Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 23: Baron Karon.
Sanchez and Brown went to place of the crime scene. There they found police cars were already waiting.
A yellow tape was used to block the alley, she showed her badge and tried to get through but she was stopped.
" Excuse me, I’m a police officer." She told the man who had blocked her path and showed him her badge again.
The man in a black fancy suit said nothing to her but she could tell he was looking at her through his black glasses.
Somebody else came up behind him, it was a short woman with a very petite figure, she was dressed in a black woman’s suit with a very short skirt.
Sanchez wondered if she was a dancer because that skirt would never be allowed by the private agencies she knew.
However she didn’t know which agency these guys were from but she wouldn’t let them walt into her city and act like they own things.
The woman raised her glasses, " Detective Sanchez I presume."
" You know me?" She asked but it was to be expected, these guys had access to a lot of information and hers was public.
" Your reputation precedes you, becoming a detective at 25 with a success rate of 93 percent on all of your cases, it’s natural people with pay attention."
" Then why are you stopping me? This is my city and this is rightfully my case so why are big shots like you here."
She said sarcastically, the other woman acted like she didn’t detect the sarcasm and looked at Sanchez with a straight face.
" This is now under jurisdiction of the S.C.O." She took out a badge and showed it to Sanchez.
" S.C.F?" Sanchez asked, she had never heard of this agency before and wondered if this was a sham.
She grew vigilant, if this was fake then she was ready to arrest all of them right here.
" I prefer O, organisation sounds much better then force don’t you think? I don’t even know why we’re called a force."
She whispered the last part to herself but Sanchez heard her, she was about to ask more questions when Brown called her.
" What?" She asked with irritation, couldn’t he see she was busy?
" It’s the chief, he wants us to back off." His answer caught her off guard.
" What?" She asked, not fully registering what he had just said. He gave her the phone.
After talking to the chief she frowned, ’ Why does he want us off this case, this makes not sense.’
From the statement of that woman, this was a simple rape attempt and a vigilante playing hero.
She couldn’t understand why people like these would take interest then she froze. ’ Could it be?’ 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
She still found it hard to believe that the supernatural existed but there was doubt in her mind.
A single voice that kept whispering what if, this case made her even more curious, she grew more determined to find Adrian.
----------------------------------------------------------
Adrian in the meantime was getting an ear full from Meggie, killing a vampire could spark an entire war.
Vampires were prideful, while they did not care for their servants, killing one of them was an insult to them.
They would never let that slide unless they were weaker than you were but this noble vampire was certain to be stronger than Adrian.
Meggie sighed, " What am I going to do with you?"
" I couldn’t just watch her get killed now could I?"
She sighed again, " You are your mother’s son after all, just make sure not to cause too much trouble okay?"
He nodded, " Go to your room, tomorrow I will test the limit of your strength."
That made him excited and he rushed to his room, he couldn’t wait for tomorrow, perhaps he’ll learn how to use esper too.
He didn’t know the commotion he had caused.
----------------------------------------------------------
After the two agents confirmed the victim was a plebian vampire from the Karon vampire house they left.
Karon was a baron, the lowest vampire noble but he was a rank 2 vampire over 400 years old.
Normally noble Vampires reach rank 2 after living for 200 years, which is why their power is usually measured in years.
As a prideful race they looked down on the idea of training to grow stronger, they just laze around and grow stronger.
Since they technically can’t die of old age they have the liberty to be lazy. Karon was amongst the strongest vampires in this city.
He was the oldest of the three baron houses but due to the lack of talent, one of them was still stronger than him even though Karon was older.
Of course his experience and cunning mind makes him a terrifying foe. The two agents were worried.
They also didn’t know who caused this, every Espara and Fayera in this city knew not to mess with the three vampire barons.
They had to report this to their branch director immediately Incase a war start in the city.
The organisation should be ready to respond and make sure those blood suckers don’t involve the ordinary in their conflict.
When the branch director heard the new he sent somebody to the house of baron Karon to make he doesn’t behave.
He was only sending a warning, others might fear the vampires but not the organisation.
Vampires had commonly known weaknesses like sunlight and a stake to the heart.
Of course having a stake doesn’t mean you’ll win, you’ll still need to stab it in their hearts which was easier said than done.
In the house of Karon.
After Karon received the news he merely grinned, he didn’t take the threat seriously.
The organisation was powerful but so were the vampires. His house was weak in the grand scheme but in this city.
He was powerful enough to match that branch of the organisation, not to mention all three houses.
The only reason they haven’t destroyed the organisation was because they were scared of the retaliation.
If they destroy a branch, the monsters from above will just show up and wipe them all out.
Not to mention they weren’t the only powers here, he knew the witches would love if they killed each other.
Not to mention those ugly bastards the ogres. However none of it mattered, this was all the reason he needed to start a war with that bitch.
The glass full of blood he was holding shattered in his hand. He took a deep breath and ordered the servants to clean the floor.
A woman ran timidly to clean up.
