Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 29: Blood Of the Wolf Progenitor
Meggie sprinkled her healing potion on him and his body sizzled, smoke rose but his wounds didn’t heal.
She sighed, " He has overdrawn his esper, his body is breaking apart, he pushed himself too far."
Adrain and the others watched as Berry’s body started shrinking, the fat all over his body was being burnt up.
But that was a terrible thing because orcs were mostly fat, if he loses too much fat he would lose a lot of energy.
In his current state that would be a death sentence, " Can’t you do anything?" Berry’s wife asked in a shaking voice.
Meggie shook her head, " There’s a potion that can help." Adrian saw hope in their eyes but her next words shattered that hope.
" Unfortunately I don’t have it, gathering the ingredients alone would take more than a week, I’m afraid Berry won’t live until morning."
His family immediately bust into tears, Pagu above all, he blamed himself, if he hadn’t come home none of this would’ve happened.
While everybody was busy crying and sinking into despair, a wave of information hit Adrian’s mind like a speeding train.
This had been happening the whole day since he learnt to use his esper. More and more abilities had awakening.
He didn’t even tell Meggie but if the new one is added he had about two hundred different abilities now.
However not all of them were useful, some were redundant. For example, he had multiple abilities that allow him to create a specific type of weapon using energy.
But he also has an ability that allows him to create any all types of weapons with his energy making the others pointless.
He also has pyrokinesis, to be more specific he has the ability to create fire and the ability to control fire.
Two separate abilities that worked in perfect synergy to create something much stronger.
’ Shit, I’m getting distracted.’ he sent a telepathic message to Meggie telling her he had an ability to heal others.
"Absolutely not."Meggie replied instantly, Adrian was surprised that she can use telepathy too.
" Don’t be surprised, telepathy is a basic witch spell, of course its applications are limited, but you are not to show that ability."
"So you’re willing to let him die to keep my abilities a secret?"
"Yes."Her answer caught him by surprise, he had expected her to at least consider it but no, she was willing to let a friend die.
Adrain sighed, "Fine, what if I used compulsion after?"
Meggie contemplated it then answered, "Too risky, we don’t know if you compulsion will work on them."
She still said no, " It will work." He replied with confidence.
" Fine, but if it’s doesn’t work, know I’ll be forced to kill everybody in this house, I can’t risk the knowledge of your abilities coming out, it’s too risky."
Adrain was shaken by what she had just said, she talked about killing people she just had dinner with like it’s nothing.
He knelt next to Berry and placed his hand on his shoulder. A soft white light spread out and covered Berry’s body.
His wounds started healing rapidly, his family regained their hope but Adrian had to shatter it again.
While the physical wounds were healing, they were not what’s killing him in the first place.
It was overusing his ability, as an orc, Berry did not have that much esper energy, using that ability for so long drained his life force.
He was sacrificing himself to save his family and had Adrian and Meggie not been here, he would’ve failed.
Adrain sighed and shook his head then sent another telepathic message to Meggie. Meggie nodded.
" That’s more understandable, vampires can also do that so it’s easier to explain, do it."
Adrain cut his wrist and fed his blood to Berry, Berry drank the blood them continued lying down unconscious.
However they all noticed his body stopped deteriorating, in fact it started gaining its weight.
Pagu carried his father to his room and placed him on the bed. Berry’s wife sat by his side and just like that, the night went by.
Nobody slept, none of them needed that much sleep to begin with, they can go for days without rest.
Adrian didn’t even know if he would ever need to sleep again. Meggie had an incredibly strong mind and the orcs were physically powerful.
All of them were above normal humans, although the orcs were considered one of the weaker races, that was in comparison to other Fayera.
Adrain had seen the pregnant woman lifting an entire cow above her head, by his estimate that cow weighed about 450 to 500 kilogrammes.
So they were very strong, while everybody was waiting in the living room, Berry and his wife came down.
Berry looked fine, in fact both Meggie and Adrian could tell he was stronger, his blood flowed with more esper.
Adrian thought nothing of it, he was not very knowledgeable and believed that was because of the intense fight.
He had read a lot of fiction where people grow stronger during or after a hard battle and he thought this was it.
However Meggie knew better, she knew this was because of Adrian’s blood. The esper in Berry’s body continued growing steadily.
She figured at this rate he would reach level 2 by next week. This made her frown, thought of killing Berry and his family crossed her mind.
Adrian’s blood seemed to have the ability break race shackles, if this revelation came out it could a bring a lot of trouble to him.
The organisation would also do everything in their power to make sure his power doesn’t fall into the hands of the Fayera.
Even if it meant killing him. She looked at Berry and reached for her bag read to pull out something.
Berry felt her killing intent and fear gripped his heart, he staggered and almost fell down the stairs.
" What’s wrong honey?" His wife asked.
" Nothing, I just tripped." He lied.
Berry understood if Meggie wanted to kill him she could easily do it. Alchemy witches were not powerful per se.
That’s if you don’t give them time to prepare, they knew magic called the magic of equivalent exchange.
As long as they held any magical item of value, they could do anything that equals that value.
Of course there were certain limitations to it but killing him wouldn’t need something of extreme value.
He called Meggie to another room to talk, she brought her bag with her. After five minutes they came back out.
" We’re going." She told Adrian and dragged him out, he didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye.

Back in Lagos, two people stood above the unmoving body of a woman in shabby room. If Sanchez was here she would’ve recognised all of them.
These two were the people she saw on the crime scene, the woman with glasses and a very short dress and the muscular man with tattoos.
Lying on the feet was the hooker had reported the attempted rape. However she looked prettier now.
Her cheeks were full, her skin and were clear, she looked like a completely different person.
" No esper, that’s strange." The woman with glasses whispered to her partner.
