Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 108: Student vs Carnivorous Plant
Chapter 108: Student vs Carnivorous Plant
"Fine, I don’t care which meal you bring me or when, just always knock." said Flain, took the food, and closed the door.
If he didn’t take the food, it would look too suspicious. If Flain’s information was correct, people in this world normally ate.
Flain then spent the whole day training. He wrapped the food in a bag so that it would count as a single item and put it into his inventory, planning to dispose of it somewhere later. During that time, Flain also thought about which spell he would start creating next.
Once he decided, he would level up Spell Master by one level, which would unlock Stage 2 spells for him, and then he would try to create the spell as a Stage 2.
Morning came and Flain stopped swinging his swords and placed them into his inventory. Even though Flain didn’t look at the clock opposite him, he was sure it would be 9 o’clock in just a few seconds. His mind was already at such a level that he didn’t need a watch to know the exact time.
Just as Flain calculated, knocking could be heard at the door from his servants. Flain walked over and opened it.
"Could you explain to me how the teaching system works exactly? Because I plan to attend every subject and I don’t know when they begin," said Flain.
"The schedule board is in the center, but I will explain it to you so that it’s clear. Each subject is taught once per day and lasts an hour and a half. With magic, it’s different because there are two types of magic: normal and rune magic. So runic magic has a separate time slot because it is completely different from normal magic. In normal magic, all types of affinities that exist in the academy are taught at once, and you must find the classroom where your highest affinity is being taught. It’s easy to find because each classroom has a sign indicating what is usually taught there," the man explained.
"From 9:30 to 11:00, Third Eye is taught. From 11:20 to 12:50, Lion’s Endurance is taught. From 13:10 to 14:40, Iron Will is taught. From 15:00 to 16:30, Steel Strength is taught. From 16:50 to 18:30, Mind Range is taught. From 18:50 to 20:20, Magic is taught. And from 20:40 to 22:10, Rune Magic is taught" the man explained the scheduled times.
So today Flain would be busy until evening if he wanted to try all the subjects. In any case, Flain definitely wouldn’t attend all of them, only those that were more useful than training.
Flain wondered which affinity he would pick as his main one, though he doubted that the academy taught necrotic affinity. Flain looked at his hand and saw the item he had obtained at the very beginning of his journey in this world.
It was the Emerald Ring that granted him +30% poison damage and +3 strength. What was important was the +30% poison damage. Flain didn’t know if poison affinity even existed, but if it did and was taught at the academy, he would choose that one.
Flain still had half an hour before his first lecture started. The servants went somewhere and then came back with breakfast. Flain took it and put it into the food sack, which he returned to his inventory.
Then he waited ten minutes and pretended to be consuming breakfast. Outside, noise could be heard as students were coming out of their rooms.
Flain opened the door and walked a few meters, then stopped because something had caught his attention.
Two students stood facing each other, covered in blood, with a sword and a spear in their hands. Around them stood a crowd of other students watching the scene unfold.
"Hey, did you really just bump into me?!" shouted the first one.
"Hmph, I am Iuil Ugitch. You should be begging me for forgiveness, otherwise, things won’t end well for you," said the second.
"How dare you speak to me like that?!" shouted the first and lunged at the second with his sword.
The students exchanged blows for a while and looked quite evenly matched. Everything changed when a red aura appeared around the first student’s spear, making it much stronger.
"A special technique of my family, heh," he muttered.
He then stabbed the second student hard in the chest and threw him into a Carnivorous Plant. The Carnivorous Plant began to tremble slightly, and long thorned roots emerged from the ground, lifting the plant so that it could move.
The students watching started to back away, but the second student with the spear didn’t seem afraid of the Carnivorous Plant at all. He had an arrogant expression on his face.
The Carnivorous Plant wrapped its roots around the fallen second student and moved him aside so his body wouldn’t be in the way. Then it sent its roots toward the second student.
’It attacked first, so I shouldn’t have any problems if I destroy it,’ the first student thought with a smirk.
The first student gripped his spear tightly and charged at the entire Carnivorous Plant. The Carnivorous Plant easily dodged him and wrapped its roots around his body.
The student’s eyes filled with blood, and he began to cough up blood due to the force with which the Carnivorous Plant was crushing him. Then it slammed him hard into the ground, creating a small crater.
Once the job was done, it returned to its original spot and sank its roots back into the ground. The students who had been watching from a distance stared in shock at the scene before them — that student didn’t stand a chance.
The student instantly lost all respect. He had been defeated by a plant. Many who had once considered him strong now looked at his body with disdain.
But that’s normal in the world of nobility and in the Empire of Light — the defeated are left in the ravines, and the strong soar through the clouds.
Healers appeared around both defeated students and began treating them. Flain walked past them with a cold expression — he had other priorities.
Flain was certain that neither he nor any other student could defeat the Carnivorous Plant. Its movements were far too fast for Flain to even track. If the Carnivorous Plant wanted to, it could easily slaughter all 105 students without even breaking a sweat.
Flain crossed the garden and entered the academy. Third Eye was supposed to enhance his senses — the question was whether it would actually work...
