Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 91: Labyrinth
Chapter 91: Labyrinth
The walls around Flain darkened even more than before, and cracks appeared on them from which green light shone. From the walls grew cobwebs on which crouched shadows in the silhouette of a spider.
Luckily, Flain was able to see in the dark—otherwise, he would have seen almost nothing. The green light from the cracks was very weak, and if he relied only on that, he would have been able to see just a few centimeters ahead.
Flain began walking through the labyrinth, intending to turn, but he ran into a wall that had appeared even though Flain had seen a passage there just a moment ago.
"Fuck," muttered Flain, trying to be as negative as possible on purpose.
He continued on. Ghosty probably hadn’t found the core yet because he hadn’t returned to Flain. Or he had given up and was intentionally causing Flain misfortune as revenge.
That seemed unlikely to Flain, because he was sure he had manipulated him well. Ninety seconds passed, and the labyrinth changed again—this time, it was even darker.
Flain accidentally ran into one of the webs, and shadow spiders jumped onto him. Flain shook them off, but one of them managed to bite him.

Flain began to feel dizzy—first a little, then to the point where he could barely walk. He staggered to a wall, sat down, and waited for it to pass.
It definitely couldn’t be poison, because Flain was a skeleton, and poison and similar things didn’t affect him since his body was made of bones. The attack probably caused some kind of illusion or something similar.
After a few minutes, the effect wore off, but the labyrinth had completely changed in the meantime. The walls were now dark purple, and black tentacles occasionally grew from the wall—something Flain definitely didn’t want to encounter.
Flain continued walking, passed through several directions, and waited either to find the core himself or for Ghosty to guide him to it.
He turned into another alleyway, jumping over the tentacles that were blocking it. When he landed, he heard a faint squeaking around him. He looked around but didn’t see anything unusual—except the tentacles he had just jumped over, which were unsuccessfully reaching out toward him.
Flain continued, but then it happened—Flain stopped perceiving everything. Literally.
Flain was walking normally, but suddenly he lost his sight, hearing, and smell—these were the only senses he had as an undeath.
But he lost everything. He didn’t even feel like he was standing or even existing at all. It was a very relaxing feeling—perfect peace. But Flain wasn’t looking for peace—if he were, he could have had it long ago.
The only thing Flain had left was his mind, so he began thinking about how to get out of it while simultaneously focusing on negative thoughts to maintain his labyrinth difficulty.
It occurred to Flain that maybe it would pass, but since he was also playing for speed, he hoped it would pass quickly because he didn’t have the whole day to just sit around doing nothing.
According to Flain’s estimation, it had already been at least 5 minutes. Flain doubted he would stay in this state forever, because he saw no reason why they would essentially kill a noble child just like that in a contest for a room.
It hadn’t occurred to Flain that he could break through it by shifting into dimension X. He tried with all his might, but it simply didn’t work. Flain was truly angry because this ruined the entire phase two, and he doubted he’d get many points anymore.
Flain remained like that for another 40 minutes until he finally managed to break the curse. He did it quite simply, but the hard part was figuring it out. He had to calm all his negative emotions and want to stay in that state forever. That was the solution—so how the hell was Flain supposed to figure that out?
Flain had already grown desperate and was trying all kinds of random things, and then he did the fateful one. Flain opened his eyes, and of course, the labyrinth around him completely changed. Ghosty was levitating nearby, came closer to him, and examined him carefully when he saw he was moving.
"Did you fall asleep? I already found the core long ago and you’re here sleeping?! It’s your own fault you’ll get the worst room," said Ghosty angrily.
"I didn’t fall asleep. I suddenly lost all my senses and was trying to break free from it. And also, how can an undeath fall asleep?" said Flain.
"Oh, that didn’t occur to me... But it’s still your fault, you should’ve been faster," said Ghosty.
"Well, quickly take me to the core. My score is already bad, and wasting time won’t help," said Flain.
Ghosty began flying through the corridors of the labyrinth and led Flain to the core. During the way, another 90 seconds passed, so the core moved somewhere else—but luckily not far away, otherwise Flain and Ghosty would’ve never caught up with it.
Flain turned and finally saw that cursed core. It was a large levitating golden orb on a pedestal, from which golden sparks were flying.
Flain approached the core and summoned a mana pulse from his chest, which gently aimed at the core. The core began to crack and then exploded into many golden sparks.
Flain was teleported away from the labyrinth. He appeared in the same meadow where he had done the first phase. There was already quite a large crowd of people there—at least half. That at least pleased Flain, because he expected to be among the last.
But Flain was still honestly very angry. It felt really unfair to him. How the hell was he supposed to know he’d be struck by some curse that froze him for almost an hour? Sure, maybe he had underestimated the difficulty of the dungeon a little due to his bad mood, but that was nothing compared to the loss of all senses.
And on top of that, Flain doubted that anyone else from the half that had already completed it had gone through the same thing.
Flor came to Flain. "What happened?" he asked.
Flain specifically told him about the loss of all senses and how he had been trapped there for nearly an hour, and that without it, he could’ve had a perfect score.
Flor started thinking...
