Chapter 629: Enemy Comes Voluntarily

“Don’t throw up in the car!” Karim yelled while driving.

But this couldn’t stop Kane and Howard.

The car was instantly filled with foul vomit.

They drove to L.A. instead of taking a plane.

Actually, they’d arrived in L.A. yesterday, but they stayed the night at a bar.

Winnip wasn’t here, so no one could stop them.

Chen Zhao didn’t know they’d arrived either, so they could do whatever they wanted.

They left the bar in the early morning and went to find Chen Zhao, reeking of alcohol.

They were almost at Chen Zhao’s house. Karim was at his own limit too.

He slammed on the brakes and the car stopped before Chen Zhao’s house.

He rushed out and started throwing up wildly in the corner of the yard.

After getting rid of all that, he felt much better.

But just as he planned on going to say hi to Chen Zhao and Fali, he discovered a red shadow where he’d thrown up.

“Oh no…” Karim paled instantly.

Obitos had already stuck his head out and was glaring at Karim.

When he looked back, he saw Kane and Howard getting out of the car.

The two swayed over. Smiling drunkenly, Kane said, “Hi…Obitos…”

And then he threw up too.

“Chen…help! Ahh…”

Fali was still in bed, but she heard the cries outside.

She patted Chen Zhao. “Chen, I think I hear Karim’s voice.”

“It’s not just Karim. Kane and Howard are here too.”

“What’s wrong with them?”

“They drove under the influence and something happened. Ignore them. Let’s keep sleeping.” Chen Zhao pulled the covers over and continued sleeping.

“We should get up. It’s almost eight.”

“The environment is so nice here.” Brighton looked at the scenery along the way. He could see Mirror Lake through the woods at some places.

“It is indeed nice,” Nat said. “Rich people like living here.”

When they took a turn, they suddenly saw a bloody figure run out.

“Help! Help!”

Everyone in the car was terrified. They were about to get out of the car when a red shadow darted out. It bit the man’s thigh and dragged him into the bushes.

“Help! Help! Help…”

They could still hear that tragic sound and they were all terrified.

“That…that… That was…”

“Was that Obitos?”

Nat, Cooper, and Tris had all seen Obitos before.

He’d become bigger, but that fiery-red skin was his unique trademark.

“What should we do? Should we call the cops?”

“Of course… That guy is going to get eaten.”

Just then, they heard rapping on the glass.

Turning around, they saw that the person who’d been dragged into the woods had come out.

But his state was even more terrible. It was like he’d just gotten taken out of the front lines.

“Hey…give me some fire…”

Some fire? Shouldn’t he be pleading to call the cops now?

Or maybe they should be calling the ambulance.

Give fire?

“Are you okay?”

“Ye—” Before Karim could finish, his foot was pulled again. “Ah…help!”

Yeah…this was more normal.

Brighton was terrified. “Mr. Nat, what just happened?”

“Uh…maybe… Maybe they’re just joking around.” Nat’s smile was a bit stiff.

Probably even he didn’t believe his own words.

“Let’s hurry up,” Tris urged. “Mr. Chen’s house should be right up ahead.”

They didn’t want to care about this. They couldn’t care about it either.

Who knew if Obitos would drag them into the woods after getting out of the car too?

They didn’t know if the person had died or not either.

When they got to the house, they saw two bloody guys laying on the ground.

The people in the car were frightened again. They didn’t dare get out.

Just then, Fali came out of the house. Seeing the car, she went over.

“Hello, you are?”

“Ms. Fali, do you remember me?” Tris asked from the window.

“Oh, Tris, it’s you. Come on in.”

“Uh…this…”

Tris looked at Kane and Howard on the ground, a bit hesitant.

“Ignore them. They asked for this.”

When they passed by Kane and Howard, they saw that they were just as injured at Karim, who they’d met earlier.

What a pity…

Just then, Karim darted out of the woods again.

He walked past them like nothing was wrong.

“Get up. Obitos is coming. Stop playing dead.”

Kane and Howard opened their eyes. They quickly climbed up and hid inside the house.

Everyone was speechless. They hadn’t died.

It was Nat and the others’ first time coming to Chen Zhao and Fali’s house, so they were a bit reserved.

They weren’t as relaxed as Kane, Howard, and Karim.

The three bloody guys were even eating breakfast as if nothing had happened.

“Tris, did you all eat breakfast?”

“Yes, thank you,” Tris said with a smile. “Oh, this is my assistant, Jaberry.”

“Hi, Ms. Fali.”

“These are Cooper and Nat’s assistants, Faven and Brighton.”

“Hi, Ms. Fali.”

“Hello.”

Just then, Chen Zhao came downstairs.

But when he saw Brighton in the group, his expression changed instantly.

When Brighton saw Chen Zhao, his expression changed too.

“Chen, are Tris and the others here for you?”

“Yeah,” Chen Zhao said. “Fali, you’re going to be late for work.”

“Oh, yeah. Help me host them,” Fali said. “Bye Tris.”

“Bye.”

Fali hurried away. Chen Zhao scanned each person.

“Sit down.” Chen Zhao ate breakfast as usual.

Karim, Howard, and Kane glanced at him and stood up immediately. “Chen, we’re full. You can keep eating.”

“Go sit over there, but don’t sit on the sofa. It’s hard to clean.”

Everyone watched Chen Zhao eat his breakfast slowly.

He didn’t seem to be in a good mood.

It was okay when Fali was here, but after she left, his expression became frosty.

“Mr. Chen, did we disturb you? Should we…come another day?”
