The girl stared at Eiro with a broad smile on her face. It was like all the hesitation she had before now was completely and utterly washed away. Rather, she was actually getting a bit… too close to him. He pushed her away with a gust of wind, "I think you're misunderstanding. Neither am I from your world, nor do I think it's very appropriate for you to be so close to me."

The smile from the girl's face dropped and instead turned into a panicked expression, "Wait, what? Then how did you- How do you know that language?"

Eiro sighed, "My son is from your world. He taught me some bits of the languages he spoke there in the past."

"Your son... he reincarnated as a demon?"

Once again, Eiro sighed, "No, he's a human. But... there were some otherworlders that reincarnated as monsters in the past. The Monster King a few generations back was rumoured to be one, but I currently have no way of confirming that."

"Oh..." she replied, carefully holding her hand to her chest, "Uhm... So... what are you going to do now that you know?"

"Nothing. Why would I do anything?"

"I... I heard that otherworlders here aren't treated exactly well... that they're practically used as slaves, and are forced to do the bidding of powerful folks..."

Eiro couldn't deny that at all. That was certainly how things worked here. Whenever an otherworlder was discovered and reported, a lot of bad stuff could start happening to them. When otherworlders came here, they were all given some kind of special ability. Abusing those special abilities was something that kings or ganglords didn't even have to think twice about. There was a reason why Eiro even met his kids the way he did, after all. Their unique skills were incredibly useful for the Holy Empire.

"Well, frankly, what I'm going to do depends a little bit on your unique skill. I know that otherworlders tend to have less or no drawbacks to them, but depending on how your skill presents, we might need to figure something out," Eiro explained, looking down at the girl, "So? What's your special ability?"

She nervously took a step back, "I- What do you mean, it depends on my ability? What will you do if it's... if it's dangerous..?"

"Hm? Oh by Lady Winter, will you just stop being so scared already?" Eiro rubbed the bridge of his nose, "Trust me, your ability is not going to be so dangerous that I'll need to do anything about you. I know how these things work by now. Unless your dying wish was to be able to kill anything and everyone around you, your ability won't be directly dangerous. Considering how much of a wuss you are... it's either defensive or preventative, if it's related to combat at all. But I'm sorry, this is the one thing that I can't compromise on. You're going to have to tell me your ability."

The girl held her arm, slowly nodding, "Okay. My ability is... uhm... seeing through lies."

Eiro raised a brow. That was... bold. Lying about being able to see through lies. Interesting.

"Oh? Is that so?" he smiled, crossing his arms, "In that case, tell me. Am I lying when I say..." he looked around for a moment, trying to figure something out, "That the sky is about to turn green?"

The girl raised her brow confused, "I, uhm... Y-..." she widened her eyes, shaking her head, "No, no, it's not a lie..."

Eiro smiled, as he raised his hand. He snapped his finger, and with a wave of magic flowing filling it, the sky did indeed turn green. Or well, it appeared green around this part of the settlement, since Eiro just manipulated the air to bend the light in a way that the sky would appear green for a little while.

Either way, with that, he managed to figure it out. He knew that the girl was going to try and trick him, and figuring out how she was going to try that was the perfect way of tracing things back to her special skill. He held his hand over over toward the side and stared into her face. She glanced over a for a moment, over at the mountain-peak that Eiro was pointing at and then fell to the ground in shock.

The demon smiled and held his hand out toward her, so that he could help her up, "Don't try to lie to a man that actually can tell truth from lie, child."

She looked up at Eiro, scooting away from him, "H-How did you- How did you do that? What kind of trick was that?"

"Trick? That wasn't a trick. For a few moments, I simply had the intention to shatter the mountaintop. And then, upon seeing your reaction, I decided otherwise," he explained, and the girl shook her head.

"No, no, that's not possible, that's never happened before! You can't change the future!"

Eiro stared into her eyes, "You think I would let myself be restrained by predetermination? Yes, there are a few moments in time that are fixed... that cannot be changed, but the immediate future? My own actions, the way things present in this world. All that can be moulded and changed. Not to mention..." he pulled back his arm, squatting down in front of her to look into the girl's eyes from closer, "Do you really think that a level beginner grade skill could actually see the definitive future? I'm guessing it can... see possibility. Bring some order into the chaos of the world. Maybe at some point if you actually tried to level it up, you could see those fixed moments in time."

If she could, then Eiro would be more than just grateful for that. He still had not been able to find out anything about the 'Total Solnox'. That cataclysmic event that was mentioned by that 'tour guide' showing around kids around Eiro's very own tree, in the vision of the future that he was shown by a fully grown Lugo. Not to mention, this was the first ounce of chronomancy that Eiro had actually encountered so far ever since that point.

The girl slowly stood up, without Eiro's help, "How did you... how did you know that I can see the future? Or... the most likely future, I guess."

"Because I can do something similar. Though while it is a skill for you, it is the power of a card for me. The 'Absolute Domain of Truth', the Page of Pentacles. It lets me determine the truths of the world. For one, I can simply tell truth from lie. But next to that, I have been given the ability to predict almost anything in this world. You could say that... What your skill is doing for you, I'm doing manually through that card," Eiro explained, "So, figuring out something like that was quite an easy matter. Plus..." the demon pointed at his eye, "You should stop checking your status so much. While others beside me can't read the reflection in your eyes, checking system windows mid-conversation is quite bad manners."

Though, Eiro himself did that plenty. 'Do as I say, not as I do', he thought, as the girl still looked at Eiro quite nervous.

"So what, you don't need me, so you're going to-"

"By Lady- No. I'm not planning on misusing your ability. I just needed to know if your unique skill has some kind of harmful side-effect," Eiro explained. This girl was a pain and a half to deal with. Were all people from the other world so annoying to deal with? He loved Arc, but he was definitely a pain to deal with at times.

However, he quickly realized that the girl didn't quite understand what he meant, "Side effects..?"

Eiro slowly nodded, "Otherworlders aren't the only ones given unique skills. Some people are born with them. It just seems like otherworlders are lucky enough to not suffer such immense side-effects, unless the ability you wished for is one in itself..." the demon cleared his throat, "One of my sons has two skills. One that nullifies all damage that he takes. But in turn, he was given another that nullifies all damage that he deals. He can withstand a strike from the greatest giants, but... literally can't hurt a fly. Or look at one of my daughters. She can heal literally any wound, but in turn, she takes those wounds onto her own body, making her suffer even worse pain than her patients. More than that, she is plagued by deep hunger that forces her to continue healing others."

The girl looked up at Eiro, nervous, "I don't have anything like that... I think."

"You think, or you're sure? Sometimes, it doesn't present so obviously. Arc, the one from your world, his abilities nullify all negative emotions and all pain. Those skills are the blessing he asked for, but they are his curse just the same. Do you have any conditions to use your skill? Any unwanted effect at all?"

She hesitated. It seemed like there was something, at least, "I... can't just see the future. I can see the past as well. When I touch something, I can... no, I have to see its past. And I can't control when exactly I see the future either, it just... it just happens."

"... Precognition and psychometry. 'The Eye of Time'. That's... quite the skill, I have to admit," Eiro looked at the girl, smiling as he realized something, "So it wasn't that you didn't want a class. You just didn't want to touch the stone because you were worried to see its past."
