Chapter 632: Two Scaredy Cats

Aqua had truly been on an emotional rollercoaster this morning.

Her heart had been tossed between extremes until she felt physically breathless.

It had started so perfectly; she had woken up bright and cheerful, feeling a warmth in Cassius’s home that had been missing from her life for far too long.

She felt truly welcomed, basking in the glow of a family reclaimed, feeling profoundly happy just to be alive.

But then, that wholesome, happy feeling had been incinerated the moment she stumbled upon the scene of her brother fucking Portia’s ass like it was the most natural thing in the world.

She should have run.

But she didn’t.

She stayed.

Hidden behind a pillar like some depraved voyeur, fingers slipping between her legs while her brother turned the terrifying head maid into a whimpering, begging mess.

Taboo excitement flooded her veins.

Guilt clawed at her throat.

Betrayal at herself burned in her chest and she discovered emotions she didn’t even know she could feel.

And then he saw her.

Shock so sharp it stole her breath.

Followed by the strangest, softest relief when—despite everything—he ignored what she’d done and only cared that her knee might be hurt.

That gentleness cracked something open inside her.

And then—she lost control.

All the lust, all the possessiveness, all the taboo hunger she’d buried under layers of sisterly affection burst free like a dam breaking.

She kissed him. Touched him. Stroked him. Milked him until he spilled across the mirror in thick white ropes.

Licked every drop like it was sacred.

Whispered filthy promises about making him hers forever.

And when she walked out of that bathhouse, hips swaying on purpose, she had felt powerful.

Confident. Reborn. Like a new woman who could chase what she wanted without shame.

But the farther she walked, the more the high ebbed.

And realization crept in—cold, heavy, suffocating.

She had forced herself on him.

She had taken advantage of him.

She had molested her own little brother.

The thought hit like a physical blow. Her knees buckled for a second; she caught herself against the wall, breathing hard.

That wasn’t her.

That couldn’t be her.

No matter how turned on she was, no matter how deeply she now had to admit she felt something far beyond sisterly love for Cassius, she would never—never—cross that line so brazenly.

She had always put him first. Always.

He was the most important person in her world.

She would die before hurting him.

So how had she pinned him in place, stroked him until he came, promised to hunt him down and claim him like prey?

The answer arrived quietly, almost gently.

It wasn’t entirely her.

Not just her.

She closed her eyes and exhaled slowly.

The bloodline.

Her mother’s bloodline.

That old, buried part of her heritage she had always kept locked away because it stripped away restraint and let only desire speak in certain moments.

She had felt it stir before—fleeting moments of heat, of possessiveness—but never like this.

Never so strong.

Never so completely in control.

It had torn through every wall she’d built, every rule she’d set, every sisterly boundary she’d sworn to protect.

And it had worn her face while it did.

Realising this, the guilt didn’t vanish, but it...lessened.

Like a prisoner stepping out of a cell after years.

Relief washed through her—bittersweet and shaky.

But relief didn’t erase what happened.

She had still done it.

She had still touched him without consent.

She had still whispered those filthy promises.

And now she had to face him.

The thought made her want to bolt straight back to the capital and never return.

How could she look him in the eye?

How could she explain?

"I’m sorry, Cassius, it wasn’t entirely me—it was my heritage going feral because you’re so hot I lost control," sounded insane even in her own head.

So she did what any scaredy-cat would do.

She ran.

Not far—just far enough to breathe and that’s why she was here to visit Aisha right now.

But of course she didn’t accept that she was running away.

"Ugh...I can’t believe I actually—" She muttered, trailing off before shaking her head violently. "No! No, no, no! Don’t think about it, Aqua! You’re just here to relax! You’re here to meet Aisha! That’s all!"

She slapped her cheeks lightly and straightened her posture.

"Yes. Just a friendly visit to see my adorable little Aisha. Nothing else. Nope. Not running away from anything."

She reached the door of Aisha’s room, took a dramatic breath, and pushed it open in one swift, excited motion.

The moment she peeked inside, her entire expression melted.

There she was.

Exactly what she came for.

Aisha was seated behind an oversized wooden desk that made her look even smaller than she already was.

Petite frame, short white hair framing her face, curious amber eyes narrowed in concentration.

Her cat ears twitched occasionally, and her tail swayed lazily behind her chair.

She was hunched over a stack of papers, scribbling something down while mumbling to herself.

"...No, no, that mana flow is inefficient...if I rotate the array forty degrees clockwise...hmm..."

Aqua froze in the doorway.

"She’s...even cuter than I remember." She whispered to herself.

The serious expression. The focused little frown. The way her ears twitched when she was thinking.

Aqua almost squealed on the spot.

"I want to hug her. I want to squish her. I want to pick her up and swing her around—"

But then she noticed something strange.

Even though she had opened the door.

Even though she had stepped inside.

Even though she was now walking across the room.

Aisha did not notice her at all.

Not even a twitch.

Not even a glance.

It was as if the outside world had ceased to exist. She was completely absorbed in her research.

Aqua stopped mid-step.

"...Oh?"

A slow, mischievous grin spread across her face.

"Challenge accepted."

She tiptoed forward.

Closer.

Closer.

Still no reaction.

She circled the desk quietly, moved behind Aisha’s chair...and Aisha remained entirely focused, scribbling notes and muttering about mana vectors.

When Aqua was finally directly behind her, she leaned forward slowly.

Then—

She grabbed Aisha’s shoulders.

"BOO."

What followed was nothing short of chaos.

"KYAAAAAA—!!"

Aisha screeched like a startled cat.

But she didn’t just jump out of her chair.

No.

She launched.

She shot straight upward with explosive force and slammed against the ceiling.

When Aqua looked up—

Aisha was clinging to the ceiling.

Actually clinging. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Fingers and feet dug into the wood, tail puffed out twice its normal size, ears flattened against her head, eyes wide, breathing fast.

She was literally hanging upside down from the ceiling like a frightened cat.

Aqua stared for one second.

Two seconds.

Then she lost it.

She burst into uncontrollable laughter.

"Oh my God—!! I can’t—I can’t believe you actually did that!" She gasped between laughs. "You jumped straight to the ceiling! You’re literally hanging up there like a cat!"

She pointed upward, wiping tears from her eyes.

"This is amazing! This is absolutely amazing! I was feeling a little restless today, but this? This cured everything!"

Aisha, still panting, blinked in confusion.

"...W-What just—"

She looked around wildly.

Then finally—

Her eyes locked onto Aqua below.

Her pupils widened.

"Aqua?!" She exclaimed. "What are you doing here?!"

Aqua placed her hands on her hips and looked up confidently.

"Why shouldn’t I be here, my adorable Aisha?" She replied smoothly. "I am a grown woman. I can travel wherever I please. And today I decided to visit my cute little sister."

She tilted her head.

"Is there something wrong with that?"

Aisha blinked.

Processed.

Realized it was truly Aqua.

Then instead of smiling like one would do after seeing someone close after so long.

She glared.

"Aqua, what the hell is wrong with you?!" She snapped. "Why would you jump scare me like that? You know how much I hate being startled!"

"If you’re going to visit me, you come like a normal person! You bring sweets from the capital! Or souvenirs! You knock politely!"

"You don’t just sneak up behind me and scare the life out of me!"

Her cheeks were flushed red with embarrassment and anger.

"But that would be boring, Aisha."

Aqua tilted her head, smiling teasingly.

"Your reactions are way too adorable to waste."

She crossed her arms. "

In fact, I only did it because I know you hate it so much. It makes it even more fun."

She leaned forward slightly.

"Also, you’re still speaking to me while you were hanging from the ceiling like a bat. If I had a photo capture device, I’d frame that moment and hang it in my bedroom."

Aisha’s ears twitched sharply.

She dropped fully to the floor and marched toward Aqua with determination.

But before she could say anything—

Aqua lunged forward.

She wrapped her arms around Aisha tightly and rubbed her cheek against hers.

"Oh Aishaaaa~ I missed you so much! You have no idea how much I missed you!"

Aisha flailed.

"Let go! Let go of me, damn it!" She protested, claws partially extending. "Stop hugging me like that! I swear, Aqua, I will scratch you! I will scratch your stupid face!"

Aqua only hugged her tighter.

"There’s no way you’d do that." She teased. "You’re all talk. You sound scary, but you’d never actually hurt me."

And that was absolutely true.

The moment Aqua said it Aisha faltered.

Her claws hesitated.

Her angry expression softened for half a second.

Because no matter how much Aqua teased her...

No matter how flustered she made her...

Aqua was still one of her closest friends.

Her mentor.

The one who had taught her advanced magic when no one else would.

The one who had stayed up nights helping her understand complex spell arrays.

The one who, for all her teasing, treated her kindly.

So instead of scratching—

Aisha just huffed.

"...Fine. But can you at least move your damn chest away from my face?"

She muttered, while trying to push her plump chest away

"I’m literally suffocating."

Aqua blinked innocently before saying,

"There’s no can-do, Aisha. This is my form of love. Accept it."

She squeezed her tighter.

Aisha groaned, squirming slightly.

"I can’t breathe—!"

But in the end—

She stopped struggling.

Her tail slowly swayed.

Her ears relaxed.

And though she would never admit it—

She leaned just slightly into Aqua’s embrace.

All while Aqua smiled triumphantly, completely ignoring her protests.

"See?" Aqua whispered happily. "You missed me too."

Aisha rolled her eyes to show her protest, but with the way her little heart was hearing right now was enough to show just how happy she was to Aqua after so long.
