Chapter 666: I Want To Stay!

The moment those words left Carmela’s mouth, Maria felt an explosion of emotions she didn’t expect.

She knew she should leave.

She absolutely knew without question that she should get out of the room.

But her eyes remained fixed on the scene before her—on Carmela’s flushed skin, on Cassius’s hands roaming her body, on the raw intimacy building between them...

...and she couldn’t leave.

Despite every teaching, every vow, every ounce of propriety drilled into her over decades of service to the Goddess, she wanted to see what happened next.

Wanted to witness this forbidden thing unfolding before her

It was wrong.

It was so wrong.

And yet she couldn’t move

Joy, however, snapped out of her daze with a visible shake of her head.

Her eyes cleared, horror dawning as she realized exactly what was about to happen in this room.

"I"ll be out of your hair in a second." She said abruptly, her voice strained.

Before anyone could respond, she grabbed Maria’s wrist and pulled.

"Wha—Joy!"

Maria stumbled forward, caught off guard.

"Why are you pulling me? Where are you taking me?!

Joy’s brow furrowed with obvious exasperation.

"Outside, Mother. We’re going outside."

"She gestured sharply at the bed as she said,

"Did you not hear what he said? Do you really want to stay here and witness...that?"

Maria’s eyes darted to the scene—Carmela pressed against Cassius, their bodies entwined, the clear intention written in every line of their posture.

She looked back at Joy.

"Well." She said slowly. "I was just thinking that Carmela seems really scared right now. Vulnerable. She might need emotional support."

She nodded sagely, as if this mode perfect sense.

"I could stay by her side. Offer comfort."

But joy was not in the mood for her mother’s whims, as her entire world had been upended tonight.

Her friend was about to do dirty deeds with the man she had sworn to destroy.

Her mother was trying to be a voyeur.

And she was somehow stuck in the middle of all of it.

"Just come along, Mother."

She tugged harder, not wanting to increase her headache.

"Leave them alone."

"But Joy—

"Come Along"

Joy pulled Maria toward the door, Maria’s heels dragging reluctantly across the floor.

They were almost to the exit when—

"Wait!"

The voice was weak, strained, but unmistakable

Carmela’s hand extended toward them, trembling.

"Joy...don’t go.

Joy froze

She turned slowly, disbelief written across every feature.

"What?" The word came out strangled. "What did you just say?"

"You want me to stay? You want me of all people to stay here and watch this...this lewd scene unfold before my eyes?!"

Her voice rose with each word, outrage and disbelief warring for dominance

If Cassius had asked, she would have expected it. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The man had no shame. But Carmela?

The cold, proud, fiercely private Carmela was asking her to stay? She couldn’t believe it.

Carmela’s already flushed face deepened impossibly further.

"It’s not like that..."

She managed, her voice breaking with embarrassment.

"Don’t misunderstand! I’m not asking you to stay so you can watch!

Joy’s eyes narrowed.

"It’s the connection." Carmela continued, struggling to form words through the haze of need clouding her mind. "We’re still healing. Both of us. We have to remain close, especially at night."

She clutched at Cassius for support.

"If you go too far, the connection will snap. Especially in my state right now—I’m too unfocused to maintain it."

She gestured weakly at herself.

"If that happens, all the progress we’ve made will be lost. Building a new connection would take time. So, you...you can’t go."

Joy’s expression shifted.

What Carmela said was true. She could feel it—the invisible bond between them, stretching as she moved toward the door.

A few more steps and it would break entirely.

The spell worked best at night. That’s when the healing happened.

But she looked at the bed again.

At Cassius.

At Carmela.

At what was clearly about to happen between them.

She did not want to be here.

Even someone as stern as Joy, as devoted to duty and discipline, could not simply sit by and witness such an intimate act.

It was beyond anything she had ever been asked to endure.

But Carmela’s gaze held hers.

Pleading

Desperate.

And Joy understood—Carmela wasn’t asking this lightly. She was asking because she had no choice.

Joy’s jaw tightened.

"Fine." She bit out, the word tasting like ash in her mouth. "Fine. I’ll stay"

Hearing this, Cassius’s eyebrows rose, an amused smirk playing on his lips.

Joy glared at him.

Maria, meanwhile, saw her opportunity and pounced

"Then I can stay too, right Joy?"

She stepped in front of her daughter, eyes bright with hope.

"Your mother can also stay! I can support both of you! If you need help getting through this difficult night, I’ll be right by your side!

She nodded vigorously, as if this was the most reasonable request in the world.

But Joy rolled her eyes so hard it was almost audible.

"No."

"Joy please!"

"I said no."

"But I could—"

"Come on, Mother." Joy grabbed her arm again and resumed dragging her toward the door. "Your job here is done. Go find another room. Sleep with the sisters or something. Just go"

"But Joy, please let me stay to help. I—"

Joy shoved her mother through the doorway and closed the door firmly behind her

She stood there for a moment, back against the wood, eyes closed.

Then, with the heaviest sigh of her entire life, she turned around and walked back to the bed.

She sat down.

Very reluctantly.

Her thighs pressed together tightly. Her hands folded in her lap. Her gaze fixed on a point on the far wall that was absolutely, definitely, under no circumstances going to drift toward the bed.

Cassius looked at her, then at Carmela, then back at her

The joy and teasing in his eyes was insufferable.

"Well then." He said lightly. "Since everyone’s comfortable...

He turned his attention fully to Carmela

"Let’s dig in."

He didn’t hesitate. He lowered his head and his mouth found her.

"Ah! Nngh—Cassius, not so—not so hard! Not so deep!♡~"

Carmela’s back arched off the bed, her protest melting instantly into a choked cry of overwhelming sensation.

"Ahh!♡~ Suck!♡~ Mmph!♡~ Lick!♡~"

He was relentless, his tongue a clever, invasive instrument that speared into her slick hole, lapping and probing with a starved intensity that spoke of his own long-denied desire.

"Mmph!♡~ Mmm!♡~ Slurp!♡~ Ahhh!♡~"

The wet, obscene sounds of his feasting filled the room, punctuated by Carmela’s broken moans and gasped pleas that held no real conviction.

Meanwhile, Joy sat perfectly still, her hands clenched into fists on her knees. She stared at the grain of the wooden wall until her vision blurred.

The sounds were inescapable—the sucking, the licking, Carmela’s ragged breathing, the soft, creaking protest of the bed.

A hot, shameful flush crept up her own neck.

As a Daughter of the Goddess, she had been taught that purity of mind and body was the path to divine grace, that the celestial heavens awaited the faithful at the end of her life

But in that moment, as she was forced to bear witness to this primal intimacy, she felt a terrible, sinking certainty.

She had never seen Hell before.

But now, she was in it.
