Hailee's POV

It was my wedding day.

Two weeks had passed since Nathan asked me to marry him, but it still felt unreal. Every time I looked at the ring on my finger, my heart fluttered like it was the first time all over again.

I was standing in my room while the dressmaker fixed the last details of my gown. My hair was almost done, soft curls falling over my shoulders. When I caught my reflection in the mirror, I barely recognized myself.

I was smiling.

Truly smiling.

I was getting married to the man I loved.

My mate.

My safe place.

After everything I had been through… the pain, the loss, the fear… I was finally here.

A soft knock came at the door.

"Come in," I said, thinking it was one of the maids.

The door opened.

And my breath caught.

Nathan stood there.

Already dressed.

He was in a dark suit, perfectly fitted, his hair neatly styled. He looked so handsome it made my chest ache.

"Nathan," I said, laughing softly. "You're early."

He smiled at me, eyes warm. "I just wanted to check on you."

I raised a brow playfully. "You know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding, right?"

He scoffed lightly and walked closer, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"I don't believe in bad luck," he said. "Not when it comes to you."

I smiled. "You look handsome."

"And you look stunning," he replied proudly. "I'm so lucky to have you." Then his eyes sparkled with something playful.

"I have a surprise for you."

I gasped. "Another one?"

"Just say yes," he said, stepping aside. "Come in."

The door opened wider.

And I froze.

"Lila?!"

I screamed.

My childhood best friend stood there, smiling widely, her arms already open. She looked beautiful, confident, glowing.

I ran to her and hugged her tightly, laughing and crying at the same time.

"Oh my God," I sobbed. "You're here!"

"The last time I saw you was almost eleven years ago," she said, hugging me just as tightly. "And now you're getting married!"

I pulled back and looked at her properly. "You look amazing."

She laughed. "You should see yourself."

I turned to Nathan, eyes shining. "You did this?"

He nodded. "I found her. I thought you'd want her here."

I hugged him quickly. "Thank you."

He kissed my cheek and stepped out, giving us privacy.

The moment the door closed, Lila squealed.

"So," she said teasingly, "you finally picked Nathan."

I laughed softly. "I did."

She crossed her arms and nodded. "Good. He's the right choice."

"He's my mate," I said simply.

She smiled knowingly. "I knew it."

We talked and laughed while the dressmaker finished up. Lila helped me with my veil, fixing it carefully like she had done this a hundred times before.

When everything was done, I stood alone in front of the mirror.

White dress.

Soft veil.

Bright eyes.

I placed a hand over my chest and took a deep breath.

This was really happening.

A knock came again.

This time, the door opened to reveal Peter.

He was dressed neatly, his expression soft when he saw me.

"You look beautiful, sis," he said gently.

I smiled at him. "Thank you."

He offered his arm. "Ready?"

I nodded.

My heart started racing as he walked me toward the hall. The doors were closed, but I could hear voices inside.

When the doors finally opened…

The hall was full.

Packed.

I saw familiar faces. Pack members. Friends. Family.

I saw my mother, her eyes full of tears.

I saw Ozzy, smiling proudly.

I saw Dane.

But Oliver wasn't there.

My heart pinched, but I pushed the pain aside.

This day was about love. About healing.

Then I saw him.

Nathan.

Standing at the front.

And beside him…

Oscar.

My eyes locked onto them, and everything else faded away.

Nathan was looking at me like I was the only person in the world.

Oscar was smiling, standing tall, waiting for me.

Peter squeezed my hand gently and started walking.

Step by step.

Peter walked me the last few steps.

My legs felt weak, my heart pounding so loudly I was sure everyone could hear it. When we reached the front, Peter stopped and turned to me.

He smiled, his eyes shining.

"Take care of her," he said quietly to Nathan.

Nathan nodded. "With my life."

Peter squeezed my hand once more, then gently placed it into Nathan's waiting hand.

The moment Nathan's fingers wrapped around mine, everything settled.

The fear.

The noise.

The past.

All of it faded.

"You look beautiful," Nathan whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

Heat rushed to my cheeks. I smiled shyly. "You don't look so bad yourself."

He chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving mine.

The priest cleared his throat and began the vows.

His voice echoed through the hall, calm and steady, talking about love, commitment, and choosing each other every single day. I barely heard most of it. All I could focus on was Nathan's eyes—so full of love it made my chest ache.

When it was my turn to speak, my voice trembled, but I didn't look away.

"I choose you," I said softly. "In this life and every life after."

Nathan swallowed hard when it was his turn.

"I choose you," he said firmly. "Always."

We exchanged rings, our fingers shaking as we slid them onto each other's hands.

Then the priest smiled.

"You may kiss your bride."

Nathan didn't hesitate.

He leaned in and kissed me—slow, gentle, full of promise.

The hall erupted into applause.

Cheers.

Laughter.

Happy tears.

I laughed through my own tears, overwhelmed by joy as Nathan pulled me into his arms.

Just as the celebration settled, Oscar came running up to me, excitement all over his face.

"Mom!" he said urgently. "I have a surprise for you!"

I laughed. "Another one? What is it?"

He grinned and pointed behind me. "Look."

I turned.

And my breath left my body.

"Oliver!"

I screamed his name and ran to him, dropping to my knees as I wrapped him in my arms.

He hugged me back just as tightly.

"Congrats, Mom," he said softly.

My heart felt like it might burst. "Thank you," I whispered. "Thank you for coming."

He pulled back slightly, looking up at me. "I'm sorry… for how I acted before."

I shook my head, tears streaming down my face. "There's nothing to forgive."

He smiled gently. "I'm still your son."

I hugged him again, overwhelmed with happiness.

"I know," I whispered. "Always."

Later, music filled the hall, and Nathan led me to the center of the room.

We danced slowly, his hand warm at my waist, my head resting against his chest.

I smiled up at him. "This feels like a fairytale."

He leaned down, his forehead resting against mine. "You are my fairytale."

"I love you," I whispered.

"I love you more," he replied.

As we swayed, he leaned closer and whispered softly, just for me to hear, "I can't wait to make love to you tonight… as my wife."

My heart skipped, my smile widening as I blushed deeply.
