Chapter 429: Chapter 434: Starting to Look Forward to 3
Since it was noon and the nurse had gone for lunch, there was no one outside. Bai Qianqian walked up to the door herself and knocked lightly before stepping inside.
When she saw the scene inside, she froze momentarily, then her face flushed beet red. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt!” she quickly apologised.
Inside the room, a beautiful woman was helping Bai Jingqing with his shirt. Their proximity made Bai Qianqian extremely uncomfortable; she wished she could hide in a hole somewhere. She turned around, intending to leave quickly.
It seemed she had come at the wrong time, but it was a relief – she could avoid interacting with him. Bai Qianqian breathed a sigh of relief surreptitiously.
“Stop.” Bai Jingqing called her in a flat voice.
“You’re busy, I’ll leave. Come for dinner at my place when you’re free.” The woman let go of Bai Jingqing’s shirt, picked up her bag, smiled at Bai Qianqian and exited the room.
Bai Qianqian nodded at the woman and swiftly averted her gaze, unable to look at her any longer.
The door to the office shut, leaving the two of them alone. Bai Qianqian felt awkward and didn’t know what to do next. “I’m sorry, I did knock before entering,” she apologized.
She had just entered too quickly. She used to do this all the time.
Bai Jingqing’s gaze remained fixed on her, making Bai Qianqian feel incredibly uncomfortable. Bai Jingqing decided to remove his half-buttoned shirt, then moved step by step towards Bai Qianqian.
Bai Qianqian nervously backed away. Bai Jingqing was very tall, at least 188 cm, and his muscular build was in stark contrast to his usually refined demeanor.
Bai Qianqian felt like she was being pressed by a huge mountain. Her instinct told her to run, and she acted on it. But she had only taken two steps before Bai Jingqing caught her again.
Bai Jingqing had been waiting for this little lamb to come to him. How could he possibly let her go? He grabbed her, threw her onto the sofa, and leaned in to kiss her lips.
She felt a suffocating sensation. It felt like the air from her lungs was sucked away, her small hands pushing against the solid hardness of his chest…
“The…the…the door isn’t locked!” Bai Qianqian stammered, feeling tense under the pressure of his body on hers. Bai Jingqing’s actions during moments like these strongly contrasted his usual demeanor – acting too swiftly, too forcefully, as though he hadn’t touched a woman in hundreds of years.
“Then let it stay unlocked!” Bai Jingqing merged with her as if they were one.
Bai Qianqian was scared out of her wits, terrified someone might walk in…
When the ordeal was over, Bai Qianqian felt drained. Bai Jingqing got up to lock the door, then returned and picked her up, relocating her onto the office desk.
After another round, Bai Qianqian slumped on the table, too spent to move.
Her hands, moist from their recent activities, suddenly cooled. Bai Qianqian lifted her hand, shocked to find a key.
“What’s this?” Bai Qianqian asked, trying to gather her composure.
“A key.” Bai Jingqing held her on his lap from the chair.
“Of course I know it’s a key. I’m asking what is it for,” Bai Qianqian tilted her head to look at him.
“It’s to an apartment nearby. A duplex – large enough for your entire family, and convenient for commuting to the hospital,” Bai Jingqing carefully moved her bangs aside and traced her small face with his gaze.
Bai Qianqian instinctively wanted to refuse. What would she become if she accepted his money and lived in his apartment, considering the blurry relationship they already had!
