Destiny Mission of game 'Star Ring'-Chapter 1408 - 1101: Top Secret
"What are the two units?"
Su Mo’s eyes lit up as he asked.
"Nothing, I misspoke."
Nan Qi shook his head like a rattle drum.
"Come on, I clearly heard it. You’re really not being fair. Don’t you trust me? Aren’t we supposed to be good brothers? Hmph!"
Su Mo replied with a look of disdain on his face.
Commander Nan Qi’s expression changed, then he lowered his voice and said to Su Mo, "Alright, I’ll tell you. The First Birthplace is manufacturing two new VI-generation Biological Mechas. This is top-secret among top secrets. Don’t let it slip out, or it’s off with our heads."
Nan Qi gestured across his neck as he finished speaking.
Su Mo looked exasperated and said to Nan Qi, "Isn’t that a bit too much?"
"What’s too much? VI-generation Mechas are ultimate classified information. Each one is a big killer, a game changer in race warfare. The truth is, the reason the Second Birthplace was attacked is largely because most of our defensive force went to the First Birthplace. Even erecting the Star Gate isn’t as important as the First Birthplace. If our rear gets stolen, that’s a real trouble."
"You could say only the Lord of Icaroya is truly able to act freely. But in a certain sense, Lord Icaroya is also very busy. She’s responsible for more things, like overall planning and intimidating other clan leaders. Didn’t you notice that when such a big event happened, she just said a few words and rushed back immediately? Ah, I forgot, you were unconscious back then and didn’t know."
Nan Qi spoke earnestly to Su Mo.
"Not really, the way you put it makes our situation sound dire, like we’re walking on thin ice."
"That’s exactly it. Let me tell you, countless enemies are watching us from the shadows. Not to mention, I’ll secretly tell you something about when the Second Birthplace was attacked."
Nan Qi explained to Su Mo.
"Of course, I remember. It was terrible."
"Actually, the main person in charge of the Second Birthplace back then was Xia Weiya, but she didn’t make a move."
"Why?"
"Because Xia Weiya was smart enough to know there was a terrifying presence watching the Second Birthplace. If she exposed herself by acting, the other party would also have taken action."
"I see, such a hassle."
Su Mo replied wearily.
"Brother, don’t worry, I have some good news for you."
Commander Nan Qi said with a hearty smile.
"What is it?"
Su Mo looked at Nan Qi doubtfully, wondering if he had really changed his ways.
Commander Nan Qi patted his chest and said to Su Mo, "You’ve been officially nominated for the Royal Order’s candidate list. As soon as you pass the assessment, you have a chance to become a part of the Royal Order. I worked my fingers to the bone and swallowed my pride to fight for this opportunity for you."
Of course, that wasn’t the truth at all. Nan Qi planned to nominate Su Mo for the Royal Order, but when he submitted the information at the office,
the staff surprisingly informed him that Su Mo was already on the nominee list.
This left Nan Qi quite frustrated, but it didn’t matter. No matter who nominated him, he decided to take credit for it.
"I thought it was something important."
After hearing it, Su Mo’s interest immediately waned, and any expectations vanished.
"Oh come on, brother, you don’t know how many people are fighting tooth and nail to get into the Royal Order. If it weren’t for the fact that I humbled myself and begged, there’s no way I could have nominated you."
Commander Nan Qi said with a look of heartfelt pain.
"Fine, fine. Just nominate me. I don’t see what’s so great about the position. I feel like the Royal Order is destined for hard work. It’s like wherever the danger is, that’s where they go."
Su Mo said sincerely.
"Uh, power and responsibility always balance out, but honestly, I also think the position is a bit dangerous."
Commander Nan Qi nodded in agreement.
"Then why are you pushing me into the fire pit by nominating me?"
Su Mo complained.
"Don’t think of it that way, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Look at what I brought you!"
Nan Qi felt more awkward and hurriedly took out a very special box, placing it on Su Mo’s bedside cabinet.
Su Mo looked at the box with curiosity and an odd sense of wonder.
"A gift for me?"
"There’s no need for gifts between us. This contains the Negative God Fragment you left on the Fiery Sun Wings."
Nan Qi chuckled as he spoke to Su Mo.
"Damn, isn’t it mine to begin with?"
Su Mo couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
"Brother, even though it’s yours, you shouldn’t think like that. This fragment was almost confiscated by Star Ring City! Since it was on the Fiery Sun Wings, how could they know whether it was yours or Rogel’s? Also, if Star Ring City confiscates it, where are you going to get it back? It’s thanks to me offending lots of people that I managed to keep it for you. You have no idea how precious this thing is, how many people are thinking of skimming it off to offer as a gift to Lord Icaroya."
Commander Nan Qi pleaded strongly.
"He’s right. Star Ring City is sparing no effort to collect Negative God Fragments. Getting the fragment back into your hands probably took quite a lot of effort."
The deep voice of Fake Owner·Swallower echoed in Su Mo’s mind.
"Alright, thanks."
Given that even Fake Owner·Swallower said so, Su Mo awkwardly replied.
Su Mo couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Was it that this guy suddenly being too nice made him uneasy?
"Oh, I also found some medicine inside the Fiery Sun Wings Mecha. It should be yours too. I’ve brought it all over for you."
Nan Qi immediately grinned, taking out several bottles of medicine from his pocket and placing them beside him.
"They’re mine."
Su Mo nodded.
"Brother, you must take care of your health. You have a bright future ahead of you."
Commander Nan Qi said sincerely. Originally, he thought Su Mo was so severely tainted that he was a goner!
But unexpectedly, just as Lord Icaroya had predicted, he didn’t die.
Lord Icaroya really could see the future.
"Alright, I know." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Su Mo replied calmly.
"By the way, there’s some more good news I have for you."
Commander Nan Qi returned with a sly smile.
"Can’t you tell me everything at once?"
Su Mo couldn’t help but roll his eyes, already not expecting any real good news, given the usefulness of what Nan Qi claimed as good news earlier.
Commander Nan Qi took out a very exquisite box and slowly opened it in front of Su Mo.
A dazzling Star Ring Badge appeared in sight.
"What’s this?"
Su Mo asked in surprise.
