Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100-Chapter 522: Four Hall of the Dragon Flames
Chapter 522: Four Hall of the Dragon Flames
There was far more to the selection of an Ancient Dragon Totem than simply walking up and pointing at one. It was a process that required insight, instinct, and a deep understanding of one’s path.
With only two hours given, the pressure was immense, especially for those whose talents or performances during the scroll assessment had placed them lower in the pecking order.
The truth was simple—if one didn’t already possess at least a rough understanding of the thirty-six Ancient Dragon Totem Stones and their origins, strengths, and unique traits, making the right choice would be nearly impossible.
These weren’t just training tools—they were legacies. Each totem was either a relic left behind by a peerless powerhouse of the Black Dragon Palace, imbued with centuries of condensed law and will, or they had been shaped at the very dawn of the universe during the Primal Chaos Era—when the Laws of Fire, Space, Time, and Creation had first begun to form.
Each one pulsed with an origin that could resonate with one’s soul, and yet... no two were the same. Some carried greater raw power, others superior clarity in law comprehension, and some were more attuned to specific bloodlines or elemental natures.
Even among those created by the peerless ancestors of the Black Dragon Palace, there were degrees of greatness. Some had been carved by Masters, revered for their understanding and status, while others had been formed by Elders, whose insights might not have been as deep.
And even totems made by the same individual varied in quality—some were considered ordinary, created in times of contemplation or as training tools, while others were superior works born of breakthrough, enlightenment, or near-death experience.
There was no absolute hierarchy, no rigid classification—only compatibility and resonance. Thus, making the right choice meant everything. A poor match could stifle growth. A perfect one... could ignite a legend.
The red-robed old man led the group silently for nearly a quarter hour, descending through spiraling stone Halls. Then, without warning, the passage opened into a vast chamber—a grand hall that stretched three hundred feet in width, large enough for ten carriages to race side by side without touching.
A faint black glow pulsed from the walls, illuminating the area with a warm, fiery hue.
On either side of the hall, massive red metal doors towered overhead—each one two hundred feet tall and one hundred feet wide, each carved with divine artistry. The doors weren’t just impressive in size—they were alive with meaning.
One depicted immortal dragons soaring through worlds of flame and storm, another held the engraving of three-headed black dragon flying through burning heavens.
Rising suns were etched with radiant lines of power, and enormous crimson-colored eyes stared outward from the metal, carrying an inexplicable depth that made many of the geniuses instinctively avert their gaze.
These doors were the gateways to the totems. Each one stood guard to a fragment of primordial power—and behind each was the chance to touch something beyond comprehension. As the group came to a stop, the pressure in the hall thickened.
The trial’s second phase had truly begun.
The red-robed old man walked to the front of the vast hall and turned to face the gathered geniuses, his voice echoing through the chamber with solemn weight.
"The area where we now are is called the Four Halls of the Dragon Flames," he said, sweeping his hand toward the surrounding doors and the vast space around them. "As the name suggests, there is a total of four levels. From the inside to the outside, the mysteries and Laws contained within the totem stones grow progressively simpler."
He pointed toward the innermost section, a place barely visible beyond a set of tightly sealed crimson gates. "At the very center lies the Primal Hall. The Primal Hall has three chambers, and within each one rests a totem stone formed at the very beginning of the universe—when all that existed was pure chaos."
"These totem stones contain traces of chaos source energy, remnants of the universe’s first breath. They are more than mere relics—they touch upon the root of the existence itself. Should one fully comprehend them, they would step upon a path that leads to unparalleled insight into the Laws—the kind of comprehension that could rival the most enlightened beings in the entire Divine Realm."
Then his tone shifted slightly, becoming more grounded. "However," he continued, "this old man will be honest with all of you. With your current realm, stepping into those three chambers will yield little result. Even if you have heaven-defying perception, you may as well give up on trying to gain any meaningful benefits from them."
"Your current cultivation boundary is simply far too low. In fact, even many trial challengers from the second stage of inheritance would struggle to perceive anything from the Primal Hall’s totems. They are meant for those on the verge of understanding Law at its source."
The old man then gestured outward toward the next inner ring of chambers. "Surrounding the Primal Hall is the Supreme Hall. The Supreme Hall has three chambers, and each one holds an Ancient Dragon Totem Stone crafted by the former Masters of the Black Dragon Palace."
"These aren’t ordinary Masters—these totem stones were among their greatest works, forged in moments of true breakthrough. Within Obsidian Dragon City, their value is second only to the Primal Hall totems themselves."
He moved a few steps and extended his hand toward the outer ring. "Beyond the Supreme Hall lies the Profound Hall. It consists of ten chambers. The totem stones here were also left behind by Masters of the Black Dragon Palace, but these are works of lesser insight compared to those in the Supreme Hall."
Finally, he pointed toward the outermost ring of the hall. "And at the edge of all of this is the Novice Hall. It contains twenty chambers. The totem stones here were created by the previous Elders of the Black Dragon Palace."
"Do not underestimate them. Though these were created by Elders, many are remarkable in their own right. In fact, the best of these are not far behind the Earth Hall’s totems. Some have unique affinities or rare insights that might be a perfect match for you, depending on your nature."
He looked over the group with a firm gaze. "Choose wisely. The totem you resonate with will define how far you can walk on the path of Law in this trial. You have two hours."
And with that, the massive crimson doors began to unlock with deep, echoing rumbles, and the path to the Four Halls of the Great Dragon was opened.
"Max, you choose first!" the red-robed old man announced, his voice echoing through the vast chamber as he raised a hand and pointed directly at Max.
His tone carried no hint of favoritism—just authority and inevitability. "You must decide within two hours’ time." The weight of every gaze in the hall immediately shifted, locking onto Max once again, but he remained composed, his expression calm as still water.
"Yes!" Max responded clearly, without hesitation. Then, without glancing at anyone else, he stepped forward. His stride was firm, unshaken, and carried the momentum of someone who knew where he was going.
He didn’t even pause at the outermost Novice Hall, nor did he spare a single glance toward the chambers of the Profound Hall. He simply passed them by like they didn’t exist—like they were never an option to begin with.
Instead, he walked straight toward the second innermost ring—the Supreme Hall—where three chambers awaited, each said to hold the finest works of the peerless Masters of the Black Dragon Palace.
The moment Max’s back disappeared beyond the threshold of the Sky Hall, a wave of stifled silence spread across the hall like a dull thunderclap. All the gathered geniuses, whether from the mortal realms or even the Divine Realm, watched him go with expressions of envy, awe, and a touch of helpless frustration.
They couldn’t complain, couldn’t protest. It was the rule. The one who performed the best in the Ancient Dragon Scroll test would be given first choice of the totems, and Max hadn’t just performed well—he had shattered the standard entirely. So now, all they could do was stand in place and watch him claim what many of them had dreamed of.
