Chapter 247: The seven strongest part 1

The dawn was already gone. The lights of the Castle were starting to get more intense and on the tone of golden.

Most people were still to wake up and head to their crafts and contributions to society. Some were already awake, preparing themselves, particularly the ones of a higher social class that needed to pay extra care for their business.

However, someone was awake since the previous day and didn’t have proper rest since then.

He was waiting inside a room he rented in the city. There was no time to go to the Ridire’s Headquarters. They needed to settle some things down as fast as they could.

Beside the man, an annoying woman was eating something, doing strange noises with her mouth for no reason at all.

She was viciously rubbing her long pink hair, which stood up from the blond standard hair of the women.

Her clothes were still on the patterns of the Aesirs, though.

"Hey, little girl, stop being a bother," Ivar said, just to tease her. He was getting bored waiting for so long for his comrades to arrive.

"Don’t call me like this! I am not so short to be called a little girl, y’know? Like, I am a woman! I have almost twenty-eight, y’know?"

"You know this, you know that. You even talk like a teenager, that’s undeniable, Brenna."

She squinted her eyes to him, making an unpleased face that matched perfectly with the White mask she was wearing.

"Who are you to be saying something like this? You are just a mad guy who is addicted to adrenaline and doesn’t fear anything, after all." The Oracle Aesir said, turning her head to the other side like a child being spoiled.

Brenna was the type who loved to make fun of others but would get grumpy once it was about her.

Although she was being so harsh on Ivar because of his mental issue, she wasn’t too different from him.

Brenna didn’t act like a kid because of her personality or something. Her mind had incredible power, she was one of the most dangerous Aesirs to deal with, both in a fight and in other fields. Such power also messed with her mind.

She needed to be constantly under control, so she wouldn’t do a mess. Maybe Vick would end up putting her as a Sgail as well, so she could wear a Balck mask just like Ivar and dance in her palms.

"You have an issue similar to mine, don’t you? Who are you to say something like this to me? You are like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, disguising as an adult but being a child inside."

She snorted, turning even more her head, and stronger, to the point where Ivar could hear it snap.

"I don’t want to hear the opinion of a mad man, y’know!? Like, I have plenty of friends that find me a lot more mature than the other Aesirs."

"Like the voices on your head?"

"Yes, just like th--" She gave a pause. "H-hey! Don’t fool with me, y’know? You are rude! Ivar is rude!"

The man found it funny to keep teasing her for a while. However, the environment suddenly changed once the first Aesir invited to participate in the mission arrived.

"Hey, Ari. Punctual as always, don’t you?" Ivar got up from the chair he was sitting before, wanting to give him a handshake.

Nonetheless, Brenna got in front of him, hugging tightly the Aesir before he could get the chance to even talk with his other friend.

"Ari! You came!" She was laughing while hugging his toned and athletic body, just as a little girl would do with her parents.

"I was missing you, Ari! You should stop disappearing all of a sudden! By the way, I bet you are 15 seconds late!."

The Punctual Aesir took her off, giving a heavy sigh.

"Yeah, I came. And, no, not as punctual. I was a bit demotivated so I ended up showing here 2 seconds late than I should. I apologize for this."

Not even paying attention to his apologies, Ivar took him by the hand in a strong greeting.

"Did you see the others? Are they arriving?" The Wild Aesir asked.

"No way. They never come early. Those guys are just helpless. But I am sure that soon they will arrive."

"Any information about the boss?"

Ari denied with his head. Since it was just the expected, Ivar didn’t care about it. However, it was still a pity.

"Hey, hey, Ari! You finished that work you were doing? You know, that one! The Ace under your sleeve! You would fill all the floors wouldn’t you?" Brenna was excited, jumping all over the place and asking him disconnected questions.

"Ah! Got it. And yes, Bren, I finished working on it. I scheduled to finish it one week ago, and so I did. It’s just an ordinary detail by now, but it can make a huge difference in the next battles. Just watch me someday and you will see how powerful I have become."

Brenna kept talking about gossip with him. Ivar remained on the side, just listening, but not caring about Ari’s projects at all.

He just wanted the other guests to arrive and then start their meeting.

The next person to get there was Freygar. He had the usual cold and smart eyes, a good posture, and a very calm vibe.

Ivar didn’t like it on him. He felt like the guy should have more intensity.

"Freygar! How are you?"

"Frey!" Brenna shouted happily, forgetting about Ari and jumping towards him.

"Is that just a clone of your real self, Frey?"

"Of course it’s me! I couldn’t bring myself to make a clone--"

Another Freygar entered the room. He was composed but had a severe voice.

"I think I will need to correct you, my dear copy. I am the real one."

The first snapped back and they became to argue, letting Brenna in the middle of them completely confused.

A third Freygar appeared after a couple of minutes.

"Ok, you two, get out of here. I don’t need clones messing with this meeting." He started to push them out of the room.

""Who are you saying that it’s a clone!?"" They both shouted.

In a moment, just three of them were discussing, but soon 5 Aesirs were shouting between each other.

Ivar was finding it to be the most fun thing and started to laugh uncontrollably. Tears were coming out of his eyes.

Ari was just looking at them, more confused than Brenna, who was stuck in the middle of the five not knowing who she should believe.

"Ok, ok, ok! I will be the one choosing who will stay, then!" She yelled, drawing their attention.

"You." In less than one second, she answered, as if the right choice was obvious. "I think your hair has a less artificial blond color than the others!"

Although that wasn’t the most reasonable point for one to judge it, the other Freygars just accepted their cruel destiny and went off.

"Do you think they will ever find the real one?" Ivar mocked.

"I bet one hundred bucks that he is already dead."

"And I bet that the real one is stuck into a small cubic room somewhere and don’t see the sunlight for more than a decade."

They both sealed the gamble.

"Hey, Frey, most of your clones couldn’t talk before, right?" Brenna asked.

"Ah, well, that’s just when I craft them in a rush. When it’s well made, you can’t notice the difference at all. And I improved this technology a lot after losing my battle against Casper."

Since Freygar’s clones had a collective conscience, they couldn’t discern each other by their memories or thoughts as well.

The Cloned Aesir approached Ivar and Ari after talking a little bit with her.

They greeted each other as well. Not a strong handshake like both others did between each other, but something more formal.

"How are the bones and muscles, Ivar?"

"The implant is still making effect. Maybe I will need to pass for that torture again next year. But for now, I still can use the exoskeleton at full power."

He nodded his head, seeming satisfied.

"And how about your projects, Ari?" The Punctual Aesir responded with a thumbs up and proud eyes.

"And you, Brenna? How about your clairvoyance?"

"Yesterday I dreamed with a snake eating the Castle!"

The three Aesirs laughed at her comment. That was the major reason why they should be careful with her power.

Take everything too seriously could make them waste time, but ignoring it could be bad as well. It was very confusing.

After some time, the door of the room opened again, but it wasn’t an Aesir entering.

"Hi, you all." The White warrior entered there, greeting them with a brief wave.

Ari, Freygar, and Brenna looked awkwardly at him. The only one capable to understand the situation was Ivar.

"I said hi..."
