Chapter 307: Destroyed mansion

After they finished talking, and Casper assured Javir that he would fight for the right thing, he got dismissed from that place.

Javir helped him to go to the nearest Teleporting pad. All the way to there, they remained silent and didn’t even look at each other.

Casper needed to admit that he respected Javir for everything that he did before. That guy was in a situation where he didn’t have free will to do anything he wanted, but even so, he could pull through the masks’ restrictions and start a revolution, also as doing something that would change District 42 forever.

Of course, he had a few people helping him, but no one could ever imagine that a single man would be capable to do so much.

He gave hope for the folk of District 42. He helped them to look to a future where they would be able to see each other’s faces, to see their expressions, the smile of the ones they loved, and do whatever they wanted.

Javir was the very thing that Casper wanted to become. He was fighting every day to accomplish this matter. However, unfortunately, that old man ended going through a path that he hardly would get out. He decided to conquer his objectives with the blood of his enemies, even affording to kill innocent people and cause irreparable chaos.

That was not the way that Casper wanted to do things. That’s why he couldn’t work with the Frelsi.

Once they got in the Teleporting pad, Casper said goodbye to him in an awkward manner. Javir still had that calm expression on his face.

’After so many emotions that he let appear while telling about his story, I can’t see him just as a calm old man anymore. This man is more complex than he seems to be.’ He thought.

Casper turned to go to the Teleporting pad but was stopped when Javir said one more thing.

"Will you go to their side? Do you think that the Royal Family and the Jarls are the right ones on this whole story? Is order above freedom?"

Casper knew that his answer wouldn’t disappoint him.

"That’s the mindset that makes both the Frelsi and the Royal Family wrong. I come from a society where freedom and order are both together, or at least that’s what they try to achieve. If District 42 tries to do the same thing, then everything will be better, trust on me."

Javir had a complicated expression on his face.

"Is it possible to fight for both freedom and order? Can someone really unite these two at the same time in society?"

The White warrior nodded, turning to him with a confident smile on his face.

"Of course!" He pointed to himself. "I will be the man who will do this!"

Javir smiled faintly, nodding his head.

"I trust in you, then. Let’s see who is the strongest, Frelsi, Royalty, or... the White warrior."

Casper climbed the Teleporting pad, activating it and then saying the coordinates that would get him on the Castle again.

Javir remained on the same spot, looking to the empty teleporting pad.

"There is someone who could conquer these lands and I wouldn’t mind being his servant." He murmured to himself. His celestial blue eyes were as bright as they were before when he was younger.

"I think that we can do it, Inna... Drott... I think that the gods finally heard our prays and sent someone to help us." A single tear ran down his face and fell to the ground. "Our dream is still alive, after all."

...

When the confusing experience of teleporting ended, the White warrior found himself standing in the middle of the place that he wanted to go.

He was feeling kind of nostalgic for being finally there. After all, the last time when he visited the floor of the Royal Family was on his first day in District 42.

Casper could remember well that day. After a long battle, and upon seeing so many new and strange things, he was so tired that he could lay on the ground and sleep. He passed for harsh days since the very first second that he appeared in District 42. He swore to himself a lot of times that this place was cursed or something.

’In the end, I learned how to live like this, even though it’s hell painful.’

The White warrior finally looked around, trying to search for that big mansion where Vick brought him before. However, once he realized the state of everything around him, he got perplexed.

Casper’s jaw nearly dropped once he saw the destroyed buildings, the corpses on the ground, and the blood spread around. The marks of battle were everywhere. It was unmistakable, something big happened on that floor.

He also could easily spot the big dome that was covering the part of the floor with a major number of buildings, enjailing everything that was inside there.

’So, that’s how big their attack was, huh? I barely can believe it. Javir wasn’t joking around when he said that they would do whatever they should do to achieve their goals...’

Casper got worried about the Aesirs, and particularly Vick. He was wondering if the attack was being made just on that floor, or if others were targeted as well.

’If what I supposed was right, they wouldn’t go to residential floors, nor the ones with fewer people and visibility. The floors where they could shake the Castle if they conquered were the ones with the cities. I bet that I was right. I doubt they would be satisfied just invading the Royal Family’s place.’

Casper clenched his fists.

’If I don’t do it right, if I can’t pull through and do something about this war, then Frelsis and Jarls will fight until they destroy this district completely. I can’t hold on anymore. Just like in Halden, the deadline is short, so I need to hurry things.’

Casper looked to the destroyed mansion with resolution.
