Chapter 1114: Chapter 1115: Victory

"I can only do so much."

Guo Huai said with some helplessness. After all, even with the high-energy abilities bestowed by Feng Yuan, his own strength was still limited; he didn’t have the capability to make full use of those high positions, and as for something resembling an aiming system, it was nothing more than a high-energy creation modeled after those in the Star Ocean.

Only then did he realize that the legends about the nameless one were probably all true. Just the omnipotent high-energy alone was enough for Feng Yuan to accomplish most things.

"Using this aiming system? It seems possible, but..."

Gitalien glanced at the transparent, fish-shaped creatures outside the azure crystal barrier; those creatures kept hitting the azure hexagonal crystal walls continuously. While maintaining this barrier, it was impossible to utilize charged attacks. Relying solely on Delong Tower... probably wouldn’t be enough to completely deal with these things.

"Let’s do it together!"

Agunas shook the Ancient Book in his hand and spoke to Delong Tower next to him. Veronia, although silent, gripped her umbrella firmly. Xiao Ji wanted to act as well but was held back by Feng Yuan, who pressed his hand on her head to signal not to be impetuous. Lorna clenched her fists and hesitated for a moment without speaking.

Behind Delong Tower, the Starlit Sea began to condense once more. Veronia lifted her umbrella and gesticulated special gestures, chanting something under her breath. Agunas, book in hand, focused intently on the multi-eyed creature which seemed not to have noticed the oddities here, casually floating without any particular action.

Having completed his charge, Delong Tower took the initiative to strike. Behind him, the Starlit Sea swiftly contracted into twelve blue-green orbs gleaming with starlight. Massive water columns burst forth from the orbs, striking the multi-eyed creature hard, the powerful currents of water creating several large gaps in its body.

Before the creature could recover, Veronia swung her umbrella fiercely, unleashing streams of golden Rune arrows towards the multi-eyed beast. The sky filled with golden arrows caused countless splashes in this fiery red world, a visualization of arrows piercing invisible, transparent fish-shaped creatures and wrecking them.

The golden Rune arrows were unaffected by those transparent fish-shaped creatures; undiminished in speed, they shot towards the multi-eyed beast. Already torn apart by Delong Tower’s water columns, the multi-eyed creature was further dismantled into tiny fragments by the golden Rune arrows. As the fragments wriggled, attempting to reassemble, Agunas raised a claw and chanted,

"Annihilate!"

Stele appeared at the side of the multi-eyed creature, followed by bamboo slips, Ancient Books, until they transitioned into modern books indistinguishable from those of the present. With a squeeze of the claw, the stele and other items burst suddenly, yet the explosive energy merely scattered a part before it furiously collapsed around the fragments, vanishing them from sight. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

"It’s somewhat like Spatial Annihilation, but not quite the same."

Gitalien exclaimed with surprise. Agunas’s move resembled the True Spatial Annihilation that could truly destroy space completely. However, as Agunas was a Time Series Divine Beast, even with the assistance of a Golden Tome Page, it seemed unlikely he could replicate this Ultimate Move, let alone master it. This manoeuvre could only be controlled by Space Series Divine Beasts and had to encompass the whole world.

In this peculiar fiery red space, even Gitalien himself could not be certain he could perform True Spatial Annihilation here, as this place was gradually slipping from the world’s control, its authority weakening.

"The cost is somewhat great."

Feng Yuan looked at Agunas in surprise. Naturally, he could recognize how Agunas achieved such effect. As Agunas launched his Ultimate Move, the obstructive creature in front was completely eradicated.

"What exactly was that?"

Veronia frowned slightly looking towards Agunas, ready to deal with the multi-eyed creature’s Spirit Body after its physical body was destroyed, yet it seemed Agunas had completely obliterated the creature. Although it was unclear how Agunas achieved this, it was evident that such a powerful Ultimate Move could not be without consequences.

"By summoning a small part of the River of Time, and using the destructive power of the annihilation of the River of Time to completely shatter that region, the toll was not insignificant."

Feng Yuan spoke out after observing Agunas. Given the special circumstances and the limited actual impact, it was necessary to let Veronia and the others understand what exactly Agunas had done; otherwise, if Agunas got addicted to using this move, it would be problematic.

Even if it obliterated only an inconspicuous ripple on the River of Time, and even if the corresponding area and temporal point had no ties to any living being, how many things that can be sacrificed were there? The annihilated region would never recover. If Agunas went too far, the entire River of Time might fall into turmoil.

"Rest assured, I have only chosen a region where no beings have ever appeared; even if that area were completely erased, it wouldn’t cause much impact."

Agunas glanced at Feng Yuan and, seeing Veronia and the others looking towards it, Agunas flicked its tail and said,

"I will not be charmed by such terrible power. I am a guardian of time, not a destroyer."

It naturally understood Feng Yuan’s concerns and why he had said those words. It also understood that such power should not be used lightly unless absolutely necessary, for addiction to it could wreak great havoc upon the world.

"The situation is urgent this time. If it continues like this, I fear the real world will suffer severe damage."

After some thought, Agunas explained. It had also noticed the mismatched and colossal spiritual power inside the multi-eyed creatures, knowing that if they proceeded with a normal attack, they might have to face the creatures’ third form, which could extend the fight indefinitely.

The Abyss’s destruction of the world would not stop during this time. Should the destruction be severe, Agunas wasn’t certain whether the real world could be fully restored to its original state; after all, the invaders were attacking the Data Domain, which, though empty, had no Divine Beasts to protect it.

Should serious destruction occur, the Data Domain might be unable to recover for a long time, and the data-based Spirit Beasts would likely be affected.

"Worried it can’t be restored? It’s true, areas eroded by the Abyss get erased from the river of time and can’t be restored. But luckily, the Abyss has mostly corroded the Data Domain, which isn’t exactly hard to restore. At the very least, even the data areas possess the capacity to rebuild."

Feng Yuan looked at Agunas with an understanding expression and then, flicking his tail, Agunas asked,

"Even so, do you have absolute certainty that you can completely restore the Data Domain to its original state?"

"No, it can only be rebuilt. Don’t even think about restoration. If it were so easy to counteract the Abyss’s corrosion, it would not be so detested and feared."

Shrugging nonchalantly, Feng Yuan continued, "If it were the real world being invaded, I might consider unleashing power to deal with the Abyss. In the Data Domain, however, there’s no rush; it’s a relatively new realm, and completely rebuilding it wouldn’t have too severe consequences."

"Let’s go, the sooner we resolve this, the sooner Little Crocodile can rest easy."

After glancing at Agunas, Feng Yuan said to Gitalien with a smile, who, after a moment of silence, propelled the azure hexagonal crystal wall forward.

"Have you noticed that something seems missing?"

Veronia questioned while eyeing Lorna atop Feng Yuan’s head with suspicion. Feng Yuan turned his head to look at Veronia and asked,

"Missing what?"

"Those branches are gone."

Narrowing her eyes, Veronia stared at Lorna and said. It was always skeptical about Lorna; although she was also a remnant from the Mythical Era, it was precisely because of this that Veronia did not dare to underestimate her. After all, how many could survive from the Mythical Era to the present, and how many of them were simple creatures? Of course, that excluded the foolish crocodile.

Sensing malice, Agunas looked around with a hint of confusion but could not identify the source.

"Are you referring to those branches that were eroding the Data Domain?"

Glancing around, Feng Yuan seemed to understand something and pointed at the blood-red world beside them with a chuckle,

"Aren’t those things right there?"
