Divine Beast Creator-Chapter 2113 - 2114: Questions
Qi Chen thought seriously and shook his head in confusion, saying,
"I really don’t know what this thing has to do with me. Surely that voice isn’t implying that the Bright Lord is me? I’ve never done such a thing."
With her right hand gently supporting her chin, Veronia looked at Qi Chen and said,
"Perhaps it’s a coincidence, or maybe there’s some connection we don’t know about?"
"That’s unclear, but this thing is really... tsk, it sure knows how to pick its timing."
Observing the stone sculpture in his hand, Qi Chen looked helpless. Although he didn’t think this thing was really related to him, the strange phenomena it exhibited had somewhat exceeded the limits of Agunas and the others.
At least now, when Agunas asked Lorraine Tower if anything unusual was detected in the Time River, the other party asked if something had happened.
Recalling the previous fluctuation, Agunas had a bad feeling.
Thinking it over, Qi Chen tossed the statue into his backpack, intending not to deal with it, at least for now.
Agunas watched Qi Chen throw the statue into his backpack, wanting to speak but hesitated. It always felt this matter was urgent, but unfortunately, it likely involved Qi Chen, so it couldn’t say much, nor could it investigate actively.
Don’t be fooled by Qi Chen’s usual display of strength, which seemed similar to theirs. Agunas knew that Qi Chen’s true strength was beyond their reach. If Qi Chen didn’t refrain from using that power, the world would have been turned upside down by now.
Originally, it should have trusted Qi Chen’s own judgment that this matter didn’t concern him. However, after the last incident, Agunas realized that even the slightest bit of Qi Chen’s overlooked power could have a massive impact on this world.
Yet this time was different from before. At least, the last time, the other party hadn’t created a long-standing culture, even if it existed only in a small town.
However, remembering the power of temporal correction, Agunas felt a bit uneasy. Could the Bright Lord of Kui Shan Town have popped up abruptly?
Qi Chen wasn’t aware of Agunas’s thoughts. After tossing the statue into his backpack, he put it out of his mind, while Veronia, sitting beside him, suddenly asked,
"Speaking of it, that voice seemed a bit interesting, don’t you think?"
"If you could choose again, what would you pick?"
"Choose again? Choose what?"
Qi Chen looked puzzled at Veronia, not understanding her meaning. She turned her head and chuckled softly, saying,
"Who knows~ If it were me, it might be before stepping into Mitradite~"
"I don’t know about Little Crocodile, but I wasn’t born in Mitradite, you know~"
"Unfortunately, back then, Mitradite’s prosperity moved me, and I made choices I can’t tell if they were right or wrong..."
"Joining Mitradite, I made many regrets... Sometimes I wonder, if I hadn’t joined Mitradite initially, would there have been fewer regrets..."
"Hmm, you mean like that?"
Qi Chen touched his chin and glanced at Veronia. He hadn’t anticipated this was what she meant. He thought about it and shook his head with a smile, saying,
"Regrets? Perhaps I wouldn’t. After all, back then, there was no choice, no, that’s not right..."
"Even though it was the end of the world, if I truly interfered with my power, I might have been able to change the world’s direction..."
"Hehe, but so what? To erase a complete timeline for this purpose, I... can’t do it..."
Agunas remained silent, never expecting Qi Chen to possess such strength. Although it knew Qi Chen was powerful, erasing a complete timeline...
The chaos they were in was only a point on the timeline. Despite Agunas and the others being able to traverse the Time River, it was merely the world’s own Time River.
Agunas knew well that Qi Chen referred to the Time River formed by the endless chaos’s development and evolution.
Agunas and the world to which it belonged seemed so insignificant before this Time River. Even with all their might, they likely couldn’t make the slightest ripple.
As for why Qi Chen said it was erasing a complete timeline, it’s because once evolution begins, the future path is already set. Within the same evolutionary round, the number of timelines is finite. Even if an additional timeline emerges, life on that timeline would have to compete with life on the old timeline for the right to survive.
Only the victorious timeline qualifies to exist. The failing timeline wouldn’t even be recorded.
"Really, it makes me wonder if I should envy or pity you~"
Veronia teased Qi Chen with a warm smile. Gently shaking his head, Qi Chen gazed at the flowing water, saying,
"Perhaps heading in another direction would be happier. But unfortunately, we’ve walked this path for too long. Going back to that original crossroads and taking a new direction would erase all the experiences, friends, and interesting events we’ve encountered along the way. Would there be new regrets then?"
"You have a point. If I hadn’t joined Mitradite, perhaps he wouldn’t have appeared. Back then, during the Mythical Era... it wasn’t so peaceful."
Slowly closing her eyes and leaning back slightly on a stone bench, Veronia recalled the people and Spirit Beasts from back then, while Tamur looked on at Qi Chen and Veronia, pondering,
Another choice?
Perhaps, as he said, it wouldn’t necessarily be a good thing.
"How’s it going, having fun?"
After a while of resting, Qi Chen continued to wander around with Xiao Ji and the others. Seeing Qi Chen, Qi Chen walked over curiously as they waved, he asked, and the other pointed to the shopfront, saying,
"Aren’t you going to take a look?"
"What’s this?"
Prompted by Qi Chen, Qi Chen glanced briefly at the antique-style shopfront, surprised to see dozens of water spheres neatly arranged on the stall extending onto the street. Inside these spheres, various ornamental fish swam about.
"Such unique things, they seem to be some sort of spirit mineral-made water membrane? But why is it spherical?"
Curiously approaching, Veronia tried to grab a water sphere, only to discover that it maintained its spherical shape when placed on display but transformed like a Slime when she tried to hold it.
However, once she held the sphere, it reverted to its round shape.
"It seems to be an effect of that thin membrane. Is this for promotion?"
After examining it briefly, Qi Chen guessed the true purpose of the thing.
Using it for ornamental fish is a minor function. Its real use is likely for transporting special aquatic products.
Even though transporting live fish isn’t difficult due to the existence of Spirit Beasts, some special kinds of fish are different.
Those fish might not be particularly delicate, but they can’t endure long-distance transport, leading to drastically different prices in various regions.
This membrane for ornamental fish resembles plastic film but with Spirit Beast power, it allows easy penetration through the membrane. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
If Qi Chen’s guess is correct, despite any damage, it can restore itself with an energy supply.
Yet, these aren’t its most crucial features.
The real issue with transporting these delicate fish is the water’s inability to sustain severe vibration. Thus, to transport them, Space Gates or special vibration-absorbing vehicles are used.
In contrast, the water sphere didn’t disturb the small fish inside, maintaining its internal state.
This device is better for transporting fish sensitive to vibration than using a Space Gate or other methods, requiring less reliance on Spirit Beasts.
Production cost is unclear, but Qi Chen estimated it couldn’t be too high; otherwise, Liantang Town wouldn’t use it for ornamental fish.
Recommending it to others could be done in other ways, without needing such measures.
Widespread use is only possible if the cost is low enough to justify it.
After tossing the water sphere and seeing the fish swimming undisturbed, Qi Chen placed it back, saying,
"It’s quite interesting."
