Chapter 349: Summoning a Level 5 Unit

Meanwhile, Xiaoyu, who reached the Warchief, roared. A furious blend of wind and lightning qi erupted from her gauntlet as she slammed a thunderous punch into the Warchief’s leg.

The massive brute stumbled and furiously roared. Its voice was so loud it created tremors within the vast chamber. Its bone armor cracked under her attack but it held and it instantly sent a kick in her direction.

Liu Xiaoyu had to block it by crossing her arms, which sent her hurtling towards the other side of the chamber.

Luckily, her trajectory was in Lin Mo’s direction. He caught her successfully but he wasn’t able to stop the momentum completely, causing them both to roll on the ground.

The young woman ended up holding onto him as she supported herself up before saying, "Boss, thanks for the catch. But you shouldn’t do that, you know? Your bones are still fragile."

"What about a simple ’thank you’?" Lin Mo flicked her forehead, which Xiaoyu didn’t dodge again.

"Hehe. I’ll do that later. Can you stand?"

"Don’t worry about me. Hold that one back. Use the sticker seal and enhance yourself too. You can’t keep relying on your Heavenly Physique. You need our store’s cheat items."

"I’m just about to do that, Boss. Watch me. So, prepare your Level 5 Unit. I want to see it in action soon."

"Sure sure."

Liu Xiaoyu pulled out a [Spirit Embodiment Sticker Seal] depicting a winged valkyrie and slapped it onto her arm. Almost instantly, the charging Bonecrushers and skirmishers who were going to take advantage of their plight were sent back by the pressure emitted by him, half of them even turning into green mist.

Lin Mo watched as she dashed back to block the Warchief from hindering Jiang Jianxin and Xiaoping. Her Celestial Idol summons floating next to her, playing their instruments and singing sharp melodies.

Meanwhile, Jiang Jianxin’s swords formed a dazzling wheel of azure light and began carving deep gouges into one of the Soulbinders, making it shriek and convulse.

Xiaoping, with an agility close to a spirit fox, ducked under a wide swing from an Elite Bonecrusher and countered with a precise gauntlet strike that shattered its bone club.

Thirty seconds later, another card flickered into existence. A Level 1 Unit [Fierce Wolf].

Lin Mo gritted his teeth as he tucked it along with the other currently unplayable unit cards. His luck was still not doing its job.

A bead of sweat trickled down his temple as he could feel the cumulative strain of the corrosive energy and constant spiritual draining from the Soulbinders.

The Warchief, having been blocked by Xiaoyu, unleashed a powerful [Corrosive Blast] that blanketed half the chamber.

Xiaoyu braced herself, her body glowing fiercely, but Jiang Jianxin had to swiftly deploy a Spell Card from her Celestial Duel Gear, the [Arcane Veil], to protect Xiaoping and her summons. But it still managed to take down two, leaving behind the [Camellia Sword Maiden] who’s still supplementing her sword skills.

The uninjured Soulbinder intensified its chanting and more spectral chains reformed, aimed directly at Lin Mo. They seemed to be intelligent enough to know what they’re planning.

He had to use his [Stellar Cascade] to deflect those chains, the high heaven-grade quality of the weapon was truly showing its might. His current cultivation had long defied the convention of strength within the Realm of Nine Heavens.

Thirty seconds later, the next card revealed itself. Another Spell Card [Celestial Surge]. This time, it was a neutral card not belonging to any deck.

Without any hesitation, he used it, enhancing everyone, even Xiaoyu and Jiang Jianxin’s summoned units.

He exhaled slowly, trying to keep his composure, his spiritual energy reserves dipping dangerously low. He only had a few more turns before his own spiritual energy ran too low to maintain his Celestial Field.

Liu Xiaoyu sent him a thumbs up despite raggedly breathing as she launched herself at the Warchief again, engaging it in a desperate, close-quarters brawl.

Jiang Jianxin’s swords danced around the Soulbinders, constantly disrupting their chants and forcing them on the defensive, but their resilience was unnerving. The two hunchbacked, green-skinned creatures were covering each other, allowing the injured one to slightly recover from her attacks.

Xiaoping, despite his fatigue, continued his relentless assault on the Elite Bonecrushers, his gauntlets smashing through their crude armor, leaving trails of green mist as he thinned their number.

Although they’re seemingly getting pushed back, the number of smaller mobs gradually dwindled, giving them more breathing room.

Then, after another agonizing thirty seconds, Lin Mo’s heart throbbed as a shimmering golden border appeared on the newly-drawn card.

Then, a wave of pure celestial energy radiated from it as it fully formed in his hand.

His lips couldn’t help but curve up into a grin as hope surged through him like a torrent.

He saw the majestic illustration of a horned beast. It was finally here.

The Level 5 Unit of the [Celestial Beast] deck!

With the much-needed card now in his hand, Lin Mo wasted no time.

He simultaneously recalled the four summons back to his vicinity and sacrificed them to trigger the requirement in summoning the Level 5 Unit..

Even the green-skinned creatures were surprised as they saw their forms dissolved into motes of pure spiritual energy that streamed back into his Celestial Duel Gear, bolstering his reserves just enough for the impending summon.

"[Jadevein Qilin]!" Lin Mo exclaimed as his voice cut through the chaos. Exhilaration on top of desperation could be picked up by it.

He slammed the [Jadevein Qilin] card onto his Celestial Field, pouring every ounce of his remaining spiritual energy and Dimension Essence into the summon.

The ground trembled violently as a blinding emerald light erupted from Lin Mo’s Celestial Field, forcing everyone, friend and foe alike, to shield their eyes. The oppressive foreign energy in the chamber recoiled, momentarily subdued by the purity of the divine summon.

Normally, a Level 5 Unit summoned by a Celestial Duelist would only have the strength equivalent to a single major stage above them. However, Lin Mo’s case was seemingly different. freeweɓnøvel~com

The pressure emitted by his Celestial Duel Gear became enhanced enough to rival what the Warchief and its Soulbinders were emitting. Not to mention, it swept away the corrosive Highland Energy permeating within the chamber.

Then, a massive, majestic beast materialized, its form radiating ancient power and tranquil wisdom. It stood over fifteen feet tall with a body like polished jade and scales glimmering with intricate patterns that resembled ancient runic veins.

Spiraling horns of pure emerald protruded from its head, and its mane flowed like a river of starlight. Its eyes, deep pools of emerald, fixed on the Warchief with an ancient, unwavering gaze.

The [Jadevein Qilin]. One of the four Level 5 units of the [Celestial Beasts] deck. Its presence alone caused the corrosive Highland Energy to recoil, creating a pocket of pure spiritual energy around Lin Mo and his group, who retreated to his side.

The Warchief, mid-swing with its massive warhammer, froze. Its primal roar died in its throat, replaced by a guttural whimper of fear. The two Soulbinders shrieked, their spectral chains dissolving into smoke, their chanting abruptly silenced as they tried to flee. Even Jiang Jianxin and Liu Xiaoyu, hardened by countless battles, gasped, their eyes wide with awe.

"Shopkeeper Boss! That is so cool!" Xiaoping exclaimed with excitement as he pointed at the massive summon.

Meanwhile, Liu Xiaoyu bitterly smiled as she recalled the first time Lin Mo summoned it. Back then, it didn’t have this pressure because it was still nothing but a part of the game. Nevertheless, its majestic figure, coupled with its aura, was enough for her to believe that this fight was over.
