"Don't tell me you went and robbed a bank behind my back?" As he spoke, Liu Ergou stepped forward to check their injuries.

Li Dajiang gave a wry smile. "Brother Ergou, you really are forgetful," he replied. "Don't you remember? Just a couple of days ago, some guys came looking for trouble. They were the ones who beat us up."

Li Dajiang's reminder jolted his memory, and he smacked his forehead. "Ah, I remember now! But didn't I tell you guys to come see me afterward to get your wounds treated? Why didn't you show up?" he said. "Since you didn't come, I completely forgot about it. My memory is terrible!"

As he spoke, Liu Ergou finished examining one of the men. After confirming it was only a minor injury, he pulled out several silver needles and began treating the man with his True Qi.

The wound on the man's body faded at a rate visible to the naked eye, and in less than a minute, he was fully healed.

Without giving Liu Ergou a chance to respond, Li Dajiang waved to the men behind him. "Everyone, let's help Brother Ergou move!

"Just don't touch Sister-in-law's room. Let Brother Ergou handle that himself!"

The men behind him nodded and filed into the house to start helping him move. Liu Ergou was pleasantly surprised by Li Dajiang's words. I didn't expect the kid to be so considerate.

As everyone got busy moving, Ning Hua, who was standing beside Liu Ergou, suddenly remembered something. "Er Gou, I almost forgot! Master told you to go see him once you're done here," she said. "He had me stay behind specifically to give you this message.

"And I completely forgot!"

Ning Hua's reminder made it click for Liu Ergou. That's right, there's someone I poisoned who's waiting for the antidote.

At that thought, Liu Ergou said no more and hurried toward Swallow Li's place with Ning Hua.

The moment he knocked, the door swung open to reveal Feng Chunling standing on the threshold, her eyes red and swollen. His heart ached at the sight of her.

Forgetting they were standing outside, he reached out and embraced her, gently patting her on the back. "Auntie," he comforted her, "I know you're heartbroken, but the dead can't be brought back to life. You have to try and stay strong.

"Besides, you still have Yang Mei. You have to take care of yourself for her sake."

Feng Chunling didn't say anything. Instead, she broke free from his embrace, quickly pulled him into her yard, and shut the gate behind them.
