Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law-Chapter 741 - 744: Chaos
With that thought, Liu Ergou sighed. "Honestly, Sis Jiajia, you're unbelievable!"
"Alright, alright! I'll tell you the truth, okay?" Liu Ergou grumbled, starting the car. He continued, "Captain Shi just asked if I wanted to join their Patrol Bureau as external personnel. You know, a temp."
Hearing this, Han Jiajia instantly perked up. "Ah! So that's what it was about! Er Gou, did you agree? You'd be joining the Patrol Bureau! I bet you said yes!"
However, Liu Ergou just shook his head. "Join? As if! I'm not becoming a temp. With that kind of time, I'd rather be at home sipping tea!"
His refusal took Han Jiajia by surprise. "What? Er Gou, why would you refuse?" she asked, puzzled. "I heard the chief say the Patrol Bureau is extremely powerful. When they're on a mission, everyone else has to give them priority!"
Seeing her confused expression, Liu Ergou shamelessly pinched the soft flesh on her stomach. With a pitying look, he sighed, "Tsk, tsk. You eat so much, but none of the nutrition finds its way to your brain. It all goes straight to your belly. Look at this!"
Han Jiajia immediately flared up. "Jerk! I'm not fat at all! And what fat are you talking about? Don't just make things up!" she bristled. "And stop changing the subject! Tell me why you won't join the Patrol Bureau!"
"Sis Jiajia, didn't you hear me? A temp!" Liu Ergou explained. "Look, if you knew what 'temp' meant, I wouldn't have to say anything else. If you don't know, then I don't feel like explaining, because you wouldn't get it anyway."
As soon as Han Jiajia heard the word "temp," she understood. "A temp, huh? Well, in that case, it makes sense you didn't join!" she said, leaning back in her seat. "Being a temp is the worst. Like you said, you'd be better off relaxing at home with some tea!"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou said nothing more and suddenly slammed his foot on the gas. The car shot forward so violently that it took Han Jiajia a moment to react.
"What are you doing? Why'd you suddenly floor it?!" Han Jiajia snapped, regaining her composure. "Do you realize that's reckless driving? Be careful!"
"Hehehe," Liu Ergou chuckled. "Wondering why I sped up, Sis Jiajia? Our little chat is over. Now it's time to get down to business. Seriously, it's been too long. I've really missed you."
Upon hearing "get down to business," Han Jiajia immediately knew what he meant. Her face turned red, and she fell silent.
Seeing her reaction, Liu Ergou laughed heartily and drove even faster.
Soon, the car pulled up to the hotel Liu Ergou had booked. He hopped out, swept Han Jiajia into his arms, and eagerly headed inside.
Held in his arms, Han Jiajia was extremely embarrassed. "Hey! What are you doing, Er Gou? Put me down! Someone will see! Hurry!"
Liu Ergou completely ignored her, carrying her briskly toward their room.
In just a few minutes, they reached the pre-booked room. He locked the door and drew the curtains. With a surge of strength, Liu Ergou tossed Han Jiajia onto the bed before pouncing on top of her.
Looking down at her, Liu Ergou grinned. "Hehehe, Sis Jiajia. It's just the two of us now. Are you prepared for the next seven days?"
At his words, Han Jiajia's shy expression instantly twisted into one of horror. "What? Seven days?!" she shrieked. "Er Gou, are you trying to kill me?!"
"Hahaha! Nonsense, how could I ever bear to kill you?" he laughed. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Then his hands became a blur, and in the space of a few breaths, her clothes had vanished, leaving her completely stunned by the astonishing speed. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
However, Han Jiajia quickly recovered. "Er Gou, don't be in such a rush..." she whispered. "Um, I just got back from that mission and I'm covered in sweat. Let me take a shower first, and after I'm clean, we can... mmmph!"
Before she could finish, Liu Ergou's mouth captured hers. A long moment passed before they finally broke apart.
Unable to wait another second, Liu Ergou executed a perfect kip-up, landing on his feet. He then scooped Han Jiajia up and carried her toward the bathroom. "Oh, that's right, Sis Jiajia. I'd almost forgotten," he said as he walked. "You were on a mission, and I just got out of a fight. I'm definitely sweaty enough to need a wash too! Come on, I'll join you!"
With that, he strode purposefully into the bathroom.
Han Jiajia, meanwhile, was simply stunned in his arms. Wait, this isn't right. Weren't we supposed to move on to the next step? Why are we suddenly taking a shower? This isn't how I imagined this at all!
By the time she snapped out of her daze, Liu Ergou had already carried her into the bathroom and turned on the shower. The warm water cascaded over them, and they both instinctively closed their eyes. The peace lasted for barely a minute. Unable to control himself any longer, Liu Ergou let one hand wander mischievously up her slender waist. Soon, the situation in the bathroom spiraled out of control.
The sound of splashing water filled the small room, a chaotic symphony that continued for a long, long time before finally fading away. By the time silence returned, it was already afternoon.
Han Jiajia was curled up in Liu Ergou's arms, scrolling through her phone as she wondered what they should eat. They had been too busy with the mission to eat breakfast that morning, and they'd come straight to the hotel afterward without getting a single bite.
Just as Han Jiajia was engrossed in her search, Liu Ergou's phone suddenly rang. He glanced at the screen and was surprised to see it was Lu Shuangyue.
Confused, he answered. "Hello? Shuang Yue, what's up?"
The voice that replied, however, wasn't Lu Shuangyue's. It was Fu Ya.
"What's the matter, Er Gou? Can't I call you just to say hello?"
