Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 1201: Return to Reality
"Mom, what’s wrong?"
"July Quinn" saw Laura Quinn frowning at the empty bowl.
"Nothing, nothing at all!"
Laura Quinn remembered that July wasn’t very fond of eating bird’s nest and other supplements.
She often delayed as much as she could, only succumbing after much cajoling and persuasion.
But today, she devoured it all in one go.
Was she worried Laura had been busy all day and wanted her to rest quickly?
Or...
Afraid the more time spent alone, the more she’d slip up, "July Quinn" quickly shoved the bowl into Laura Quinn’s hands: "Mom, I’m going upstairs to lie down for a bit. You should rest early too."
"Okay, goodnight sweetheart."
"Goodnight Mom."
"July Quinn" turned and went upstairs.
Laura Quinn watched that familiar figure and eventually dismissed her doubts.
"How could I question my baby’s intentions? How silly!" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Laura Quinn shook her head, handed the bowl to a servant, and went back to her room to rest.
However, what she didn’t know was that the "July Quinn" who had appeared quite composed earlier didn’t know which room to return to.
But she was smart enough not to give herself away.
She simply called out to a passing servant: "My throat feels a bit off, could you make me a cup of lemon honey water and bring it to my room?"
When the servant brought the honey water to her room, she followed them in.
"Okay, just leave it here. You can go now."
She displayed no trace of panic the whole time, as if the room truly belonged to her.
But as soon as the servant left, she quickly started rummaging around the room.
Yes!
Both Jennings’s threat earlier and Laura Quinn’s surprise made her very uneasy.
She felt it was extremely dangerous to continue impersonating July Quinn.
Worse yet, it might soon cost her life.
So she decided to quickly take all of July Quinn’s valuable jewelry and cash and leave at once.
Like the diamond headband July often wore, mocked by Nina Quinn as tacky and gaudy, and the colorful stone bracelet, could be useful.
They previously assumed July didn’t have money, so these items were surely fakes.
But now, with July’s multiple identities uncovered, each one proving the items were genuine.
So, whatever piece she got, selling it would ensure her a life of ease and security.
Moreover, with her recent makeover to resemble July Quinn, Joy Quinn thought she’d lead an even more carefree life if she could escape.
Yes, after being taken by Anna, Joy Quinn underwent surgery at Joseph’s research facility to transform into July Quinn.
Combined with her understanding of July, mimicking her was as easy as pie.
In fact, Joy Quinn hoped to pass herself off as the real deal at the ball, capture Kyle Keaton, and thereafter use him to escape from Anna and Jennings.
Kyle Keaton was truly outstanding and wealthy.
The key was that he genuinely loved July Quinn.
Everything matched half of her future fantasies perfectly.
But Jennings’s threats forced her back to reality.
With Kyle Keaton’s personality, if Jennings exposed her deception, her life would surely be at risk from him.
So, after much consideration, Joy Quinn decided grabbing the money and running was easier and safer than being someone else’s puppet and constantly risking her life.
She planned to scoop up jewelry from July’s room and head straight to the nearby docks.
She had heard there were boats there for smuggling.
But, damn it, after searching for ages, she still hadn’t found any valuable jewelry in July’s room.
"Did July not bring any jewelry to this new place? How could there be nothing?"
Joy Quinn was nearly ready to smash things in frustration, but restrained herself to avoid cleaning up the mess and not attract suspicion.
"Could it be all in her mom’s room?"
Calming down, Joy Quinn thought this was highly likely.
