Doomsday Life Simulator System In A Zombie Apocalypse World Update Era-Chapter 122: Rule Horror Maze Rules
[Looking at the signboard, you started reading its introduction and rules.]
{Welcome to the Rule Horror Maze, where your wish can come true! Only those who exit the maze and survive can be eligible to wish for any item they want (limited at Peak Platinum grade). This maze is one of the scenic spots of the Rule Horror Amusement Park.}
{We know there are bound to be those trolls who’ll ruin everyone’s fun, so we decided to impose some rules to follow so that you and other explorers can enjoy the maze to its fullest!}
{Rule Horror Maze Rules}
{1. You are an Explorer. Your goal is to find a way out of the maze and leave it. Don’t forget to wear your Explorer outfit so that they won’t bother you.}
{2. No one aside from Explorers is alive. Anyone inside the maze other than the Explorers is just props, don’t mind them.}
{3. You can trust them.}
{4. Do not trust them!}
{5. If you ever find yourself lost, always look up and being lost will no longer become a problem.}
{6. There are no amusement park staff in this maze. You are seeing things.}
{7. Do not buy anything from the Merch Seller as it’s unauthorized to sell amusement park merchandise in the Rule Horror Maze. Immediately report him to the amusement park staff.}
{8. All amusement park staff wear a red uniform. If you see any staff wearing a black uniform, ignore them!}
{9. You are an Explorer, do not forget that! No matter what anyone says, you aren’t an amusement park staff member nor a security guard!}
{10. Use amusement park coins to purchase food from the vending machine. To prevent Explorers from starving themselves, the Rule Horror Amusement Park has placed vending machines in the Rule Horror Maze.}
{11. If the price is right, the amusement park staff will do anything.}
{12. If a prop is malfunctioning, be sure to report it to the amusement park staff. But if you can deal with it, neutralizing it and handing it to the security guard will grant you amusement park coins.}
{13. Do not enter the Rule Horror Maze, the wish is a lie!}
[The more you read the rules, the more your facial expressions contorted in disbelief.]
["These rules must have been tampered with by one of those rule horrors. Some of the rules contradict each other."]
["I’m pretty sure if those Train Conductors entered this maze, they’ll undoubtedly die. They don’t have any innate talents that can discern the authenticity of the Rule Horror Maze Rules, let alone survive an encounter with an anomalous creature."]
["Fortunately for me, I don’t need to do trial and error to figure out the authenticity of these rules. I might not even need the rules to begin with."]
[However, just in case, you still decided to figure out the rules just so that it won’t come back to bite you in the ass in the future.]
[Using your trusty Hint Prompt (Gold) simulation talent, you used it on the Rule Horror Maze Rule signboard.]
{Hint Prompt: Rule 1 is mostly false. You are not an Explorer, you are a Train Conductor! Do not forget that! However, you will wear the identity of an Explorer, and any props or staff there will treat you as such. Do not let this temporary identity assimilate you.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 2 is correct. All staff and props are not alive in the sense that some of them are cursed with the death status by a certain rule horror.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 3 is referring to the rule horrors. You can’t trust them, so it’s false. Rule 4 is true. Rule 5 is a trap; looking above will allow you to see the Forgotten Mist, which will make you lose your sense of self. After losing your sense of self, escaping the maze will naturally no longer be your problem.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 6 is false. There are indeed amusement park staff. They exist. As for Rule 7, it’s mostly false. One of the purposes of the Amusement Park Coins is to purchase merchandise from the Merch Seller since most, if not all, merchandise has special effects that can aid your progression in the Rule Horror Maze.
However, it’s not completely a lie, as you cannot buy Merch from the Merch Seller using any currency other than Merch Seller. If the Merch Seller ever offers a barter, immediately decline, as you’ll trigger his rule attack mechanism if you barter with him.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 8 is true. Rule 9 is the truth, but it’s also intentionally misleading. While you are indeed wearing the identity of an Explorer while inside the Rule Horror Maze, don’t forget you are a Train Conductor!}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 10 is true, you can use the Amusement Park Vending Machines with confidence. The food it dispenses isn’t poisoned or tampered with.
Rule 11 is true, as you can let the amusement park staff do your bidding. Even letting them test a rule mechanism of an anomalous creature is possible as long as you pay them enough coins. However, you can overpay them, but if you underpay them, you’ll trigger their rule attack mechanism, so ensure to pay them enough for what you want them to do.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 12 is false. A prop can refer to the prop that was placed in the Rule Horror Maze to improve the maze experience, but it can also refer to the rule horrors that live within the Rule Horror Maze.
Either way, if any of them "malfunctions", asking an amusement park staff member will do nothing as they can’t do anything to the props unless you pay them. This rule is useless, as you’ll need to pay them, so you only need to ignore this rule and pay attention to Rule 11.
However, it’s indeed true that you can hand a neutralized prop or bizarre creature to the security guard and exchange it for amusement park coins.}
{Hint Prompt: Rule 13 is mostly false. The item wish is not a lie. However, there has been no instance of it being granted yet, as those who enter the Rule Horror Maze are mostly creatures and beings below Platinum rank.
Platinum rank beings and above aren’t likely to encounter the Rule Horror Maze, so it was rigged that way to prevent granting the item wish by only letting the weak participate and explore it.}
