Chapter 59 - 60 – Conspiracy? No... It’s Strategy! Lin Fan's Grand Plan Unfolds
"Old Ghost, are you sure?"
Upon hearing the question, Ghost Douluo released a wave of black mist from his body, vanishing into the shadows around him.
He then closed his eyes and focused, sensing his surroundings carefully.
After a moment, his eyes opened again, and he said in a low, serious voice, "Nothing unusual detected."
Both Chrysanthemum Douluo and Snake Lance Douluo exhaled in relief. After all, anyone bold enough to track three Titled Douluo had to be extremely powerful.
None of them wanted unnecessary trouble at such a critical time. The fewer distractions, the better.
"But..."
Ghost Douluo's expression grew even more serious.
"There's not a single living being nearby."
Just as the other two were about to speak—
Ghost Douluo added gravely, "Within a kilometer radius."
The faces of the other two darkened. A faint flush appeared on Chrysanthemum Douluo's otherwise pale complexion.
Snake Lance Douluo also grew tense, scanning the silent forest around them.
Though it was daytime, the Star Dou Forest was eerily quiet—quieter than even during the night.
There was no trace of spirit beasts. No chirping birds, no rustling creatures. Not even the buzzing of insects.
It was as if they had entered a lifeless, abandoned dead zone—completely devoid of living things.
"Could this be a domain ability?" Chrysanthemum Douluo asked.
Ghost Douluo shook his head. A portion of his black mist dispersed again, extending far into the forest to probe further and gather information.
What disturbed him, though, was that the environment truly felt disconnected from reality—like it existed in an alternate space.
His scouting mist detected no traces of life, not even the tiniest organisms.
Meanwhile – Core region of the Star Dou Forest
The Titan Giant Ape was desperately fleeing, occasionally glancing back at the endless black tide of Zerg chasing after him.
"Damn it! How did they find me again?!"
He roared furiously into the sky, full of frustration. He had just recovered from his injuries, and these disgusting, terrifying creatures had already hunted him down again.
Behind him, a sea of spirit beasts wailed in agony as they were overwhelmed by the swarm. Even ten-thousand-year-old beasts were falling in battle.
The Titan Giant Ape's eyes flashed with hesitation—but in the end, he turned and ran without looking back.
What a joke. Just because he was a dominant figure in the Star Dou Forest didn't mean he was the protector of all soul beasts.
Aside from Da Ming and Sister Xiao Wu, why should he fight for anyone else?
The continent had more than one forest where soul beasts could survive. If needed, he'd just find a new home.
He recalled hearing of another forest in the empire across the continent... something called the Sunset Forest, was it?
His eyes lit up with determination, and he picked up speed.
Da Ming, wait for me! Once I take over the Sunset Forest, I'll avenge you!
BOOM—!
Suddenly, the ground to his front-left trembled violently as another Zerg swarm burst forth like a living flood, cutting him off.
"ROOOAR!!"
The Titan Giant Ape howled in fury and quickly changed direction, dashing into another path through the towering trees.
Despite his size, his movements were incredibly agile, leaping from branch to branch, launching his body forward with powerful bursts from tree trunks.
In mere moments, the pursuing Zerglings lost track of him entirely.
Seeing this, the Titan Giant Ape smirked.
You've got to be kidding. I'm an ape, born for the forest. This is my domain!
BOOM!
He launched himself again using a massive tree branch.

Moments later, a graceful figure descended, wings spread wide—Xiao Wu, now with bone-like wings, landed on a thick tree branch.
Her crimson eyes locked onto the Titan Giant Ape's retreating form, and the corners of her lips curled into a sly smile.
He was heading directly toward the area where Ghost Douluo and the others had entered.
"Fufufu... Now things are getting interesting."
With a flap of her wings, Xiao Wu took off, gliding swiftly in the same direction.
Inside the Hive Cluster
Zhu Zhuyun stood with arms crossed, gazing coldly at a group of dazed guards who had just awoken.
Davis, once full of pride and arrogance, now stood silently to one side, his eyes faintly glowing with a pink hue—utterly obedient.
The guards who accompanied him wore vacant expressions. A closer look would reveal their pupils had dilated; their eyes were unfocused.
It was as if their souls had been partially extracted—standing there like puppets, awaiting orders.
Zhu Zhuyun's gaze flickered for a moment, then she spoke softly:
"Do you understand your mission?"
Davis bowed respectfully. "I do. I will obey all commands of the Overmind."
Zhu Zhuyun nodded with satisfaction, then curled a finger.
One of the puppet-like guards walked forward mechanically and opened his mouth wide.
Zhu Zhuyun raised her hand again—
Splurt!
From the Creep, a thick, fleshy tendril rose, its tip bearing a squirming purple-black egg.
The tendril forcefully jammed the egg into the guard's throat, driving it deep into his chest.
Schlk!
With a sickening sound, the tendril retracted.
The guard coughed violently, clutching his throat. A faint crimson glow flickered in his eyes.
Zhu Zhuyun nodded again. "Go now. Follow the Overmind's plan. And remember—you and him must not die."
She pointed at the marked guard.
Davis nodded and led the others through the Nydus Tunnel to depart.
As they disappeared into the darkness, Zhu Zhuyun licked her lips and looked longingly at the massive black cocoon in the heart of the Hive.
Inside, Lin Fan was still undergoing his metamorphosis.
"Overmind... I'm leaving now."
A flash of desire flickered in her eyes. She slowly approached the cocoon and placed a deep, lingering kiss on its surface.
Running her hand gently across the outer membrane, she seemed to caress Lin Fan's form through the barrier.
Her face flushed.
After a moment, Zhu Zhuyun stood up. Her body was instantly clad in bio-generated armor, identical to the outfit she previously wore.
She walked toward a massive Overlord, glanced back at the cocoon one last time, and boarded.
Within the Overlord were numerous Drones and Zerglings, piled layer upon layer—dormant, waiting silently for commands.
Back in the forest, Ghost Douluo opened his eyes and shook his head.
"Still nothing."
Chrysanthemum Douluo replied, "No worries, Old Ghost. With our strength, who would dare try anything against us?"
"Let's go. Her Holiness is waiting."
Even so, Chrysanthemum Douluo remained on high alert, ready to fight at any moment.
He trusted Ghost Douluo completely—if Old Ghost said something was wrong, then something was wrong.
Still...
Whoever was lurking in the shadows was seriously starting to piss him off.
"ROOOAAAR!!"
BOOM—!
A deafening roar echoed from ahead, followed by the sound of chaotic movement.
Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo locked eyes.
Their expressions turned grave.
"It's the Titan Giant Ape!"
