Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend-Chapter 115: Gazelle, The Black Wing
"Are you ready?" Bob asked.
We were now in our room, preparing ourselves to enter the battle arena.
I nodded.
---
[5000 BP received]
[Ready to teleport to Colosseum of Might Arena]
[Good luck!]
---
And just like that, one-fifth of our BP was gone.
I don’t know why, but the way the system wished us "good luck" felt sarcastic. Or maybe it was just my imagination.
After the notification, nothing happened for a few seconds.
"Did we just get scammed?" Bob asked.
Before I could respond, a sigil appeared beneath our feet. It shimmered with red and blue hues before engulfing us in a blinding light. I quickly shielded my eyes with my hand.
Zoooom!
After several seconds...
I slowly opened my eyes, only to find darkness surrounding us. The room with the comfortable beds was gone.
"Is this the arena?" I asked.
Below us was solid ground, hard and cold.
"Bob, where are you?" I called out, reaching forward with my hand, unable to feel anything.
"I’m here. Where are you?" Bob’s voice echoed faintly.
As we fumbled around in the dark, a sudden blue flame appeared, floating above me. It nearly made me faint from surprise.
But thanks to the eerie blue light, I could finally see Bob.
He noticed me too and made his way toward me under the flame’s glow.
"What is this flame?" Bob asked, reaching out to touch it.
Before his fingers could make contact, more blue flames suddenly appeared, dozens of them, then hundreds, lighting up the entire space with their ghostly brightness. The bluish hue gave everything a spooky, surreal feel.
And then, we could finally see the structure of the so-called arena. It resembled a colosseum like the ones from ancient Rome with spectator stands designed like ascending stairs. But there were no spectators. Only emptiness.
As we walked farther ahead, that’s when we saw it.
A humanoid figure slowly descended from the sky, wings behind its back gently flapping. Its right hand held something resembling a sword, while its left gripped a gun-like object. A flame illuminated it from behind, making the descent look majestic.
"Gotta admit, that’s a pretty cool entrance," Bob whispered to me, copying my own thoughts.
The humanoid landed softly on the ground. Its body was clad in black armor, covering its torso, shoulders, waist, and legs. Its face was partially masked, the armor concealing everything above the mouth, eyes, nose, and forehead. Only the mouth was exposed.
"It has been a while since I’ve had visitors," the beast said. Its voice was soft, yet it felt like it whispered directly into my ears.
Both Bob and I were stunned. This thing could talk?
"You... Gazelle the Black Wing, we came here to defeat you," Bob declared.
"By coming here and challenging me, it means you are ready to die."
Those words were simple, yet they sent chills through my body, as if the words themselves carried a killing intent. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Then, in an instant, Gazelle appeared right in front of Bob, catching us completely off guard.
Boom!
Bob was sent flying backward from Gazelle’s kick, and now, the creature turned its gaze toward me.
This thing is fast!
I immediately summoned Indra, but just like with Bob earlier, Gazelle was already right in front of my face. Its eyes were red and sharp, like a snake’s.
Before I could react, I was already flying through the air, landing hard nearly twenty meters away. My abdomen screamed in pain, making me want to vomit.
"Is that everything you’ve got?" he said, mocking us. His voice was soft but carried a mature tone, like a DJ on a late-night radio show. His right leg, the one he kicked me with, was still raised. He slowly lowered it, grinning at us.
"Please, entertain me more!" he shouted.
"Heal!" I chanted, quickly restoring my abdomen. Now, with my Super Novice class equipped, I transformed Indra into its gun form.
"Alan!" Bob called out.
"Got it!" I shouted back.
We rushed forward, in perfect sync.
"Good! Good! That’s it!" Gazelle was ecstatic.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
I fired at Gazelle, but he casually tilted his head side to side, dodging every bullet with ease.
Then try this one!
"Hellfire Burst!" I thrust my left hand forward, unleashing a wave of fire from the array embedded in my palm. Flames engulfed Gazelle, who made no move to avoid them.
When the fire finally faded, he stood there, still burning. But instead of reacting, he calmly patted the flames on his armor like they were dust.
"Aero Slash!" Bob released a double wing-shaped crescent slash that flew directly at Gazelle at high speed.
He casually slapped both slashes away with just his right hand, deflecting them toward the spectator seats and destroying the structure with ease.
We continued our relentless assault, sticking to our Gun and Slash tactic. But every slash, every shot, every spell, and every skill we threw everything at him, he either deflected or nullified them all.
"When are you two going to get serious?" he asked.
"Tch! This bastard’s mocking us!" Bob snapped. He could never handle arrogant people who looked down on him.
"Alan! Let’s use that!" Bob said.
I nodded. This time, we needed to get serious. That thing in front of us was no pushover. He’d brushed off everything we’d thrown at him so far. Let’s see how he handles our trump card.
"Hero Grace."
After our transformation, we dashed forward, closing in on Gazelle, who now seemed a bit less disinterested.
We appeared at his sides at the same time, me on the right, Bob on the left, swinging our swords simultaneously.
Ping!
Our weapons hit something solid. On my side, Indra was blocked by the barrel of a gun, while Bob’s blade was intercepted by Gazelle’s sword.
We continued swinging our weapons aggressively.
Gazelle blocked both of our attacks with ease.
"This is better than before... but still not enough!" Gazelle said.
Then, in an instant, he vanished.
At that same moment, my enhanced senses screamed danger, but I couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from.
Bob and I dashed around the arena. Standing still would just make us easy targets.
As we sprinted through the battleground, scanning every corner, suddenly, two red eyes gleamed above us.
Swoosh!
A strike came down, fast and brutal.
Blood splattered.
My eyes widened in shock as I saw my best friend’s abdomen skewered, thrust clean through by a blade that pierced his body.
"Bob!"
