"Ker Morhan is our wintering spot. Once the weather improves, we'll set out again to hunt those demons born from the Conjunction of the Spheres."

Vesemir walked ahead, leading Losa into the dilapidated ancient castle.

He hesitated for a moment before asking, "You and the lady came over during the Conjunction of the Spheres too, didn't you?"

Losa mumbled an unclear "hmm." The Conjunction of the Spheres in the Demon Hunter World, to put it simply, was similar to a physical travel through worlds.

"We do indeed come from another world."

Lambert pushed open the Inner Castle's main doors: "Old man Vesemir, let's not rush into serious business. We've just returned from hunting outside in this freezing weather. Let's warm ourselves by the fireplace first. I feel like my toes are about to fall off."

Lambert is a fairly handsome demon hunter, but the two scars on his face mar his looks.

Seeing Losa's gaze fall on his scars, he chuckled and said, "Ha, don't look here. No matter what, I'm still more handsome than Escal."

Escal, being a very steady demon hunter, didn't retort but simply said, "Scars are a man's medal."

"But even before you were scarred, you weren't as handsome as I am. I bet you've never even bedded any female sorcerers. They love handsome guys like us."

"True, I haven't, but that's because I'm a proper demon hunter."

He looked at Geralt: "I don't hunt giant dragons, nor do I become chummy with kings, and I certainly don't mess around with dangerous female sorcerers – listen to me, that's what a proper demon hunter should do: hunt demons for bounties."

He lifted his head and looked at the old man sitting on the recliner beside him: "Right, Vesemir, they seem to have forgotten everything you taught them."

"Actually, I wasn't all that proper when I was young either."

The white-haired old demon hunter jested, "But Escal is right, a proper demon hunter should do just that."

He added, "Mr. Losa, I don't understand why the lady wants us to train you. In my view, you don't need any of this. A dragon's breath and robust body are far more useful than any swordsmanship."

"But since the lady requested it, we have no choice but to comply. So during this time, you might find it quite tough."

Losa chuckled wryly: "I understand."

With a bang, Lambert placed a heavy barrel of liquor on the table: "Let us drink well for the arrival of our new friend."

Geralt frowned: "This is just an excuse for you to drink. Don't forget, our supplies are limited."

As he spoke, a gust swept through the hallway.

The dilapidated building let out a wailing noise, like ghosts lamenting, with the wooden doors creaking and rattling.

"You should really repair this place, if only to make it more comfortable to live in."

When Losa left Eagle Castle, it was still a season of blooming flowers.

He hadn't experienced such a harsh winter since arriving at the Holy Land.

Vesemir reassured: "Don't worry, the house won't collapse; it's just a bit cold."

"Are dragons afraid of the cold?"

"I'm from the fire dragons."

Losa replied casually as he snapped his fingers, igniting a small flame from the dry wood in the fireplace. It was a spell Anna taught him, rarely useful, but he'd never forgotten it.

Yet he still wasn't sure if the magic in the Demon Hunter World had anything in common with his world's magic, apart from both being hindered by Demon-Blocking Gold. Perhaps they were the same thing, after all, he and Prajna had, ultimately, created this world together.

"Losa, what did you do before?"

"What did I do?"

"Yeah, it couldn't really be like the legends say, spending your days guarding magic nodes, occasionally abducting a maiden or two for company, then sending them off with silver and gold when you're done, right?"

"Not at all, I guess I was a... well, a military commander."

"Are you a noble?"

Losa replied half-jokingly: "Of course, and a pretty big noble at that. My territory would be roughly equivalent to a small kingdom in your world."

Lambert parroted the sentiment jokily: "Look at us, dining with a king."

"Haha, aside from Geralt, none of us have had such esteemed moments here. Maybe Escal came close – oh, and Geralt sort of did too. It's just that later on, this nearly cost him his life."

Geralt cleared his throat and said, "Alright, let's not go into that; it's not an experience worth sharing with guests."

Losa thought to himself, this is no secret. Geralt had helped the sister-loving king of Temeria lift the curse off the princess-turned-vampire demon bird, earning the king's favor.

This story could be vividly recounted by any beggar on the streets of Jerusalem – including your love story with Yennefer.

Lambert handed out wooden cups to everyone and filled each one: "Cheers, to surviving another year safely, and to welcoming a new visitor to our godforsaken place."

Losa raised his cup and drank it down in one go.

This taste sure is stronger than Middle Ages' weak wines—Jeanne would definitely like it.

Not just the drinks, the Demon Hunter World is evidently more advanced than his own world, at least post-Renaissance, where many goods would be rare commodities in the Middle Ages.

This story indeed guided many people's consumption.

Gwent Cards, plate armor, swept through the Kingdom of Jerusalem, all thanks to this story's influence. Initially, he had hoped to make money by plagiarizing books, but turned out the books didn't earn him much, yet the side products brought in more profit.

Unfortunately, he can't take anything from this world with him.

All that is in the Demon Hunter World isn't real.

You could say, any background character like the Lady of the Lake, Golden Dragons, Vampires, High Mages taken from the story wouldn't outshine Geralt, as Geralt is the character people are more familiar with.

"Yes indeed, Geralt always involved himself in court secrets, which brought him lots of trouble—not something a demon hunter should do by duty."

Lambert paused slightly and added, "Including sleeping with female sorcerers. I bet Geralt of Livia has had at least a one-night stand with over ten of them."

Lambert, you really are conservative.

Losa snarked internally, watching Geralt's deadpan face, and couldn't help but laugh, "I bet it's more than ten, Geralt."
