The disciple got stunned since she had seen his cultivation realm first, and just like everyone, she had only one question. How? But she collected herself quickly. "Chief disciple Lin... what brings you here?" She got aside from the entrance.

Lin Feng finally entered inside the courtyard which led to a small yet quite beautiful pavilion, which was made from the same ores as the other structures in the city. "Senior sister, I have seen the mission regarding the presence of a devil cultivator hiding here. I wanted to see if I can find him."

The disciple nodded. "Chief disciple, can I ask you something?"

"Yes?" Lin Feng did not mind it.

"How did you reach Spirit Origin realm so quickly?" She was too curious to know. She had never heard of any treasure that could help a Qi Refinement realm cultivator reach Spirit Origin realm in one year. It was also an impossible notion.

Lin Feng did not know what he should tell. He could not just tell her that it was his master’s primordial yin essence which had helped him.

It seemed he could only lie about it. He could easily fool her heart peering method. It was making himself believe that lie was the truth, and if he believed it was truth, then it was truth for those who used heart peering on him. For a strong-willed person it was very easy to impose their beliefs on themselves.

There was no need though. "It was a very rare opportunity, senior sister, which might never come again, and sadly, it is not something I would be able to disclose to you."

The disciple sighed, but she also understood that a thing which had really helped him achieve his cultivation realm was something that should be kept a secret.

"So, senior sister, can you tell me more about this mission?" Lin Feng decided to change the topic.

"Indeed, chief disciple, let us go and sit inside first." The disciple gestured for him to come inside.

Lin Feng nodded, and they entered inside the pavilion. It was almost empty with only a few middle-aged women working as attendants.

"Usually these branches are empty all the time unless we are holding recruitments or holding any kind of auction to sell something." The disciple spoke as they made their way to a chamber where proper seating arrangements were available.

"Chief disciple Lin, please take a seat. I will arrange tea for you." The disciple spoke and went out.

A few minutes later the disciple entered inside with two cups of tea, and after handing Lin Feng one cup, she sat down in front of him. "It is very rare to meet you, chief disciple. I hope you do not mind me taking your time."

Lin Feng shook his head. "No problem at all, senior sister. Do not worry, from now on you might see me more often." He had never spent time interacting with Frozen Heart Sect disciples. He had never felt the need to do so, not to mention most disciples had aversion to males. "What is your name, senior sister?"

Most of the Frozen Heart Sect disciples were beautiful. Cultivators were inherently beautiful, but the main sect cultivation technique of Frozen Heart Sect definitely increased their beauty to another level.

It was because of the conservation of their primordial yin, which increased their femininity further.

The disciple smiled. "My name is Huan Meiqing, chief—"

"Junior brother would do, senior sister Huan." Lin Feng said and took a sip of tea. "It is good tea."

"Alright, junior brother Lin, let me tell you about the mission. You see, just recently we have destroyed a hidden sect of devil cultivators. Although we were able to kill most of them, especially the strongest cultivators, some of the weaker ones escaped.

We are hunting them down. We were able to find them because even though they escaped, we had used a mist to cover the whole sect which covered them in a scent that was traceable for a certain amount of time.

But now that lots of time has passed, the effect of the mist has waned, and we cannot trace it. We can just assume from the previous trails.

Occasionally, we are able to find one or two devil cultivators, and using them, we are able to get more clues to hunt others."

Lin Feng understood the whole situation. So the devil layer in the valley was one of those who had run away.

"One of the clues we have got led us to this city, where a single devil cultivator, who was in the peak stage of Spirit Origin, has hidden himself.

We cannot let that devil of that realm stay in this city. Even a moment of lapse can cause great destruction if he decides to take revenge for his sect."

Lin Feng nodded. Although the Heaven Ascension realm cultivator was keeping a constant eye over the city, he could not do it all the time. If that devil decided to cause ruckus at the time when senior wasn’t present in the city , then things would not be pleasant for the city.

"And that is the gist of it, junior brother, but the problem is that it is not easy to find that devil cultivator unless we lock the whole city and let the senior guarding the city check everyone individually..."

It would be a tremendous task, and Lin Feng understood that it was not something they could do. "So how are you guys finding him, senior sister?"

Finding a devil cultivator was hard in this whole city. He could easily spot him if he came in front of him, but the chance of that happening was very low.

"We are not making much progress, junior brother. We are just hoping that he will make some mistake and use his qi somewhere which will alert the senior. In fact, senior is walking on the streets of the city as we speak, to see if by chance he spots him..."
