Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. By any chance, these beasts were... "Are you obliged to help Frozen Heart Sect?" He never asked about it from his master, but they did go to capture some beasts previously.

Did his master force these seven beasts into a contract? That might explain why they all were grouped together like friends. Beasts inherently didn't like getting along that much unless their bond was really deep.

"Well yes, something like that, but you are wrong about one part, we are not obligated. Your master just asked nicely, and given how magnanimous I am, I accepted to help her. I even helped her gather those six too." Frost Scale Boa spoke while raising his head a little higher and closing his eyes.

Lin Feng was speechless hearing its voice filled with smugness. He sighed and shook his head internally.

It was impossible for this beast to agree to his master without a fight. Beasts didn't like humans, and it was a universal truth, "I see...

how rare. I will definitely ask my master about the great senior snake who had given us protection. We should in fact build a sacred statue of yours senior."

The Frost Scale Boa trembled inwardly, "Cough... No need young one. Why disturb your master for something so meager. Anyway, I wanted to ask you something else..."

"And that is?" Lin Feng asked calmly.

"Who was that young child before, and why has this pup not paid its respect to me?" Frost Scale Boa squinted its eyes at Hei Ying.

It could feel that this beast had some extraordinary bloodline. Determining the bloodline of each other was pretty easy among beasts. Higher-grade bloodlines inherently suppressed weaker-grade bloodlines. The strength of the beast did matter, but they could still feel a small bit of suppression from weaker beasts too.

Occasionally, he would come to check on the sect just to see if the war had begun or not since he was confined in his territory to wait for further instructions.

Whenever he arrived in the vicinity of this sect, he would feel tremendous suppression, and this made him never visit the sect directly.

Yesterday, he felt another suppression, and this surprised him. He wanted to visit the sect to see if Frozen Heart Sect had some way to make beast bloodlines stronger.

If something like that was possible, then wouldn't they might help him become a dragon? He was willing to submit to them completely if they could do something like that, but as always, how could he take the risk alone?

What if this was some secret of Frozen Heart Sect and they killed him? So he brought others too, and to their surprise, they saw a beast and a small human child which smelled like a potent spirit herb.

Looking at her, they felt a little protective. They knew this was just a feeling generated by an illusion and something they could easily ignore, but still they were intrigued.

This sect really was too mysterious. Maybe it really was a sanctuary where they could become stronger faster.

...

"Grhhhh...." Hei Ying snorted in her tone and stopped looking at the Frost Scale Boa as if it was too beneath her to watch something like that.

Frost Scale Boa got stunned, and Lin Feng just shook his head. It seemed that Hei Ying didn't like to entertain everyone even if they were far stronger than her and could kill her in the blink of an eye.

This showed her pride which was evident from her bloodline.

Frost Scale Boa wanted to lash out, but he was too afraid of the other suppression he was feeling, "Sigh... Young pups these days. Hey human, you should teach her manners."

Lin Feng looked at it expressionlessly. He really couldn't believe how shameless this snake was. He looked at the others behind it and spoke, "So you all are here to know about that young child?"

It was a little hard to believe. Even if they all saw Mu Yao and thought of her as special, it wouldn't reach the level where they all gathered here like thieves, not to mention he could feel that this beast wasn't speaking the full truth, "You know what? I am quite busy, so if you don't want to tell the reason why you all came here, then go and stay in that other cloud and don't scare the disciples of this sect." Lin Feng pointed towards another cloud a little far away.

The Frost Scale Boa immediately got attentive. He didn't want to miss this chance, "Alright, alright... Actually, do you guys have some way to, you know... hm... increase the strength of the bloodline?"

When Lin Feng heard that, he finally had a knowing expression. So they all came here because they felt suppression from his grandmother and also from Hei Ying.

That explained it. There was nothing more alluring for beasts than to improve their bloodline, especially if they had a trace of primordial beast bloodlines.

After all, higher-grade bloodlines in beasts were equivalent to special constitutions among humans.

Mostly all beasts had some kind of lineage tracing them back to their progenitors, but not all could make their bloodlines strong enough to elevate themselves to that level.

They had to have a minimum amount of bloodline inside them to stir it into awakening.

There were three ways a beast could awaken their bloodline to improve. First was to devour beasts containing similar bloodlines as them. Second was to train themselves with an environment their bloodline was attuned with.

The second option seemed simple, but it was the hardest as it took an unimaginable amount of time, and the environment must be strong enough to invoke their bloodline.

Third was to consume resources related to their bloodline, the way most beasts usually took and it was also immensely time consuming unless the resources are good.

Lin Feng could indeed help these beasts if they had a trace of primordial bloodlines in them, but even that would take an immense amount of time.

He could create pills, and just not any pills. Pills refined from real yang flames which would further increase the effect of the pills.

But he didn't have time to be a caretaker nor resources, but there was another method. Let them train in ice generated by his grandmother. It would definitely help this snake and that tiger who were attuned to ice.

Well, it was just a thought. His grandmother was too weak to think about something like that. He wasn't going to decline though.

"Helping you all is not impossible, but only when Frozen Heart Sect becomes the sole ruler of this world. So if you want to improve fast, then how about helping me do it..."

Why would he let go of this beautiful chance to speed up the process? Beasts were far more trustworthy than humans. They were always direct in their approach, especially the stronger ones.

Using them to rule the world would be a far better alternative than forming bonds with human powers. He didn't even need to force them into a heavenly oath either.

The eyes of Frost Scale Boa lit up. Just the mere mention of the fact he could help them was enough for them to listen to him like a master.

All of them were trying to increase the quality of their bloodline, but what increased till now was only their strength which was good but not fulfilling, "Alright, so when are we attacking? Let's do it right now..."

Lin Feng shook his head at his excited tone, "Don't worry. It won't take long. Stay near the sect. I would need some help in removing some thorns..."

Now that he had these beasts, he could remove thorns like Quiet Wind Sect alone, but first he had to gather the names of other similar traitors, and it would take time to collect all the evidence.

Usually, he wouldn't have cared and directly eradicated them, ruling the north with an iron fist, but Frozen Heart Sect had a special place in the hearts of people.

It was a sect known for its magnanimous heart and absolute impartiality in making decisions. He didn't want to destroy that image, so gathering evidence was a must. Well, he could just put a mission about it in the sect.

Frost Scale Boa nodded, "Fine then. We will stay on that mountain. You can call us anytime you want young master..."

Lin Feng didn't cared what they called him, he looked at the mountain far away and nodded, "That works..."

"Then I will take my leave. Young pup, want to join us? Let's have a spar..." Frost Scale Boa spoke with a smirking tone.

Hei Ying still didn't pay any attention to it and went towards the pavilion.

Lin Feng had to give it to this snake. He was shameless thoroughly. Asking a grade 2 beast to spar with it when it was a grade 9 beast was just amusing.

The Frost Scale Boa was too thick headed to feel insulted when Hei Ying didn't even respond, he didn't say anything and left.
