Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos-Chapter 364: Opportunity
Lin Feng landed on the ground just at the entrance of the village. The village looked perfectly fine as not a single spatial crack had hit it.
He entered inside and looked at the first house after the entrance. It was not big nor too sturdy, but definitely enough to shelter its occupants in rain and snow.
The thing that attracted his attention was not the house but that faint ghost qi inside it. He could see this qi even without chaotic eyes.
His normal eyes were not normal at all due to his physique. Seeing through yin or yang related things or environments was quite easy for him.
The reason he had used the Chaotic Eyes just a moment ago was that the ghost qi was extremely faint. Moreover, he was flying very high, and with the darkness around him, it was impossible to perceive it clearly with the naked eye without using even a trace of yang qi.
He looked at other houses and similarly a few of them also had this ghost qi floating inside them.
Ghost qi is quite rare. It forms when souls weren’t able to go through reincarnation and are trapped in the physical world without getting access to the nether realm.
These souls do not wander far from the areas where they are attached to, especially their homes, and people call them ghosts.
These ghosts do not have memories but only a strong unfulfilled will or desire to free themselves from this world and reach the nether realm.
Ghosts are in themselves a type of being which can also cultivate to become stronger, so all of them have a special type of qi known as ghost qi.
That meant all these residents had ghosts which were trapped in this world.
These ghosts were definitely born from the previous villagers of this village.
There was one thing strange though. If this village had ghosts then why had Gou Tiancheng not mentioned ghosts in his city.
It was not surprising that ghosts are formed due to being killed by darkness qi. It was quite normal, so there must be ghosts in his city too.
Now he could only think of two possible scenarios. First, Gou Tiancheng really had not seen the ghosts, which was quite normal given these faint wisps of ghost qi are very weak and without having proper yin or yang techniques, you cannot observe them easily.
The second scenario was what was a little concerning. There were really no ghosts left in his city.
That meant that one or maybe a few ghosts had figured out how to cultivate, and if that really was the case then it would not be surprising if they had consumed other ghosts to increase their strength.
Ghosts cultivate by absorbing yin qi and the best way for the ghosts living in the Central Region to obtain yin qi is this darkness and the other ghosts residing here.
He doubted that these ghosts were at the level where they had developed a cultivation technique to absorb yin qi from this darkness which even he can’t absorb from due to imprint of dark phoenix, so the only possible way was to consume other ghosts.
As for the possibility of a single ghost having enough urge to cultivate, it was not low if the ghost was born from a cultivator who could do anything to cultivate and become stronger.
Strong desires are the reason for ghost existence in the first place. Darkness was just a medium to lower the restrictions to become one.
This would be a little troublesome, but it was also a good opportunity for him.
Lin Feng sighed. Ghosts can die from the spatial tears which can pull them inside the void, but a restrained tear which wants some kind of physical contact to wreak havoc would not be activated due to a ghost touching it.
Because of this the inner area of the Central Region must have lots of ghosts and they might be stronger too due to their cultivation realm as soul strength is what decides the initial strength of a ghost.
If these ghosts have cultivated then they would become further stronger, so there was a possibility that the Central Region, even when totally desolate of life, might be the strongest in terms of mighty creatures in this whole world.
He took a step towards the house and opened the entrance.
A small chill was felt on his skin and this was due to ghost qi which was filling this whole house.
Lin Feng could see the faint blurry silhouettes of three humans floating in the middle of this small chamber.
"Sigh..." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
He used pure yang qi and immediately the souls got purified of the darkness trapping them before slowly fading away.
Lin Feng felt the strong emotion of relief from the ghosts even though these weak mortal ghosts were not much sentient.
He willed it and absorbed the ghost qi lingering around the chamber.
This was the reason it was beneficial for him. Ghost qi is nothing but a part of yin qi and he could absorb it to cultivate.
These mortal ghosts did not give him much yin qi, but there were definitely a lot of such villages in the Central Region, not to mention strong ghosts and ghost cultivators which could provide him with a lot of yin qi.
Given the size of this region, he had no doubt that if he want, he could reach the peak of Tribulation Ascendance in his yang cultivation by just absorbing the ghost qi.
There was another thing. Given his pure yang body, he was not afraid of any ghosts, not even the Peak Tribulation Ascendance ones.
He might not be able to kill them right now, but they would not touch him either if he covered himself with a layer of pure yang qi.
The Central Region was really a treasure trove for him.
Slowly he freed other ghosts in the village while absorbing the yin qi and left. He did not change his direction to search for more villages and maintained his route towards the direction where the sect of Gou Tiancheng was located.
He found some more villages before he reached a city sprawling inside a valley.
