Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 176: A Date?
Time seemed to pass by slowly on this particular day, Celine didn’t know if it was because she was overly anticipating or if it was just natural, but she found herself gazing at the time a lot until she got tired and decided to go out to meet Hailey.
Both women hung out, exploring different places around the old dwellings, finding a lovely lake behind the bushes where they both sat and talked about various things.
Later, Celine went back to the cottage and made a phone call back home to talk to her children, something she did discreetly everyday, being apart from her children, she missed them a lot, but she would only talk to them on the phone everytime she was alone in the cottage.
With her having occupied herself, the time passed by quickly. Soon, the sun had set beyond the vast horizon in the old dwellings.
Celine once again looked at the time to see that it was almost seven pm, she gazed towards the bush entrance of the old dwellings for a while before going over to sit at the edge of the bridge, he had assured her he would be back before dinner time, so she decided to wait for him.
As if in accordance to her expectations, a few minutes later, a man wearing the uniform of the messengers of the island chief came up to her.
"Good evening ma’am, are you Mrs Grayson?" The man asked respectfully.
"Yes?"
"Your husband has asked you to meet him over at the resort," The man said straightforwardly, as if not having any intentions to delay the message that brought him.
"My husband?" Celine asked confused since Tristan had promised to come back, not for her to go and meet him.
"Yes ma’am, Mr Grayson asked me to tell you he was caught up with some work at the moment, but then he’s almost done with it, so he asked me to escort you over to come wait for him to have dinner." The man’s expression showed strict professionalism as he spoke.
Hearing that Celine’s eyes lit up. So he still had their dinner arrangement in mind, she thought almost giggling to herself before she realized someone was standing in front of her, she composed herself and said,
"Alright, can you wait for me for a moment? I’ll be right back."
She quickly went into the cottage to get changed. Celine didn’t want to keep the messenger waiting, so she picked out a simple dress and wore it, then let her hair down to flow cascading down her back, she did a little prep to her face and finally went out.
"I’m sorry for keeping you waiting, let’s go."
The messenger nodded while leading her out of the old dwellings.
Celine wasn’t surprised Tristan had sent over a messenger since the old dwellings were hard to get into and only the chief’s people are allowed to go in and out as they pleased, so she wasn’t at all suspicious as she followed the messenger anticipating the time she would get to spend with Tristan tonight. She and Tristan had been stuffing in their mutual affections for one another, Celine could tell he cared about her too, which was why she wanted to spend time with him enough to know why he wouldn’t confess his feelings for her.
She followed him into the large building of the resort, as he led her down a long spacious hallway that had different ancient looking paintings hung on the walls which attracted her eyes as she walked past them.
The messenger seemed to have fluidly prepared everything, which made her wonder if Tristan had him prepare it all before hand.
Coming before the doors to a private room the messenger swiped the card by the door unlocking it then beckoning to her,
"Please go inside ma’am, your husband will be joining you shortly." The man said warmly in a receptive manner.
Celine offered him a polite smile before walking into the room whose doors the man shut immediately she entered.
To Celine, the man she was here to meet was the one she’d been anticipating throughout the day, but little did she know, it was a different person coming to her.

At a distant part of the resort building, inside of a large room designated for work purposes, Tristan had it styled to look like a meeting room.
He sat in his seat surrounded by some other employees who were also sitting respectfully across from him.
"The most popular theme has been fluctuating between a holiday style and luxury over the past few months, though both show great promise in the current market, it is still both an open field with great potential to yield revenue higher than six digits within a few months, there’s also..."
Tristan sat with his arm propped onto the table supporting his chin in a domineering and professional manner. His face showed great concentration, however, his mind was elsewhere, one couldn’t decipher what his thoughts were, but a small smile played on his lips which no one seemed to notice at the moment.
The research team were busy giving their report when Tristan suddenly interrupted,
"Alright, let’s continue the meeting tomorrow."
At his sudden words, everyone was dumbstruck, as they glanced up at him with their mouths agape, no one blinked.
Tristan was about to get up from his seat to leave when he noticed the strange looks on everyone’s faces,
"You can all leave now, we’ll continue the meeting tomorrow." He said thinking they probably didn’t hear him say it the first time.
"Mr Grayson, this meeting is of high importance." One of the employees who had recovered from his dumbstruck state asked thinking there might be some sort of misconception for their boss to say that.
"Yes, we’ll deal with it tomorrow, you can all leave now."
Leaving those words, Tristan stood up and strode out of the meeting room, even Kaleb who was sitting in the meeting room with everyone was still in a daze before he realized Tristan was leaving and got up to chase after him.
"Am I dreaming, or is this the same workaholic boss of ours?" Someone suddenly asked after Tristan left.
"If you’re dreaming, then we’re both having the same dream someone pinch me." Another added.
"Maybe he isn’t our real boss, hey guys, do you think the people of this island are creepy, maybe they’ve done something to the real Mr Grayson, and sent a robot out in his place."
"You’re right, Mr Grayson, the workaholic boss who never gives us any breaks until all the pending work is done suddenly...called off a meeting, that was definitely not him!"
"Hey, hey, all of you stop cooking up theories, how could that not be Mr Grayson? Instead what you guys should be asking is why he suddenly decided to change his workaholic personality to leave a meeting halfway."
Everyone in the meeting room began various discussions still unable to believe that their boss had actually just walked out of a meeting like that.
Meanwhile, immediately after leaving the meeting room, Tristan asked Kaleb who quickly followed behind him,
"Have you prepared everything I asked you this morning?"
Ah! So that was it, his boss couldn’t wait any longer to go on his date? Who was he having such a nice dinner with? Kaleb wondered.
"Yes boss, everything is prepared." Kaleb replied.
Now it all made sense, that morning, Tristan had instructed him to prepare a dinner table at some location in the old dwellings, then asked him to get different dishes from all the best places in Rowen city.
Kaleb was wondering if he was going to be having another meeting with someone again since Tristan had never prepared dinner in any other setting other than work. But seeing his hurried strides and how he had suddenly cut off a meeting, he was sure that dinner wasn’t about work.
Then who else could it be if not for Celine who was currently pretending to be his wife in the old dwellings? So that meant, his boss was going on a date! Kaleb was quite ecstatic, perhaps his decision of having Celine pretend to be Tristan’s wife which had happened in the spur of the moment was not so bad after all.
"It’s alright, you can go." Tristan said to Kaleb who was planning to follow him out of the building.
Kaleb was stumped momentarily, still not used to his boss letting people off work so easily, but he quickly recovered and said, "Yes boss, have a great night."
He stood outside the resort building as he watched Tristan head off towards the location of the old dwellings.
