Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 206: I Don’t Want To Sleep Alone Tonight
Celine’s breath hitched the moment she felt his arms wrap around her waist, firm and warm, pulling her effortlessly against him.
Her back pressed against his chest, and she could feel the heat of his body even through the thin fabric between them.
"Pretending to sleep?" Tristan’s voice came low, right by her ear.
Her lashes fluttered, but she kept her eyes shut, her heart betraying her with how loudly it pounded.
"I can feel your heartbeat from here," he added, amusement laced in his tone.
Celine swallowed, her grip tightening slightly on the sheets.
"I was asleep..." She murmured weakly.
Darn it, she had been caught anyway, there was no use pretending anymore.
A soft chuckle escaped him, his breath brushing lightly against her skin, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Is that so?"
His hand shifted slightly against her waist, his fingers curling just enough to pull her closer.
Celine felt a rush of something warm and ticklish down her lower belly. Slowly, she turned in his arms, her face now just inches away from his.
Her eyes finally opened and immediately met his intense gaze. His deep hazel orbs seemed to glow in the dark, but unmistakably, it carried a trace of hunger.
Her gaze dropped briefly to his lips then back to his eyes.
Tristan’s eyes followed her gaze and a faint smile tugged at his lips as his hand lifted, brushing lightly against her cheek.
"Still worried we’ll make noise?" he asked softly.
Celine’s cheeks flushed instantly.
"I..." Her words caught in her throat because he was even closer now, close enough that she could feel the heat of his breath on her face, his gaze lowered as he reached for her lips, the distance between them slowly disappeared.
Her breath slowed, his hand which remained at her waist, softly and very gently tugged her even closer till her body was tightly flush against his own, and just as their lips were about to meet...
"Daddy?" A small voice cut through the heated moment and both of them froze.
Celine blinked, realization settling into her as she whipped her head to the entrance of her bedroom where a small figure in cute pajamas stood hugging the chubby Boba in her arms, the cat lazily asleep.
Tristan exhaled softly, seeing his daughter standing there, rubbing her sleepy eyes sleepily.
"I don’t want to sleep alone tonight..."
Celine immediately sat up, slightly flustered, adjusting the blanket around herself. She had said the kids would wake up, but she didn’t actually think the kids would indeed wake up.
"Leah, baby, you were already asleep..."
"I woke up," she mumbled, her voice drowsy as she walked further into the room. "Daddy wasn’t there..."
Her small hands rubbed at her eyes again as she climbed onto the bed without waiting for permission.
"I want to sleep with Daddy."
Tristan let out a quiet breath, the earlier moment slipping away, he immediately dismissed the lingering warmth of his woman’s body and the images of everything he wanted to do to her tonight, realizing his duties as a father might also extend far into the night.
"Come here, princess." he said, his voice softer now.
Leah immediately crawled into his arms, snuggling against him like she belonged there. Boba curled by her feet, making the cat sleep anywhere away from her was an impossible feat, so Celine allowed the furry creature in her bed even though she knew from experience that it would scratch her legs if she got any close to it somewhere into the night.
The next second, another small figure appeared at the entrance.
"There’s room for you too Leo, come here." Tristan beckoned the boy over, and the latter reluctantly walked over to the bed, also tucked into a spot next to his father. Tristan was completely sandwiched between the two kids.
Celine watched them, her earlier fluster slowly melting into something gentler.
Leah sighed contentedly, wrapping a small arm around Tristan as if she finally had her greatest wish come true.
"Now I can sleep." She murmured as Tristan adjusted the blanket over her, his movements careful and instinctive. His little princess was adorable, though she had a smart mouth she was awfully small, he was always very careful with her.
"You’re not going anywhere, right?" she murmured sleepily.
"I’m right here," he replied.
Leo shot a glance at his sister, "So clingy." He muttered and she stuck out her tongue at him. He pretended not to care when his father tucked him into the blanket as well but imperceptibly, his lips raised in a dimpled smile.
Celine lay back down beside them, the space between them now filled by the small, warm presence of their kids and a chubby cat.
Leah shifted slightly, making herself comfortable, her tiny hand still clutching Tristan’s shirt. Within minutes, her breathing evened out again. She had fallen fast asleep.
Tristan glanced down at Leo who had also instantly fallen asleep and silence settled in the room once more.
Tristan glanced over Leah’s head, his eyes meeting Celine’s bright blue ones. For a moment, they just looked at each other.
Celine’s lips curved slightly into a soft, knowing smile.
Tristan huffed a quiet breath, shaking his head faintly, though a smile touched his own lips as well.
"We’ll continue this later," he murmured.
Celine’s cheeks warmed up, but she didn’t look away this time.
"We’ll see," she replied softly.
They both settled into the quiet night with the kids nestled safely between them.
"Goodnight." Celine murmured with a teasing smile.
He suddenly leaned over, attempting to kiss her goodnight but Leah murmured in his arms causing him to halt, carefully laying back in his spot in fear of making anymore sudden movements that would wake his daughter again.
Celine held back the laugh about to bubble from her lips at his carefulness and he sent her a playful glare, "Go to sleep, Mrs Grayson."
He didn’t take his eyes off her even as her own breathing began to stabilize, staring at her sleeping face he couldn’t help but notice the similarities between his daughter and her. But somehow, both kids were a mixture of them both.
So this was why people got married, to enjoy such warm, peaceful moments, watching her and watching his kids he felt something he had never felt before. He never thought he would find himself here someday, he had sworn to himself that he wouldn’t bring someone else in his life, to cause them misery, but there was no misery in the moments he spent with Celine.
It was the most beautiful thing he’d ever experienced. This feeling in his heart, was the most beautiful thing...
"I love you." The words were a quiet whisper but he saw the faintest smile that lifted the side of her lips, perhaps she’d heard him, or she was having a beautiful dream, either way he drifted off to sleep watching her, holding her hand in his, hoping this moment would never disappear...
