Chapter 30: Could It Be Him?

"President." Kaleb jogged up to his boss at the entrance of an entertainment company where he was holding a woman in his arms. It was only when he came close enough did he realize who that woman was, resting with her eyes closed against Tristan’s chest.

Kaleb’s eyes widened, so it was indeed her!

Kaleb couldn’t understand why every morning his boss would instruct him to change routes, instead of taking the easy short way to Grayson Corp, Tristan would instruct him to take this long, lengthy route instead which felt like going in a far circle before getting to Grayson Corp, and when they reached this entertainment company, Tristan would instruct them to stop the car.

Kaleb had usually observed his boss for the past few days, whenever they stopped outside this company, he would pull out his laptop as if he were working, he would even say the air here was fresh and clean and it was easier to focus here, so they would end up spending quite a few hours here for Tristan to "work"

Of course Kaleb didn’t believe it was work, and he kind of guessed it would have something to do with this woman because those few moments of so called work, Tristan’s eyes would always drift to the entrance of this company as if hoping to see someone.

Urgent meetings and work related things were what would pull him to finally instruct Kaleb to drive to the company.

It was getting boring for Kaleb until today when the boss saw the figure of a woman coming out of the company and his eyes had remained on her ever since until he suddenly shot out of the car looking infinitely displeased and the next thing Kaleb knew, the woman was in his arms by the time he caught up to his boss.

"Find every paparazzi lurking in this area, get rid of any pictures they’ve taken." Tristan instructed as he swept the woman in his arms and rushed back to his car.

"Yes...sir." Kaleb trailed off watching the man who felt like an alien in the form of his boss carrying a woman into his car.

It was exciting to witness these changes but at the same time so astonishing it almost felt unreal.

So the president indeed came to this company every single day just so he could get a glimpse of this woman...thinking about it, it was actually quite sweet, but Tristan Grayson was never sweet.

A long mass of golden blonde hair spilled around as he gently laid her against the seat in the car and he fastened the seatbelt around her. Her eyes were closed and there were thick beads of sweat on her forehead.

Tristan reached for disposable paper towels in his car and moved closer to her, her scent immediately wafted to him, the familiar scent of sweet cedar he couldn’t get out of his mind since that night.

As if frightened to bruise her he gently wiped the sweat from her face. Gently studying every feature as if wanting to memorize them in his mind, a few seconds later realization hit him and he moved away quickly as if remembering he wasn’t supposed to touch her, wasn’t supposed to look at her, wasn’t supposed to want...

"What the hell do you think you’re doing Tristan?" He ran his fingers through his hair and groaned in admonishment to himself before he swiftly grabbed the steering wheel, pulling the gear lever to drive away.

"Ugh." Celine turned her body when she felt some discomfort on her side. She felt like there were sheets draped over her body, but they were familiar sheets that smelled like her perfume and a cozy scent of home.

It almost felt like she was in her own bed. But how could she be in her bed when she was outside...the last thing she remembered was standing outside Lightstar Entertainment and feeling like her mind and her body was about to crash.

She suddenly sat up with a gasp.

When Celine’s eyes fell on her surroundings, she realized she was in her penthouse lying in her own bed.

What the hell? How did she get here?

Celine glanced around as if in disbelief that she might be dreaming, she got out of bed and looked around then went out to the living room.

She was in her apartment.

Outside the windows the sun was already setting. When she glanced at the clock, she realized that it was some minutes past five in the evening.

Had she been sleeping for such a long time?

This morning when she had left Lightstar Entertainment, she had tried to suppress a panic attack, and perhaps forcing it had caused her to faint like that but... someone had been there.

Celine tried to wrack her memory but she couldn’t see the image of who that person was in her mind, she only knew that there had been someone there and that person had felt familiar but she had lost consciousness before she could identify them.

But...if she had fainted there at Lightstar Entertainment, how come she was here at home?

No one knew that she lived here, so how could she have been taken home?

Celine tried to think for a long time but no one came to mind, when she grabbed her bag which she found kept on her couch, she was about to call Elise and ask if she has been the one to take her home when a thought suddenly struck her, that thought forced her to pause her actions.

Days ago one person had been at her apartment, it was that driver...the one who had brought her home after the night she had...

Celine’s heart suddenly gave a lurch. She suddenly recalled the familiarity of that person who had saved her from falling earlier.

His scent, she could remember letting go and feeling at ease after she perceived his scent.

"Tristan?" She muttered his name with uncertainty.

It couldn’t have been him right?
