Chapter 32: Proof

By the time she finished reading through his message, Celine’s whole body trembled with suppressed fury.

She hated Ian...no she despised him and she couldn’t even begin to imagine how or why she had been able to convince herself that she was in love with him back then.

But thinking about it, she hadn’t been in love with Ian at all, she had just been warped in all his lies and it had all confused her.

Celine knew Ian was evil, but she had no idea he was this despicable.

He wanted her virginity? Well that was long gone now and even if it wasn’t, she would never even think about giving her body to Ian even if Ian held a gun to her head.

An idea suddenly formed in her head and Celine quickly took a screenshot of the message she had just opened contemplating on posting it online to clear her name but stopped short...was a message proof enough to prove her innocence?

If the first thing she would do after being terminated by Lightstar Entertainment was coming out in public to release these texts he sent her, anyone could fabricate text messages, maybe that was why Ian wasn’t wary of sending them to her in the first place. Just like no one would believe her if she came out to say Ian cheated on her, no one would believe a text message that could easily be fabricated.

Perhaps the anger she felt at Ian’s audacity made a sudden fighting spirit begin to boil in her chest. She sat at her desk, furiously typing her fingers against the keyboard.

Ian was getting away with ruining her...he cheated on her, made her believe in his illusion when he was actually betraying her, then went on to target her career when she had chosen to reject the miserable life he was going to offer her.

Celine admitted that she never stood up to or fought other people, for years being insulted and abused by Lydia she never fought back, being bullied by other starlets when she had first signed into Lightstar, she would hold her head up but would never be able to fight back.

She had been told that the entertainment industry would eat her innocence alive and leave her with nothing. She had been told to grow tough or be broken but she had always believed that kindness was the key to everything. She believed that if she remained the same, trusted herself and remained a good person, she would be just fine...but this time she ached to see Ian right where he deserved to be.

She didn’t deserve to take the fall when she wasn’t the one who had done something wrong.

She spent hours digging through his career history, former scandals that could give her anything, anything that would provide a more solid proof to expose him. She knew everything there was to know about Ian, but if she thought about it she didn’t know him that well at all, not when she had been oblivious to who he truly was for the three years they had dated.

He had always handled his scandals really well and had never been caught up in a scandal that lasted more than a day, with the band of loyal fans who would flock to his defense whenever something cropped up, Ian’s shield was strong and unbreakable.

Celine found nothing in her search which she had somewhat expected, he wouldn’t let anything that would be in the form of a weakness of his to continue to exist where anyone could find it.

Frustrated, Celine rapidly tapped her feet on the floor as her mind churned in thought before she halted a second later. It seemed like something had clicked in her mind, she closed her search tab and entered Ian’s text. A look of determination suddenly showed in her eyes as she rushed out of her seat.

She searched through her closet, clothing items flying out several times before she seemed to find what she was looking for.

She held onto the black dress she had retrieved from her closet before rushing into the bathroom.

Celine wasn’t very accustomed to styling herself, she was used to having a team around her doing her hair, others working on her makeup and stylists picking out the clothes she would wear, but that didn’t mean she was entirely clueless in getting ready and making herself look good.

She wore a little black dress, an elegant body skimming dress that clung to her body with deliberate grace. The neckline dipped softly revealing a slight amount of her fair snow white neck and collarbones. The velvet fabric traced and hugged her waist down to her hips before it ended mid thigh leaving her fair, long legs on display.

A crystal chocker sat around her neck emphasizing an innate elegance Celine always carried.

The natural waves of her golden tresses cascaded down her back, overall she looked alluringly polished and quietly irresistible.

With a black bag to match in hand she grabbed her phone.

[Location?] She sent this single text to Ian then without waiting for him to reply made a call to someone else.

One thing was certain, she would definitely get enough proof to ruin Ian just as he had ruined her.

Before she even reached downstairs, she received an eager reply from Ian giving her a detailed location.

Kaleb walked down a long, pure white hallway before reaching the door at the end of the that hallway. It stood tall and all black like the gateway to somewhere dark and sinister.

Kaleb walked into an office that looked every bit like a quiet statement of power and authority, stacked with clean lines and luxury. Floor to ceiling windows stretched along one wall allowing a flow of soft daylight at the same time showing a frame of the distant city skylines like a living painting.

Dark wood panels and shelves rose behind a broad, polished desk, lined with neatly arranged books that suggested intellect as much as authority. Behind the desk, a domineering man could be seen sitting all focused on his work. He raised hazel eyes to see who had entered his office before lowering his head back to the screen which showed spiking and descending red lines that signified the day’s stock reports.

"President, here’s a file of the Silverline Realty proposal." Kaleb said placing the file on Tristan’s desk then stepped backwards.

Tristan tore his eyes away from the screen and picked up the file then flipped through it.

As an expert, he knew a flawed, one side benefiting proposal if he saw one. Usually, Tristan wasn’t the type to even appraise such a proposal from a mediocre company not to mention approving it, however he seemed to find himself ignoring all the selfish and outrageous benefits approving this proposal would offer Silverline Realty as he said.

"Send an approval email to Silverline and setup a meeting with them for Thursday."

He instructed the stunned Kaleb who looked like a car had just missed ramming into him by a hair’s breadth.
