Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 95: He Wanted A Father
She had asked herself, what if he didn’t love someone else, what if he felt something for her?
What if he wouldn’t hate the idea that they had children together, what if he would actually love them and want to be the father of her children?
And the most frightening one... what if there could actually be something be something between them, something more than a single night of lust, something that could be extracted where she kept it buried deep inside her heart, what if it was in his heart too?
But it had just been a single moment of being in a fantasy world, she was glad his fiancee had arrived at that moment to remind her of facts and wake her up to reality.
’I’ll have you know that I don’t do commitments of any sorts...’
’Then here’s the deal, after tonight there would be nothing between us, you won’t try to find me for any reason whatsoever, and I won’t try to find you either, neither of us will be held responsible for what happens tonight and I will make it certain not to appear in your life as well, is that alright?’
His words from that night echoed into her mind, she remembered agreeing to every condition, heaven only knows why she was suddenly feeling this way now.
Even if she didn’t want to admit it, seeing his fiancee with him and having been slammed back to reality brought a painful pang to her chest because whether she denied it or not, for a single moment she had hoped...hoped for something that could never be hers.
But whatever else it was, she was glad that this happened so early that she hadn’t been given a chance to feel it deeply, otherwise it would have hurt more, she was glad her momentary hope was dashed immediately.
Celine recalled an image of her children, Leah smiling innocently and Leo with his sharp astute eyes, their innocence and sweetness, how smart and highly intelligent they were, sometimes they did things that astounded her so much her jaw would drop, but then they were her precious jewels and they were hers to keep. Thinking about their father wanting them was a far fetched dream, it was fine just like this, just them and her.
Celine drove through the gates of her home, she loved this place, and here she would build a life with her kids and raise them the best she could. They would lack nothing, and Tristan...he didn’t need to ever find out about them. Once six months have passed she would immediately leave Grayson Corp, that way she would never have to see him again.
Immediately she parked her car, she went into the house.
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
The kids called to her as usual, Celine happily held her precious children In her arms.
"Did you have a good time at the office today Mommy?" Leah asked sweetly.
Celine wanted to reply that it was work, most times one got stress instead of a good time at work, but she replied with a bright smile, "Yes sweetheart. And you, how did school go?"
"It was cool, I made lots of friends."
Celine was extremely happy to hear that, it gave her relief that they were settling well enough here. "That’s wonderful baby, what about you Leo?"
Celine pulled Leo closer, she had to school her expression for a second staring at her son’s face. Now that she saw the man during the day, seeing her son during the night just made it more evident how starkly similar they were, not just from their features but subconscious mannerisms as well.
"Fine." He replied succinctly, looking into her face he seemed to have sensed something, he moved his small hand to smooth a frown on her brows. "Mommy, are you sad?"
"Madam, you’re back." Rachel called coming out of the kitchen with two bunny shaped bowls filled with popcorn for the kids, interrupting Celine from being able to answer Leo’s question.
"Rachel, I already told you, you can call me Celine." She corrected with a smile. The other woman looked to be around her age or a year or two older, it would be awkward if she allowed the latter to repeatedly address her with respect.
"Of course mada...I mean, Celine." Rachel smiled, she felt quite lucky to be working for Celine. Unlike her past employers who repeatedly emphasized the difference in status and made her feel low compared to them, the things Celine had provided for her during her working hours were surprising.
For example, she had a lounge room of her own with a plush and comfortable resting area in the villa, a space which was connected to the kid’s play room so that she could rest while watching over them.
Rachel had been shocked when she saw the room, she had her own television, abundant snacks to munch on and comfortable and beautiful decorations, though she wasn’t employed as a live in nanny, the special treatment and personal resting space in the home was something no other employer had prepared for her before. They wouldn’t care if she were on her feet all day running around after kids without even having a place to sit not to mention rest.
"The kids didn’t trouble you too much I hope, they’re quite a handful." Celine asked.
"Not at all, they’re both really sweet." Rachel was actually becoming quite fond of the little ones, they even silently took their naps at noon after school without giving her a headache unlike other kids.
"Alright, you can get going for the day before it gets too late. It’s dangerous for young women to be walking the streets alone lately."
Rachel was a bit surprised that Celine was asking her to leave without tucking the kids into bed for the night, other employers would ask for that and would feel displeased if she asked to leave early. "Thank you Celine, uhm...I made dinner earlier, the kids have already eaten, you should have something to eat too."
Celine nodded gratefully, "I will. Thanks a lot Rachel, I’ll see you tomorrow."
Rachel nodded and grabbed her bag after playing with the kids a few moments more, but just before she walked out the door, she stopped as if suddenly recalling something then walked back to Celine sending a glance at both children playing, one drawing on a plain sheet and the other reading a book.
"Celine?" Rachel called.
"Yes?" Celine replied, halting halfway up the stairs. Noticing that Rachel seemed to have something to say, she walked back down to ask, "Is something wrong?"
"I found something and thought I’d give it to you, I was fixing Leo’s bed this morning."
"What is it?" Celine asked curiously.
Rachel pulled a piece of paper out of her bag.
"I found it under his pillow, I think it might be a wish he wrote or something, maybe hoping a fairy would pick it up."
She knew Leo didn’t make wishes, nor did he have firm belief in fairies, but she still wondered what was written in it.
Celine took the piece of paper, curiosity leading her to unwrap it quickly, the word she saw written there made her freeze, pain radiating in her eyes.
’Daddy.’
Leo too...he wanted a father? He wanted his father. Celine realized with a sinking heartbreak.
