Frost didn't bother to take any notice of the exchange between Khione and her father, his attention, both sight and smell were completely focused on the food resting on his plate.

Like Khione he had been served storm dragon eye fillet, garnished with a bright sprig of rosemary and a sprinkling of black pepper. There was no sauce bar the tantalising juices of the meat itself and for accompaniment there were a type of green beans and large crowned purple mushrooms that gave off the scent of an ancient forest.

The smell alone was enough to send shivers down his spine let alone the thick presence of life energy that was still trapped within each and every ingredient, the steak most of all.

Storm dragons were at the very least powerful, high tiered A-rank monsters commonly found in the depths of the storm mountains. The one plated before them here however was once an individual at the S-rank, a being at the very peak of the food chain now being served for dinner.

Drool uncontrollably fell from the corner of Frost's lips as he struggled to hold back his urges. Such high quality meat, teeming with life energy was a natural tonic, something that would immediately shore up his foundation and elevate the strength of his body….as long as he could endure it.

Holding himself back as best he could Frost eyed up the four plates and noticed a slight difference between the one's served to himself and Khione.

The spirit chef employed by the Niflheim royal family had reached 7 stars meaning he could prepare and serve dishes of the S-rank without losing any life energy and in some cases even increase the amount they held. Shivali and Freyja's meals received his greatest attention, bringing the life energy of the dish beyond their maximum levels and thus making it impossible for Khione and Frost to safely consume.

The meals of the two youngsters therefore received a special culling, reducing the life energy contained in the meals, transitioning it into something smoother, less chaotic while also retaining the maximum amount of flavour.

Performing such an art required an immense level of skill, Shivali had quite the talented set of chefs on retainer.

"Hmph peasant." Khione who had stopped glaring at her father noticed the drool dripping from Frost's lips and couldn't help but mock him for his lacking palette.

"Sheltered Princess." Not willing to be outdone Frost snapped back almost immediately and in response Khione harshly frowned before reaching towards his left side.

"Owwww!" Frost yelped in pain as Khione pinched and twisted him so hard it felt like his skin was being torn off.

He glared at her with accusation, but she merely responded with glee and taunting, egging him to make a move against her. And of course he couldn't do that, any attempt would only result in him being beaten within an inch of his life. She was stronger, much stronger than him thus he was powerless….at least when it came to straight up fighting.

He couldn't pinch her back as that would spell him a quick end, but he could attack her from another angle. As the gears turned a playful smile appeared on his lips. He looked at the smug, taunting expression of the buff, young woman and wanted nothing more than to see her embarrassed perhaps even forced to apologise for her behaviour, unfortunately her actions were done under the table and out of sight of her frightening mother.

'Should I tease her here, right in front of her parents? Or use them to my advantage?' He couldn't just let things be….eventually he decided to use both options. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Caring not for the presence of Shivali and Frejya, Frost leaned over, placed his hand gently on Khione's thigh and looked passionately into her eyes. "I may not dare to mess with you physically but I'm pretty sure I can easily turn you into a pink mess in front of your parents." He threateningly whispered.

The moment Frost's hand made contact with her leg Khione visibly shivered, her mind instinctively conjuring less than appropriate images as a pink blush began to grow on her cheeks.

This was the extent of her embarrassment, however. She never expected Frost to be so bold, daring and ultimately foolish with his actions but that didn't stop her from being prepared.

It only took an instant but in that brief moment Khione's entire demeanour shifted. Her growing blush and inappropriate thoughts vanished replaced with rage and bloody killing intent.

"You must really want to die Frost." Khione quietly spoke with an icy tone laced with the full extent of her aura; she wasn't joking with her threat. She was really willing to kill Frost if he dared to continue to act in such a flippant manner towards her, Shivali and Frejya be damned.

Of course Frost understood this fact, embarrassing Khione in front of her parents was not his final goal. "Hoh are you sure you want to release such killing intent towards me, Khione?" Having her threaten him with killing intent however, was.

The moment Frost finished speaking and before Khione could realise his nefarious intentions her body was suddenly oppressed by an energy far beyond her own, an energy she knew well and greatly feared.

With a cold sweat dripping from her brow and a shivering spine Khione turned her head around to see the icy glare of her mother honed in on her like a hawk. She looked displeased.

Frost couldn't hear whatever Frejya was discreetly saying to her daughter, but he watched in joy as all colour drained from her face and her expression warped in frustration.

He indirectly tattled, using the might of Khione's mother to protect his interests. Not the most honourable thing but what else could he do when his opponent eclipsed him in strength.

Freyja released her daughter from her oppressive energy after ordering her to stop messing around and to quietly eat her meal under the threat of strict punishment.

Khione reluctantly nodded her head before glancing at the smiling Frost who had already wiped his hands clean of the entire thing and started cutting up his steak, eager to try the taste of a true dragon.

"That was a low blow asshole!" She quietly muttered, not daring to let her mother hear her words.

"Perhaps but you started it remember." Frost felt pleasantly chuffed; his little manipulation worked perfectly. He couldn't handle Khione, but her mother certainly could.

'It smells so good.' After saying his final piece and seeing Khione pout her lips in annoyance he no longer bothered with her and redirected his attention back to the meal before him.

He curiously sniffed each of the ingredients and tested their texture with his knife and fork before taking a tiny bite of the steak.

The moment that succulent meat touched his tongue Frost felt as though his entire body was being enveloped by its rich, dense flavour. A feeling that only became more and more intense as he chewed and shredded the tender meat.

Before he knew it he had already devoured half of the steak and his body that had been lacking in strength because of his earlier training with Khione was now bursting with intense energy. He felt his blood, organs and bones tremble with joy as they became refined, stronger and more durable.

The immense life force held within the dragon's flesh invaded his every molecule, targeting the most weak areas to improve first.

As though in a trance Frost continued to eat his meal one voracious bite at a time and by the end there was not even a single crumb remaining on his plate. A process that unfortunately only took a few minutes, his half-conscious state preventing him from being able to savour the meal.

"First time eating something cooked by a high ranking spirit chef?" Shivali, who was only halfway through his steak, asked with a gentle smile, not mocking him in the slightest unlike Khione who didn't bother to hide the disdain in her eyes as she slowly and delicately ate with small, refined bites.

Frost in her eyes was truly akin to a poor peasant, no better than a beast with the way he devoured his meal.

"Ugh…That obvious." Frost felt embarrassed, not wanting to appear like a country bumpkin in front of his kind aunt and uncle. Even less so in front of his annoying new friend who'd likely enjoy lording it over him whenever she got the chance.

"It's nothing to be embarrassed about Frost, you just ate a little quickly that's all. A common reaction towards a meal that holds far more energy than you're used to." Hoping to save his face Frejya chimed in with words of comfort.

He actually reacted much better than the two of them expected, a meal using S-rank ingredients and prepared by a 7 star chef even the monarchs running the mightiest sapient empires couldn't dine on such luxury. They half expected Frost's instincts to completely take over, turning him into a ravenous beast the moment he inhaled the storm dragon steak's heady scent. In such a scenario they would have used their divine energy to curb his outburst, allowing him dine normally but in the end it wasn't needed. Frost proved to have great control over his baser instincts.

"Once you get more used to high class dining Frost you'll be able to focus on the flavour of the meal rather than the benefits it brings. Practise makes perfect my dear nephew." Shivali nodded his head, agreeing with his wife words. Frost had nothing to be ashamed about.

"Is that your way of offering me your chef?"
