Dungeon Overlord: Monster Girl Harem!-Chapter 217: Invitation to Sisterhood?
Chapter 217: Invitation to Sisterhood?
Erina’s body slid back through the dirt, both hands holding her dual-sided spear, twisting it slightly to deflect the force from Gul Dadan’s blow.
’Damn it feels like my arms are burning!’
"Hehehe!"
The Orc bellowed, rushing at her with heavy steps, showing no sense of slowing down as the greatclub whistled through the air in a swiping arc.
Erina’s body lifted off the floor from the wind mana that followed the club, her muscles jolted with an ache before she forcibly used holy mana to heal the damage.
"Holy burst!"
A flash of light spread from her body, healing her wounds slightly and sending burning light towards the Orc to buy time.
Tap Tap Tap
Erina’s feet staggered back as she avoided the blow with a few inches to spare, the wind cutting her cheeks and knocking her off balance, while her holy light caused the orc to recoil with a hand covering its face.
’Now!’
Her body was still delicate, but the holy mana running through her body could enhance her speed and strength for short bursts.
Erina wasn’t like the other two; her mana wasn’t strong against normal monsters. It could give people a slight boost in attributes or heal them at most with a small damaging effect, but the cost to do this wasn’t worth it.
Unlike Asuka, who could burn people, or Sylvie, who froze them, Erina lacked a spark.
Taking advantage of the Orc’s moment of weakness, she spun and swung her bladed staff, aiming at the Orc Chief’s throat. Her eyes flashed with holy light, burning with a desire to win as she poured more holy power into her limbs, the sensation akin to cramming too much into a bag... a dull ache, followed by a slight tearing pain.
’I can handle this!’
Through Nyxara’s training, her physique and style began to change, and she wanted to continue.
’Further.... Further! So he cannot abandon me!’
The tip of her spear glowed, bright and bright with holy mana condensing into a brilliant white aura.
"Die, Pig!"
The Orc’s giant body lunged forward, smashing Erina’s spear into its chest.
The blunt force of his weight sent her back, crashing to the ground and rolling in the dirt.
"Foolish woman!" The Orc laughed as blood poured down his chest, the blue blood looked brighter than the others... at least the wound still shone with a divine light.
’I... did it!?’
She staggered to her feet, using the spear to steady herself.
Erina’s eyes shone bright, the emerald orbs filled with excitement... a strange obsession with turning her holy mana into a weapon.
’Nyxara said it could work, and it did!’
"Ugh..." She suddenly covered her mouth after coughing.
Crimson red...
Blood stained her palm, and overworking herself to force the divine energy into a weapon went against the god’s teachings.
’To think this is the cost of deviating from my path...’
Erina closed her eyes and muttered a healing prayer, which could only heal her wounds at the surface.
That was enough to stop the blood.
"I don’t care!"
With a roar, she spun her spear and dashed forward, the Orc’s movements slower after the wound, but his eyes sharper... Gul Dadan wasn’t stupid.
"Shameful!" He said, knowing she had forced her body.
Erina ignored the pig’s words. Her green eyes sharpened with a holy aura, the divine energy emanating from her body like smoke, and the air shimmered with golden light.
’To make it a weapon, I must focus!’
Clang!
Her blade caught the greatclub, sending her back a meter as she slid along the floor. She then poured mana into her legs, using it for a quick burst of speed to evade another blow.
Erina’s body flickered across the Orc’s vision, but he didn’t falter. His eyes could see everything and predict her movements.
"What a shame, such a beautiful female."
To the seasoned warrior, he could see her burning not just her mana but her lifeforce... unaware of the meaning or reason for the battle, he decided to settle it. To kill her.
His muscles bulged, then shrank two sizes, his breath stopped as he focused all his aura into a single strike.
The great club moved through the air at incredible speed, too fast for Erina to dodge or block.
’What?!’
Erina’s pupils shrank as she watched the incoming attack...
’NO!’
If she blocked with the spear, it would break; her bones couldn’t endure this. The world became slow, at least it seemed so, as her brain went into overdrive. "Holy Barrier!" Desperate, she poured all her mana into a thick shield that wouldn’t protect her body, but where the greatclub would impact.
"More...More...Ack...More!"
Blood dripped from her lips, holy mana wasn’t like the other elements... too closely linked to life like unholy mana to death.
Bang!
The force of the club didn’t lessen, but Erina did manage to direct it to the side, her body rolling through the dirt before slamming into the wall.
Erina’s head shook, the wooden wall created to protect the dark elf village cracked, and she lay in the dirt... bruised, battered, and gasping for air.
She looked at her hand.
The fingers were pale, her arms weak.
"It’s over." Gul Dadan said with a smirk, taking his time to approach the exhausted woman.
’Can’t I fight... Can I not change?’
Frustration... and desire, the more it increased, the dirtier her thoughts and desires became.
She wanted to kill to monopolise and take him for herself...
Ba-Dump...
A wave of magic spread through the forest... a wavelength most might miss.
However, one person didn’t.

"I see..." Zafira’s golden eyes looked down at the priestess, one of her rivals and someone she once hated. "You’ve reached your limit. To push yourself this far is impressive for a human."
Her body descended as the Orc lifted his club to end the battle, her wings fluttered as the air became cold, not like Sylvie’s ice... but closer to death and desolation.
"Little girl, you shouldn’t push yourself any further."
"W-Who are you?!" The Orc’s voice shook at the beautiful creature before him... long, silky black hair, feathered wings... and curved horns
Zafira paid him no heed.
Instead, she walked past him and bent down in front of Erina.
"You know, right?" She said, knowing full well that humans had little talent.
Zafira knelt beside Erina and stroked her head, muttering soft words in the girl’s ear. "You’ve done well to reach the point of almost destroying yourself. I am impressed, if you wish to serve beside him so desperately... shall I give you the power to do so?"
Erina’s emerald eyes looked into her golden orbs...
"What are you doing!?"
The Orc chief shouted, his club raised above his head like an executioner.
"Kneel."
A simple, casual word from Zafira yet... the air shook as if she screamed at the top of her lungs.
The next moment, the best dropped... his club rolling beside him.
"I shouldn’t have interfered, because he wanted you to awaken by yourself... but I’ve changed my mind, I don’t want you to disappear... or burn out here."
Erina’s green eyes widened as she stared at the beautiful woman. ’Why?’
Her mouth oozed blood... unable to properly speak, her chest burning and stomach cramping.
Erina knew she had gone too far; this was something she didn’t practise, yet she didn’t want to lose that feeling, the hope that she might become important.
"Because you’re destined to become one of his wives, like me!"
Zafira’s words echoed through Erina’s mind as she felt her body shift, the world becoming lighter, her thoughts clearer...
"Though he probably wanted to be the one to transform you... How about it, will you become my sister?"
The words were soft, like a gentle lullaby that Erina’s heart couldn’t ignore.
’She... wants me too?!’
That small hope, the tiny flame in Erina’s chest, roared to life. Even if it made him angry now... power, that’s what she needed to stay here, the place she hated a few weeks before, but the village of Arlet... the goblins and even Nyxara and the dark elves started to grow on her.
’Especially him...’
Erina tried to picture his face in her mind.
She didn’t know when exactly she fell for him, or why it felt so comfortable with him...
But now she understood it was time.
’I’m ready to admit my feelings... so please... make me stronger!’
"Woman, I will KILL YOU! The Orc, still kneeling, growled, veins bulging from his forehead, blood pouring from his nose as he tried to force himself free of the succubi’s binding.
Zafira turned back with a cruel smile, her wings spread as a massive black tail lashed out.
Thump!
A crunching noise echoed before his body flew across the forest, crashing into trees.
"Erina... a human that I once despised.
This chance is the only one to surpass me, to reach a level no other woman besides him can.
This core... is special."
In Zafira’s hand, a black core with a small pink rune shimmered. It wasn’t normal and a level above the cores that Leonhardt chose, apart from his world-eater core...
The vivid impression was a succubus.
With a sharp glare and smirk, Zafira’s golden eyes loomed in Erina’s vision as her devilishly seductive voice echoed in her mind.
"Will you accept this core, Sister?"
