Earth's Alpha Prime-Chapter 308: Bloodline Transformation
Chapter 308: Bloodline Transformation
Watching Jay effortlessly weave through his attacks and dart around with uncanny speed, Drogor scowled, irritation sparking in his eyes. "Tsk... a speed-based Innate Talent? How troublesome," he muttered under his breath.
For someone like Drogor, whose Pseudo-Strength Energy granted him abnormal raw power, opponents with superior mobility had always been his bane. His ability didn't enhance his physical strength directly but instead multiplied his attack power fourfold whenever he shrouded himself in the energy.
While this gave him a massive offensive edge, it offered no additional defense or burst of speed—a glaring vulnerability when facing someone faster than him.
Speedsters were his natural counter. They turned his monstrous strength into a disadvantage, slipping past his blows and leaving him swinging at air.
He had been on the brink of conquering Obelisks multiple times over the past few days, but the challenge proved insurmountable. Each attempt ended in a relentless assault by a hundred Tier-4 peak monsters attacking in unison, forcing him to retreat.
Unable to push through that final step, he was left with no choice but to reluctantly use the Obelisk's Escape Stone—a lifeline available only once a day.
He wouldn't have been able to conquer an Obelisk if not for the Bloodline Metamorphosis he had undergone just hours earlier. Now, Drogor aimed to eliminate Jay in a single, decisive strike, hoping to catch him off guard before he could fully grasp the abnormal, devastating power of his Pseudo-Strength Energy.
To his surprise, however, his opponent appeared fully aware of the danger and skillfully avoided confronting his attacks directly.
Realizing the fight was turning against him with no clear advantage, Drogor had no choice but to unveil his trump card. Dropping his offensive stance, he backed away, a sly smirk forming as he spoke. "With your speed, I can't hope to land any of my punches on you. But don't think for a second that's all I've got."
With a powerful shout, Drogor roared, "Bloodline Transformation!" His body began to grow rapidly, bones cracking as a pair of blood-red wings burst from his back, spreading wide until they were larger than his towering form.
Golden, curved horns grew from his forehead, and pulsating bright sky-blue patterns appeared on his body, stretching from his neck down like a protective layer.
His height shot up from four meters to a staggering sixteen meters. With one flap of his wings, Drogor rose into the sky, his eyes glowing with confidence as the transformation filled him with power.
His stats surged, putting him on par with a Tier-5 Mid-Phase lifeform—a whole Tier higher than before. The transformation didn't just boost his stats; it also granted him the║Attack Dragon Physique║, a trait that improved his defense, increased his flight speed, and helped him adapt quickly to his new power.
This was Drogor's third time using the transformation, and he had gained enough experience to control the sudden boost in his abilities, a feat that would normally take days to master.
With a burst of speed, Drogor dove toward Jay, his massive size making the battlefield feel cramped. The platform shook under the force of his movements, leaving Jay less room to evade.
Even with the restricted space, Jay managed to avoid Drogor's attacks, moving swiftly and keeping just out of reach.
Yet, each blow seemed futile, rebounding harmlessly against the glowing patterns of the║Attack Dragon Physique║. It was as though Jay's attacks struck an invisible barrier, leaving his efforts seemingly futile.
Jay wasn't without options. Activating his newly upgraded║Berserk║skill, his five main attributes surged by 60%, elevating his overall stats to match the peak of a Tier-5 Mid-Phase lifeform—the same standard Drogor had reached with his Bloodline Transformation.
The upgrade to Myth grade made║Berserk║immensely powerful, though it could no longer stack with other stat-enhancing skills like║Strength Boost-IV║,║Agility Boost-IV║, or aura-based stat boosts. But even on its own, the boost from║Berserk║was more than enough.
Jay's movement speed, amplified by his Pseudo-Speed Energy, soared to a staggering 10.4 Mach—about 3,500 meters per second—five times faster than the average Tier-5 Mid-Phase lifeform.
In comparison, Drogor's airborne speed, bolstered by his Draconic Wings and Draconic Physique, reached 4.3 Mach. Drogor had initially counted on his aerial advantage to dominate the fight, but those hopes vanished the moment he saw Jay moving just as fast on the ground as Drogor could in the air.
With these improved stats and the devastating power of Pseudo-Strength Energy, Drogor's attacks could now rival those of a Tier-6 Low-Phase lifeform. Yet, this meant little when Jay remained elusive, darting out of reach before Drogor could land a decisive blow.
To any onlooker, the battle was a blur of motion, streaks of golden-azure light and reddish-blue energy clashing with such speed that shockwaves rippled outward, dispersing clouds and shaking the sky.
Each collision created explosions of power, yet neither side showed signs of relenting. Jay's strikes, executed at incredible velocity, carried the force of a Tier-5 High-Phase lifeform, but they failed to inflict critical damage. Drogor's Physique absorbed the brunt of every blow, his defenses holding firm.
Drogor's resilience was far beyond what Jay had expected, especially for someone possessing the Attack Dragon Bloodline, a lineage known for its unparalleled offensive power and exceptional flight speed. He paused briefly, recalling what MJ had warned during Drogor's transformation:
"Master, you can't underestimate the Dragon Bloodline. Their defense is second only to the Fiend Race. The Dragon Clan is among the Top-10 Clans of the Universe, with Tier-10 powerhouses guarding their ranks."
According to MJ, before the System assimilated with the Universe, Bloodlines were the foundation of power, and the Dragon Bloodline was among the most powerful.
When the Fiend Race waged a war against all major Bloodline Races to conquer the Universe, the Dragon Race joined forces with other races to resist them. This conflict, later known as the Bloodline War, became a legendary struggle.
The Fiend Race, however, possessed a nearly unbeatable advantage: their cheat-like ability to resurrect from Essence Crystals—cores that could be separated from their bodies and hidden in secure locations. This allowed them to outlast their enemies, prolonging the war and causing devastating losses to the opposing Bloodline Races.
The war finally came to an end when the System began assimilating with the Universe. It established the Sentinel Order, an organization that enforced peace and put an end to the conflict.
By then, however, the toll on the Bloodline Races had been immense. Many had been reduced to remnants, with only a handful surviving. The Dragon Race was among the lucky few, narrowly avoiding extinction.
Under the Sentinel Order's protection, the Dragon Race rebuilt over billions of years, eventually reclaiming their former glory and cementing themselves as one of the Universe's top powers. Within the Dragon Bloodline, there were several branches, and the Attack Dragon branch was among the strongest.
For Drogor to awaken such a powerful Bloodline signified incredible potential. Even without considering his Grade-9 Innate Talent, reaching Tier-9 in the future was almost certain. With a sufficiently pure Bloodline, even ascending to Tier-10 was not out of the question.
Jay, despite the confidence he'd gained from his recent evolution, skill upgrades, and significant stat boosts, found that confidence waning as he faced Drogor. The realization of Drogor's potential and the might of his Bloodline was overwhelming.
The state of Synchrony kept Jay's expression neutral, but if not for that, his shock would have been evident—just as MJ had been stunned upon learning of Drogor's heritage.
In another scenario, without Jay's presence, Drogor would have had a much higher chance of becoming the Alpha Prime.
Had it not been for Jay, his path to becoming the Alpha Prime would have been far more certain.
