Chapter 293: An Audacious Bitch

Third-person POV

Seraphina walked into the dining hall, hoping to find Electra there. It was clearly dinner time, and since waking up, taking a shower, and changing her clothes, Seraphina still hadn’t seen Electra anywhere.

She walked over to the table where Electra and her friends usually sat, but as soon as she got close, her steps slowed down. The table wasn’t empty, but it also wasn’t what she expected. Seated at the table were only two people, Yuna and Iris. None of Electra’s friends were there.

Seraphina frowned. She didn’t like seeing them there, especially not at Electra’s table. Iris had her back turned, but Yuna, who was sitting across from her, noticed Seraphina almost immediately. Yuna’s eyes narrowed, and then she scoffed loudly.

"Well, look who finally woke up," Yuna said, smirking. "If this isn’t a surprise. What the hell happened to you? Last I saw you, you were being carried out of some filthy bunker, completely unconscious."

Seraphina’s face stayed calm, though her brows furrowed slightly. The last thing she wanted was to get into a fight with Yuna. She wasn’t even sure she had the energy for it.

"It’s good to see you too, Yuna," Seraphina said quietly.

Her voice was polite but clearly distant, and she gave one last glance around the hall, confirming Electra and the others weren’t there, then turned to leave.

Before she could walk away, Iris suddenly reached out and grabbed her arm. Seraphina froze. Her eyes slowly moved to meet Iris’s.

"You’re looking for your girlfriend, right?" Iris asked with a small, cold smile. Her grip on Seraphina’s arm tightened just slightly, enough to let Seraphina know she was doing it on purpose.

Seraphina’s heart started to beat faster, but she didn’t show it. She calmly pulled her arm away.

"I believe who I’m looking for is none of your business," she replied.

Meanwhile, the food on Electra’s plate remained mostly untouched, and she barely registered the conversations happening around her.

Her head rested lightly in her palm, eyes half-closed. That was until Roxana suddenly blurted out, loud enough for every one of them to hear, "Isn’t that Seraphina?"

Electra’s heart jumped.

She snapped her head up and followed Roxana’s gaze toward their old table. Her breath caught in her throat when her eyes landed on Seraphina, standing awkwardly in front of Yuna and Iris.

It was her. Seraphina was awake.

A rush of warmth spread through Electra’s chest, and before she even realized it, she was already getting up. A genuine smile lit up her face, soft and rare.

She cupped her hands to her mouth and called out, "Seraphina! Over here!"

Seraphina looked up at the sound of her name and immediately locked eyes with Electra. A smile tugged at her lips, and her shoulders visibly relaxed. She looked just as relieved to see Electra as Electra was to see her, but just as Seraphina was about to turn and head toward her, it happened.

Iris, who had been staring at Seraphina with both intrigue and disgust, picked up her cup of water. Without any warning, she "accidentally" tilted it forward and dumped the cold contents all over Seraphina’s shirt.

"Oops," Iris said, feigning surprise. Her voice was light and mocking, and she even gasped a little, pretending like it had been a mistake.

Seraphina stood frozen for a second, the front of her shirt now soaked and clinging to her skin. Her fingers trembled slightly as she looked down at the mess and then back up at Iris.

The hall had gone quiet, and everyone was watching.

Electra didn’t even think. She pushed her chair back and stormed across the dining hall. The girls at the surrounding tables leaned back, unsure of what was about to happen.

Irina and Roxana were right behind her, while Penelope stayed seated, her jaw clenched.

"Are you out of your damn mind?" Electra snapped as she reached the table. Her eyes were blazing, and the calm she’d been holding onto shattered.

Iris didn’t flinch. She calmly set her cup back on the table and looked up at Electra. "Relax, it was an accident."

"An accident, huh?" Electra narrowed her eyes.

Seraphina stepped in quickly, placing a hand gently on Electra’s arm. "It’s okay, Electra. I’m fine."

"It’s not okay," she said sharply to Seraphina, but her eyes were locked on Iris. Electra stepped forward, her jaw clenched, her breath coming in quick bursts. "I let you sit there, and I let you run your mouth. I looked the other way, but you really thought it was smart to mess with her?"

Iris leaned back in her chair casually, twirling a strand of her red hair around her finger. She tilted her head and smiled sweetly. "Aren’t you being a bit dramatic, Electra? It was just water, and it was clearly a mistake."

She turned to Seraphina with a smirk. "Didn’t mean to wet the princess’s favorite dog."

Gasps echoed from nearby tables, and even Yuna froze. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Electra barely registered her own movement. One second she was standing, and the next, her fingers were wrapped around Iris’s throat.

The table clattered loudly as chairs screeched, and students stood up in alarm. Electra’s grip tightened with a fury that shook her fragile body.

"You really don’t know when to shut up," she hissed. "I should—"

Iris didn’t struggle, she didn’t panic, and her smirk didn’t fade. Instead, she just locked eyes with Electra, calm, collected, and chilling. Then, with a sudden movement that no one expected, she grabbed Electra’s wrist and twisted.

Electra gasped as her grip loosened, more out of shock than pain. Her strength was still not fully returned, and Iris used that to her advantage, forcing Electra to let go.

"You should really rest more," Iris said, brushing her neck and standing up slowly. "Looks like you’re not quite back to full power yet, Your Highness."

Roxana had already jumped to Electra’s side in split seconds. "Back off," she growled, stepping between Iris and Electra.

Irina and Penelope, who finally stood up, flanked Seraphina, who had been standing in stunned silence, her eyes wide with confusion and worry. Electra took a step back, trying to steady her breathing. Her hands were trembling.

"You’re the one," Electra muttered, staring at Iris. "You’re the pureblood."

Iris didn’t deny it. She just smiled, that same infuriating smile, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Now, now, little one," she said. "Let’s not make a scene."
