Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 39: You’re Asking for It
"F*ck..."
Song Yi stared at the text, and cursed inwardly.
Having free thoughts meant she could think whatever she wanted, in whatever position she desired.
She felt her dignity as a cheeky girl was being challenged like never before.
She steeled herself and gritted her teeth, then replied—
"Just thinking isn’t enough."
"How about giving me a chance? To touch you. Or put it another way, I want to touch you, is that okay?"
"Simply put, I want the freedom to act, with you."
Not long after, she received a reply from Tang Si: "Try it."
Staring at the screen, Song Yi bit her lip. Was that a blatant threat... or a blatant tease?
That night, Song Yi was indeed thinking about something else. It had to be said, Tang Si had a way of distracting her, making her feel like someone was accompanying her on the other end of the phone screen. It made her think about him all night...
...
The next morning, the rain had stopped, but the sky was still misty, gray and heavy, as if the clouds were pressing down.
Song Yi woke up early, seeing Mu Wanxue still asleep beside her. She breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like she had seen the sun for another day, safely making it through the night.
As she turned to get out of bed, Mu Wanxue suddenly opened her eyes. Those clear eyes just stared at Song Yi.
Song Yi was startled, but her face showed no change. "Awake?"
"You sleep a bit more, I’ll go downstairs to buy some breakfast." Song Yi said with a smile, acting no different from usual.
"I want buns and fried dough sticks, and also a hand-grab pancake." Mu Wanxue mumbled sleepily, listing her order.
She acted as if nothing had happened.
Suddenly, Song Yi couldn’t associate her with Wu Wang’s death anymore.
She put on a pair of wide-leg pants and a high-waisted short-sleeved top, accentuating her figure. She slightly tidied her hair in the mirror, then headed out.
Song Yi looked very pretty, and her outfit gave her a soft, girl-next-door vibe.
As she walked to the door, a force suddenly pulled her into the nearby fire escape. A scent of green tea mixed with a faint hint of tobacco hit her.
Song Yi instinctively struggled and resisted, her elbow striking backward at the person behind her.
A large hand firmly caught her elbow, and the man raised an eyebrow. "You’ve got quite the strength, trying to cripple me?"
The words slipped from his throat, carrying a lazy, enticing tone. Deep and magnetic, also very familiar.
"Tang Si?"
"Mm." Tang Si released her. "Did you sleep well last night?"
Song Yi realized she quite enjoyed listening to Tang Si. It wasn’t just that his voice was seductively pleasant; his tone and cadence were just right, making it feel very comfortable.
She turned to face Tang Si, her brows looking exquisite, her red lips moving slightly. "Why are you looking for me so early?"
"Heartless, aren’t you?" Tang Si’s thin lips curled slightly, his tone light and breezy. "I watched over you all night, an all-nighter even. Think you could treat me to breakfast, Miss Song?"
He sounded as if joking.
Only then did Song Yi notice the faint fatigue in his eyes.
But this man naturally carried a lazy vibe and an air of decadence.
Her fox-like eyes narrowed slightly, and she let out a light laugh. Her unique voice lilting. "Do you know how cheeky you are?"
"Cheeky how?"
Song Yi mouthed a word at him.
The man’s eyes turned dangerously narrow.
He saw her mouth forming the word, slowly, silently.
—F*ck.
"Isn’t it true? Last night, you told me to try, but you came here this early? If not for that, then what?"
Tang Si: "What are you talking about? Zhou Liang replied to you last night."
Song Yi: "?!?!?"
