Enchanting His Heart: His Little Fox-Chapter 94: You’ll Protect Me, Right?
At the same time, Tang Si’s gaze keenly drifted over to that spot.
The light of dawn pierced through the clouds, casting somewhat dim rays on the distant building. Beyond it lay mountains, shrouded in hazy mist that spread wantonly, cloaking parts of the building.
It seemed as though it was about to engulf the building, devour it, and drag it into the depths of the mountain forest... 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The building’s renovation was recent, clearly having been refurbished.
But the most striking feature was the decayed and ruinous door of one of the rooms, surrounded by the new walls.
From a distance, it looked as if the door had just been firmly shut a second ago, the creaking sound seemingly emanating from that direction, echoing back in the cold wind around our ears.
Song Yi’s heart pounded with unease, a chill rising from her toes and spreading through her body, causing her hair to stand on end.
Clearly, there was nothing there.
Song Yi withdrew her gaze, stepping back two paces to stand beside Tang Si: "Does someone live in that room?"
"No," Tang Si explained. "The previous resident sacrificed themselves; the room has been kept for them ever since."
This was what Tang Si had heard; the specifics were unclear.
"Oh." Song Yi tightened her grip, pursing her lips lightly. The light shone on her neck, clearly showing her swallowing: "So, does someone often go in to clean?"
But the words came out calm and steady, as if nothing had happened.
Tang Si, attentive and astute, glanced at her side, the faintest hint of a smile in his tone: "Afraid?"
Because the girls’ dormitory lay directly above that room.
Song Yi had returned alone to the dorm under the rain last night.
"Afraid of what? If it was sacrifice, they’d be a martyr, why fear?"
The wind rustled the leaves, creating a hissing sound, and the atmosphere began to feel off.
"Tang Si," Song Yi lowered her gaze, her eyes fixed on her toes, her voice soft: "I still feel like someone is watching me."
Her eyelashes quivered softly, the fluff covering her bright eyes: "Can I report to the police for protection?"
Tang Si furrowed his brow slightly: "You’ve had this feeling all along?"
Song Yi nodded: "All along."
Tang Si raised his eyes, settling his gaze once more on the tightly closed old door.
A deep, piercing investigation filled his eyes.
A second or two later, he withdrew his gaze, gently pinching Song Yi’s shoulder: "It’s okay."
"Your phone isn’t confiscated; call me if there’s anything."
The man’s grip wasn’t strong but provided her with ample security.
Song Yi slowly raised her eyes at this moment, a pitiful look flooding her gaze: "If I call you, you’ll protect me, right?"
Her eyes burned as she watched the tall, wild Tang Si before her.
Hoping for his answer.
Many men pursued her, but only Tang Si promised to protect her.
Indeed, Tang Si once said, call the police brother, he would protect her.
Tang Si looked at her and suddenly smiled, a lazy curve lifting at the corners of his eyes, instantly breaking the tense atmosphere.
His steady presence, the allure of a mature man, could easily dominate the whole vibe.
He laughed: "Didn’t you just say you weren’t afraid?"
Song Yi, unnerved by his smile, felt her dread dissipate: "Afraid if I die, I can’t pursue you anymore, that would be quite a pity."
"You didn’t answer my question just now."
"Of course I will."
Three words, leisurely paced, the tone comforting, his voice carrying a uniquely magnetic rasp.
Like an unending wildfire, fiercely burning in her heart, seeing him like this, she suddenly thought—
