Chapter 230: Crown Prince Who Walks Alone

The Rosalia Troupe trio: Shirley, Sirena, and Sophie promised to take good care of the Fragrant Garden on Leonard’s behalf.

With the removal of Darius, the Fragrant Garden had also undergone tremendous change. It was now a hub to safeguard and shelter vulnerable women.

But that was merely on the surface. What was beneath the surface was a new intelligence network.

Given Shirley’s ability to survive and gain information during her plight, she was a suitable candidate to lead this network.

"Alright, I won’t disturb this place anymore." Leonard dusted off some soil from his pants.

Just as he was about to leave, Shirley pursed her lips and asked in concern.

"Will you not bid farewell to the other women?"

The others naturally referred to the ones whom Leonard had rescued from the Slave Coops. Till now, they have remained grateful for him, who granted them the chance to live without fear anymore.

"No need," Leonard shook his head. "I saved them not to earn their gratitude or want them to repay me. As long as they survive and remain strong, that is enough for me."

Shirley hesitated briefly. She wanted to say something, but ultimately bowed and respected his decision.

He could have totally manipulated these rescue women into being his loyal pawns. They had all suffered and could do what most women couldn’t.

However, Leonard had made it clear that he desired none of those manipulative behaviors and only wished for their well-being.

’The Crown Prince really is different.’ Shirley smiled warmly as she watched Leonard’s disappearing silhouette.

"Indeed... I would have been in joy if he had taken me in, even as a plaything." Sophie sighed.

Her commentary quickly caught Shirley and Sirena’s attention.

"What? I can’t speak my mind out now?" Sophie pursed her lips.

She didn’t dare to voice her true thoughts aloud in front of Leonard, but surely she could say it to them.

"You’re mistaken," Sirena shook her head and sighed deeply. "I’ll be willing to even warm his bed without any identity."

"Alright, let’s dream about it tonight. But for now, we must accomplish the Crown Prince’s orders." Shirley clasped her hands.

The three of them soon proceeded with their task in silent bitterness. A man as shining as the Crown Prince entering their life was destined to be full of regret.

...

While the three silently lamented their fate, Leonard had wandered through the streets.

He naturally understood the three women’s mindset, but he had no intention of bringing them to a pit of fire.

The capital appeared glamorous and the heart of the continent on the surface.

But secretly, it was a treacherous path filled with death at every corner.

’Hah, I have enough blood in my hands.’ Leonard paused his steps and glanced at the people filling the streets. Since last night, he had ordered that the lockdown be lifted.

Because of that, merchants and those who had been waiting to enter the city all flocked in.

As for the citizens living in Velastra, they were exhilarated to see the city had changed for the better.

"Hehe, come and chase me~" A little kid ran past Leonard. The kid had a small handheld pinwheel in his hand. Following the little kid was a young girl who giggled as she ran.

Leonard smiled lightly upon seeing the kids playing around.

His smile continued to widen when he stumbled across another group of kids who were assigning roles in their game.

"No, I want to be the Crown Prince of Aldros!"

"Why should you be the Crown Prince? I’ll say you should play Darius Melton instead. You look more like that villain!"

"No, I do not look like that villain! I am the Crown Prince!"

Amidst the group’s arguing, Leonard calmly approached them and asked curiously. "Why do you all want to be Crown Prince?"

When the kids heard his question, they paused their conversation and turned their attention to him.

"Because the Crown Prince is the savior of our city." One innocent kid said before finding Leonard to be quite suitable for the Crown Prince’s role.

"Does big brother want to play the Crown Prince? You resemble this figurine." Another one chimed in and revealed their small figurine, which was sculpted from a piece of wood.

"Quite exquisite." Leonard complimented softly. He wasn’t referring to the craftsmanship, but the propaganda that had been used.

For the kids to look at the Crown Prince in a good light meant that he had earned quite the public approval. Although it was done selfishly, the truth remained that the changes he made were meant to benefit the commoners.

"Here, you can use this to buy your friends some snacks. Big brother still has business to do and can’t play the Crown Prince’s role." Leonard returned the wooden figurine and gave a few coins as repayment.

"Hehe, thank you, Big Brother!"

"You are also kind like the Crown Prince!"

Instantly, the group of kids complimented and fawned over him. Their mind were very innocent and simple. Those who do them good, they will reciprocate in kind.

"I work for the Crown Prince, so I guess I inherited his trait." Leonard chuckled amusingly and waved his hand to bid farewell.

The kids also waved their hands and kept his words in mind.

By purposely revealing that he works for the Crown Prince, this small episode could garner their loyalty and desire to join his ranks in the future.

Sometime later, Leonard strolled further around the streets to inspect the current situation.

Once he confirmed that everything had changed and people no longer held that worried and concerned look, he nodded in approval.

’It might take another few years to completely change, but this is enough already.’ He thought to himself.

He no longer had any more concerns revolving around Velastra if he were to leave.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the dock.

"Crown Prince, everything is ready." Curtis immediately greeted him and informed him that they could depart at any time.

"Then let’s board the ship and depart." Leonard calmly said. He was ready to face tougher challenges upon his return.
