Chapter 234: The Blind Strategist

A few minutes after the Crown Prince’s flag had been raised, Leonard’s expression turned sour.

He stood by the deck of the ship and stomped his foot.

"Are you kidding me?" He clicked his tongue and turned to Mirelle.

"Are they provoking me on purpose?" He questioned, his finger pointing at the approaching ship, which seemed to have increased in speed.

Mirelle also frowned slightly. The Crown Prince’s flag had been raised, which should be enough of a signal to deter evildoers.

No matter what was said or done, the evildoers shouldn’t be foolish enough to target a Crown Prince’s ship in such a manner.

Just when Mirelle wanted to say something, her magical perception detected something that caused her to stumble.

"What’s wrong?" Leonard extended his hand and held her back, keeping her in balance.

"T-They’re from the Royal Family." Mirelle caught her breath and explained hastily.

"Royal family?" Confused, he raised an eyebrow. "That ship belonged to one of my brothers?"

"Ah, not your Royal Family." She hurriedly clarified. "It’s the Royal Family from my home continent, the Windsor Family."

"The Windsor Family?" Leonard knitted his brows. It took him a moment to recall the Windsor name.

The Windsor Family conquered multiple lands and used their power to dominate the Xundraeth Continent.

Needless to say, such domination would definitely arouse some displeasure among the people. Not to mention, the border skirmishes against Kharnovos continued to dampen the Xundraeth Continent’s power and honor.

Ultimately, this series of causes led to the War Policy. One was to ensure the border skirmishes would be stabilized, and the second was to decentralize the people to prevent unity.

’This is the problem with having such large acres to rule over.’ Leonard shook his head. The Xundraeth Continent covered a vast amount of land. It was almost impossible to oversee everything.

Moreover, having such a large land made it easier for others to attack from multiple sides and directions.

"I get that their situation doesn’t look good despite what they show on the surface, but why are they coming after my ship?" He voiced his complaint.

Mirelle was rendered speechless.

How could a person change his personality this quickly?

Had she not personally witnessed how intelligent and composed Leonard was back at Velastra, then she might have really been fooled by his current reaction.

Full of incompetence and whining.

"I think it’s because they know who we are, which is why they’re coming after us," Mirelle explained awkwardly. She was certain he already knew the answer, but wanted her to do the explanation.

After all, there was no guarantee that they weren’t being spied on at the moment.

Their distance wasn’t far off from one of the capital’s main docks.

Sometime later, Curtis arrived at the scene and made a new discovery.

"Crown Prince, the other ship had declared their identity and sought our assistance."

"Their identity? Who is it?"

Leonard was quite dissatisfied with being dragged into another person’s mess.

"It’s Princess Eleanor." Curtis’s expression was complicated when he revealed the name. This was a name that was of high priority on the Crimson Guards’ list.

The high priority list didn’t necessarily mean enemy. It was only a list that warned them to pay close attention and be wary of.

"It’s actually her??!" Mirelle’s eyes widened. Out of all the royalty in the Windsor Family that could be on the ship, Eleanor was someone she didn’t think of.

"What? Do you know her well?" Leonard turned to her and asked.

"She’s known as the great strategist in the Xundraeth Continent. She may only be 22, but the war policy ended because of her." Mirelle responded.

’Great strategist and aged 22...’ Leonard remained indifferent on the surface. But silently, he sensed a bad premonition.

For an age like that, and being known as the great strategist. It was hard to imagine how difficult an opponent she would be.

While he was contemplating this woman, Mirelle suddenly smiled bitterly.

"It’s just a pity that she’s blind, according to the news, and her capabilities are being perceived as a threat to her other siblings."

Shortly after saying that, she glanced at Leonard with a funny look.

To the public, these two people could be said to be the polar opposite.

One was brave and competent, whereas the other was cowardly and incompetent.

There was even a great lament regarding Eleanor’s gender being a woman and not a man. Some even claim that god made a mistake and that Leonard should have been a woman.

Although Mirelle’s thoughts remained to herself, Leonard felt uncomfortable with her stare.

"Ahem, then why is such a person here?" He cleared his throat and asked. The Verillian Sea was nowhere close to the Xundraeth Continent.

"I have no idea." Mirelle shrugged. She wasn’t omnipotent, nor was she capable enough to spy on the princess movement.

Hell, even if she did, she still wouldn’t dare spy on Eleanor’s journey.

Eleanor could be said to be the beacon of light to the poor. Even Claudia respected Eleanor deep in the bottom of her heart.

"Hah, this is driving me insane." Leonard scratched his head and commanded.

"Go assist that princess. To even declare her identity publicly. If I still refuse to lend a hand, then it might give the Xundraeth Continent leverage against us."

This princess sure played a very nasty hand.

He was forced to be compelled into her game and be played like a fiddle.

Half an hour later...

With Curtis’s lead and command, the enemies chasing after Eleanor were repelled.

There was no capturing because the enemies directly committed suicide on the spot. Even the ship had a self-detonation to destroy all sorts of evidence.

While the enemies were dealt with, Eleanor’s ship soon connected with Leonard’s.

"Our princess wishes to express her gratitude and invite the Crown Prince over." Albert boarded the ship and politely said.

"Why should our Crown Prince go over to your ship?" Curtis narrowed his eyes suspiciously. The other ship hadn’t been investigated properly. It would be dangerous if Leonard were to board their ship alone.

"Apologies, Sir." Albert remained composed and explained, "Our Princess is blind, and mobility isn’t quite smooth in this setting."
