Chapter 2557 The Storm God's Demands

"Dawnblade? Are you okay?" Silvermist arrived before Alex instantly, grabbing him to check him. He brought out pills to feed him, but Alex refused.

"I'm okay, Master. You should eat a pill yourself. Your arm is missing."

Silvermist looked down. He had forgotten he had lost an arm as well. "This doesn't matter," he said. "Are you really alright? How did you come back to life? I was certain you were dead."

"I will explain it later, Master," Alex said and turned toward Grimsight, who had arrived next to them too. He grabbed the old man and pulled him close, passing along a message he could have no one else listen to.

"If I am to truly die, please open my Soul Space in secret. You are the only one I can rely on for this."

Pearl and Whisker were inside, along with the older Alex and Emily. Alex cared less about the two plants as well as the thousands of other beasts inside. If he was to die, the only ones he cared about were the ones he loved, not the burdens he carried.

Grimsight was confused about what Alex was really asking this for, but he nodded. He understood that there were things the young man wanted to keep secret.

"Don't worry, you won't die this time. I will make sure of it," Grimsight said.

"Thank you, Senior."

The Sword God stepped toward them. "How did you do that?" he asked. "Why do you have the same powers as those cursed demons?"

The Undying God was a sore topic among the gods, and even though Purplerain had only relatively recently become a god, he had been very active as a Sword Sage during the war and had firsthand suffered from the Undying God.

No matter how strong his attacks were, he could never wound the man at all. Nothing was more frustrating than fighting him.

And today, after all these years, there was another person like that in front of him. All the rage and anger from that time came back to him at that moment as he felt himself getting angrier by the second.

"You truly must die!"

Grimsight sat with his spear ready to defend against the attack.

"You cannot kill me, Sword God," Alex said in a serious voice.

"I know how to kill you, boy. I've fought your kind before. All I need to do is run you out of Qi, and then you can never heal again. I can kill you," the Sword God said.

"You may know how to kill me, but you cannot kill me," Alex said. "If you believe in the prophecy of how I will destroy this world, then I believe in the prophecy that states how I will die."

"If prophecies are to be trusted, then this is not where I die."

The Sword God was angered, feeling as if he was being mocked. He raised his sword, ready to attack, but then his entire body froze.

A thick Qi enveloped his body at that moment, followed by two simple words. "Stand down."

The Storm God walked past him, making his way toward Alex.

Alex looked at the Storm God, feeling a sense of dread as well as a feeling of admiration that came with the man's unusual presence.

"Are you a demon?" the Storm God asked.

"I am not," Alex answered.

"Then how did you receive the Undying God's power?"

"In an inheritance."

The Storm God thought for a moment, trying to see if Alex was lying. "Do you come from a demon world?"

"I come from one of the few worlds that used to belong to demons but was transferred to the humans around the time when the war ended," Alex said.

The Storm God raised his eyebrows. "Give it to me."

Alex frowned. "I cannot."

"I am not asking, young man. This is a demand. Give me that technique."

The Storm God's words came with a thunderous ring. The ground shook as he spoke, like each syllable was the sound of a thunderclap.

Alex felt what he could only describe as forceful persuasion from those words, making him give the man what he asked for. But what he asked for was not something Alex was capable of giving.

"Storm God!" Grimsight said, stepping forward to confront him.

"You do not speak in my presence!"

The Storm God flicked his wrist, and Grimsight was tossed away, where he hit the barrier surrounding the stage and cracked it. Silvermist was similarly sent flying as well into the distance, leaving only Alex alone.

With Grimsight and Silvermist gone, the Storm God turned toward Alex, who was on the floor, plastered by the Celestial's presence. "Give it to me!"

"I… I cannot…" Alex answered.

The Storm God looked toward him. "Why not?"

"I… I cannot," Alex answered again.

"Why not?" the god demanded.

"I… I cannot…"

After the third repetition, the Storm God frowned. He could not believe that Alex would be capable of lying in his presence, so the only logical answer here was that he was telling the truth.

"Then I cannot save you," the Storm God said and turned toward the Sword God, who remained still, watching the entire ordeal. "He is all yours."

The Sword God smiled and stepped toward Alex. With Grimsight out of the way, the pitiful master beside the young man could not save him.

The Sword God held his purple sword up high, ready to swing down. "It may take me some time to kill you, but if you have any last words, you should speak them now."

"Last words?" Alex asked as he began recovering after the Storm God's passing. "I do not have any last words, but my friend has been wanting to say a few things to you for a while now."

The Sword God frowned. "Your friend?"

Alex grinned menacingly, and as he did, blackness bled through the side of his eyes like tears, quickly covering his his face. Dark veins appeared all over his body.

The Sword God saw this and recognized it for what it was. "You…"

Alex spoke again, but an entirely different voice came from him.

"I have searched heaven and hell," Godslayer slowly said. "And finally, I found you, Purplerain."
