Eternal Freedom's Ascension-Chapter 144: Boring
"Boring."
That word rang in Ysabella’s ears like a loud bell, making her freeze.
’Boring...? My... I... I am... boring? All my efforts are boring?’
She forced herself to look at him, her gaze full of hatred.
Kaiser ignored her and stared at a corner under his bed’s frame. There, a tiny camera was hung, recording everything that was happening. Kaiser opened his mouth and spoke.
"Shatter."
The camera folded inward, crushing itself instantly. Ysabella’s eyes went wide in shock.
’How did he know...?! How did he even do that!’
Her eyes were filled with panic, and she struggled to escape from his grip. However, it was futile. It was like his hand was glued to her neck.
’Damnit! I’m fucked! Literally!’
She had initially planned on blackmailing him with the recording of them kissing. After all, she had set it in an ambiguous angle that would make it seem like he was the one who kissed her. However, her plan was realized and destroyed.
’Fuck, what if he’s now aroused and decides to rape me? I wouldn’t be able to resist!’
She could clearly remember the feeling of powerlessness she felt the last time they met close to the shore.
Kaiser turned back to her, his face filled with sloth and boredom.
"Sigh, you made me waste energy again."
He dropped her to the ground, wheezing and rubbing her neck. He bent forward, effortlessly removing her phone from her pocket.
"I know you’re also recording our conversation. Another boring tactic, but at least you’re smart to have a Plan-B."
He dangled the phone right before her.
"Do you want me to force you to delete it, or you’ll do that yourself?"
Ysabella gritted her teeth, her fists clenched by her side.
"I’ll do it."
She agreed. The feeling of being controlled was nauseating and disgusting. She definitely didn’t want to feel that way again.
She unlocked her phone, then stopped and deleted the recording immediately. She also deleted it in her trash files, completely erasing it from her phone.
When she was done, Kaiser stretched a hand to her. Glaring at him, she grabbed his hand and let him help her up.
"I don’t want anything boring and tiring, Ysabella. If you’re going to attack me, use more... interesting methods."
Ysabella scoffed, went to his mini refrigerator, and drank half a bottle of cold water. Rubbing her neck one more time, she walked towards the door.
She paused, and said without looking back. "Kaiser. I will be the end of you."
The door slammed shut behind her, followed by a lonely sigh.
...
Early the next day, Kaiser left his room for a walk. He walked around the dormitory area, stopping in front of a drink machine vendor to get a drink.
’Coffee preferably.’
He chose what he wanted, waiting for the machine to dispense it.
A shadow stepped beside him. He didn’t turn to look, only picking the coffee from the dispenser.
"You don’t like something heavy?" A masculine voice said to him, filled with scorn and judgement.
Holding the coffee in his hand, Kaiser took a sip. "Quite the opposite. But too much can consume you instead."
"Heh. You’re quite sensible." The young man grinned, picking a can of beer instead. "However, only true kings can enjoy the luxury of things like this."
Kaiser finally turned to Apollo. "Is that so? Perhaps you’re right, perhaps you’re wrong."
Apollo gave him a wide grin. "You’re finally back from your hiding. Do you like my present?"
Kaiser raised his head, sighing tiredly. "That duel with Fang? It doesn’t concern me at all."
Apollo smirked, "Pretending to be indifferent? You’re already an important figure in your class, so it concerns you. They’re all your pawns, after all."
"It is more preferable to call them specimens in my laboratory."
"Tch. You’re really a weird person."
"You decide. I only have a word for you."
Turning away from him, Kaiser crushed the empty coffee cup in his hand.
"If you want to attack me, target me directly. Trying to use those around me is quite ineffective."
Apollo also turned away, crushing the beer can in his hand.
"You don’t tell me what to do. I’ll crush you—with whatever method I decide to use."
Kaiser nodded, throwing the crushed cup into a trashcan and pocketing his hands.
"Whatever you say."
They quietly separated, walking opposite ways.
Kaiser sucked in a cool breath, releasing it in a quiet hiss. Instead of returning to his room, he headed to the school building.
Since the school was on a break, the classes were empty and the instructors were free—temporarily. However, one particular office remained occupied.
Kaiser knocked on the Student Council office door, then pushed it open after hearing Secretary Reas’s voice.
Today, the Student Council President was seated in one of the cushions, with Secretary Reas gently massaging his shoulders.
Kaiser was surprised, but he didn’t think much about it. He took a seat adjacent to the president, his eyes fixed on the white blindfold.
"You’re not busy today, President. It is a surprise."
President Anthony exhaled softly, "I have just finished my first project and I’m taking a break."
He turned his head slightly. "You’re finally back from your family business—whatever it is."
Kaiser nodded calmly, his face devoid of any particular expression.
"I heard a bit about the scuffle between Apollo and Logan. It seems interesting." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Oh. Concerned about your fellow classmate?"
"Not at all, President. I’m only interested in the strange occurrence that happened to Logan."
Reas listened to their exchange quietly, not interrupting with her own thoughts.
’He doesn’t really care about his classmate? No wonder he could sell cameras even to his own class at a high cost.’
President Anthony paused slightly. "That... is a bit complicated. In fact, it is rather troublesome."
Leisurely crossing his legs, Kaiser displayed an intrigued smile. "Enlighten me, President."
Nodding, the blonde man tapped Reas’s hands, signalling for her to stop. The young lady nodded, then went ahead to prepare tea.
Rolling his shoulders, President Anthony leaned forward.
"What Logan experienced is called Bloodline Awakening."
Kaiser’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained silent.
"After being put under extreme physical and emotional pressure, his bloodline was awakened. Thankfully, I was able to stop him before he could go on a rampage."
’A rampage...?’ Kaiser thought to himself, a suspicion surfacing in his heart.
"You might have guessed already. Logan Fang’s bloodline is a Lycanthrope Bloodline."
