Eternal Freedom's Ascension-Chapter 80: Ysabella
"Kaiser... what took you so long~?"
A sweet voice welcomed him at his door, expression carrying the right amount of grievance.
"Ysabella..."
He called her name, a little surprised to meet her here. However, it wasn’t strange, as he felt like there were some things left unsaid when they met earlier.
Puckering her lips, she pressed her legs together. "Won’t you open the door? It’s cold out here."
Kaiser walked past her, then unlocked the door and walked in.
"Close the door behind you."
He turned on the lights, illuminating the simple layout of the room. There was barely any extra luggage in the room except his cooking utensils.
He dropped his schoolbag on the chair, then went to take a shower.
"Wait, you won’t even make me something to drink?"
From the bathroom, he asked casually. "And why would I?"
"It’s basic courtesy!" She huffed, then sat at the edge of his bed.
"Well, I don’t have to." He answered and proceeded with showering.
After spending about five minutes in the bathroom, he came out in only a pair of black trousers, his chest bare.
Drops of water clung to his skin while a towel hung around his neck.
Ysabella gulped instinctively, entranced. Her eyes traced his muscles, noting how they were perfectly sculpted. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
’Is this even achievable through training?’
She was hit by a wave of pheromones, making her shiver slightly. Suddenly, she realized they were the only ones in the room, and she was a lot weaker than Kaiser.
’W-what is he going to do?’
A flick on the forehead snapped her to reality. Eyes widened, she realized Kaiser had already put on a white round-neck top, cutting off any erotic thoughts.
Relieved and slightly displeased, she pouted. Before she could say a word, Kaiser spoke.
"Coffee or tea?"
Her expression changed, and a teasing smile appeared on her face.
"Eh? I thought you didn’t want to."
Kaiser calmly replied from the kitchen. "I don’t need to. I’m only doing this because I decided to. There might be no next time."
Ysabella fell silent at his answer. ’So he’s not doing it because it’s the norms, but because he wants to.’
Biting her lower lip, she answered. "Coffee, then."
In less than three minutes, Kaiser returned with two cups of coffee and handed one to her.
He opened his laptop, then sat at the table as if ready to work. Without turning to Ysabella, he said.
"You can start now, you’d look better."
The girl’s expression darkened, and she lowered her head. "That damned Hazel bitch! Bossing me around because I decided to be her friend?! She must be insane!"
"She made me tutor those three idiots while they habored lustful thoughts towards me! Imagine the audacity! As soon as I turn around, they’re already discussing the shape of my backside as if it’s some prize or trophy!"
"And that Kim hag too! She was actually crushing on Liam too! Pathetic! Now that Kiera’s got him, she’s crashing out on me, like I care at all! Argh!"
She stood up, grabbed her blonde hair violently like she would pull it.
"So much more! So much more! Some idiot guys from that Class-C also came to confess to me, unworthy bastards! They should get killed by Nirad Creatures or be cast into the Death Zone!"
She kept on rambling, shouting and cursing as she offloaded all the negative emotions in her heart.
At some point, she even kicked Kaiser’s bed. Thankfully, the wood was strong enough to withstand it.
After about ten minutes, she finished with a huff, panting and sweating. Kaiser didn’t say a word, his eyes fixated on the screen of his laptop as he researched some things about the Nirad Realm.
His silence unnerved Ysabella, and she was forced to speak. "I’m done."
Finally, Kaiser’s fingers paused on the keyboard, and he turned the chair to face her. Staring at the dark but relieved expression on her face, he gave a neutral smile.
"Now that’s better. You look radiant."
Ysabella glared at him, but didn’t have the energy to retort. Knowing full well how dangerous he could be, Ysabella wasn’t willing to get on his bad side.
"Well then, is that all? I’ve done my best for you, my ears are even ringing."
He kneaded his ear, feigning discomfort. Ysabella stared at him for a moment, then smiled sweetly.
"Thank you for your time, Kaiser. I might have to use you more in the future."
Kaiser sighed, then nodded perfunctorily. "I don’t mind. At least it’s better than seeing that fake expression all the time."
Ysabella’s expression faltered, but she quickly recovered. Straightening her skirt, she walked up to him and gave him a quick peck on his head.
Kaiser didn’t dodge, nor did he look impressed. Instead, he merely wiped his forehead and said casually.
"You’re actually the first person to not lose a limb after invading my private space without permission."
The girl was genuinely surprised. "You’ve amputated people before? Well, I guess that’s expected of you."
Kaiser shrugged. "I’m a bit unhinged regarding some matters."
He turned the chair to face the screen, then continued his research.
"Alright, Kaiser. I’m off. Goodnight."
She greeted him, then closed the door behind her.
Now that she was gone, Kaiser fully focused on what he was researching. His fingers typed swiftly, searching and clicking links on the internet.
Very soon, his eyes saw an information that caught his attention.
’A physique that heals the body quickly, almost demon-like in the advanced stages...’
’Associated with the element ice, and incredibly rare ability to copy the shape or attributes of other elements.’
’This physique...’
Kaiser’s eyes shrank, and a feeling of dejá vu enveloped him. It felt familiar, like something he had read in the clan library when he was younger. Back then, he was just a kid hungry for knowledge, and had spent half of the year in the library, reading and reading until he had touched every book he was allowed to touch.
Finally, he reclined into the chair, realization dawning upon him.
"I possess the FrozenGenesis Essence Physique."
