Chapter 366: Chaos Beasts

Liora did not know what took place in the Demon Weapon World after her departure, much less what would happen far into the future.

After awakening Alpha with the help of Snake of Time, she didn’t stay in that world for any longer.

Leaving behind a set of instructions and a few Warrior techniques she had created over the years, she arrived at the edge of the world and easily tore the world’s membrane apart.

Then, taking a step forward, she entered the Origin Sea and watched the membrane rapidly recover.

Glancing at the world behind her, some faint emotional fluctuations flashed in Liora’s eyes.

She had spent many years in this world. In fact, it could be said that she had spent most of her life in this place.

During this time, she had grown from a True Devil to a peak Greater Devil, with strength powerful enough to easily suppress her peers.

As memories flashed through her mind, Liora’s hands moved, and she arranged several formations around the world.

Some of them were designed to conceal the world’s existence, others to defend against possible intruders, while others simply altered the world’s environment, making it more suitable for the practice of Warriors.

"The seeds have been left behind. I can feel that the Warrior power system has great potential. At the very least, it’s stronger than the Demon Weapon one."

"Given enough time, establishing a realm equivalent to a Greater Devil is very possible."

"If there is a chance, I should return to this place in the future.", Liora whispered as she carefully kept the coordinates of the Demon Weapon World.

Having done this, she turned around and walked away.

Although Liora could return to the Demon World using the World-Descending Array just like she had done in the past, she didn’t rush to do so.

She planned to wander in the Origin Sea for a while.

With a move of her consciousness, a familiar silhouette appeared beside her.

It was Alpha.

Her expression was still one of confusion as she struggled to accept the fact that she had been slumbering for thousands of years.

Moreover, not only had she been comatose all this time, but when she finally woke up, she possessed the strength of a Greater Devil.

Even till now, she had doubts about whether she had fallen into an illusion and everything was simply a dream.

"Cough, cough...", Liora coughed to attract her attention.

"You don’t have to worry. It’s fine. Who hasn’t made the mistake of sleeping for a few thousand years?"

"There is no reason to act like this, considering your old age. You should act more maturely in the future."

Liora’s words of "comfort" did not lessen Alpha’s emotions at all. If anything, they turned her even more furious.

Especially when she heard the words "old age", she wanted to argue back.

Unfortunately, she had no way. After all, Liora’s words were undoubtedly true.

Although she had slept for most of the time, it was a fact that she was now thousands of years old.

To call her old was nothing but a fact.

Sensing Alpha’s embarrassment and looking at her angry expression, Liora chuckled.

She could see through Alpha’s thoughts and understood that she needed some time to accept everything.

There was nothing she could say or do to comfort her at the moment.

At most, she could help Alpha turn her attention elsewhere.

"Let’s go."

"Let’s have a look at this place. It’s quite embarrassing that two Greater Devils have barely been to the Origin Sea.", Liora gestured for Alpha to follow her as she took a step and left the Demon Weapon World behind her.

Alpha wanted to say something at first.

But staring at Liora’s back, which was gradually fading away at the edge of her vision, she could only swallow her words and hastily follow her.

--

The Origin Sea was extremely mysterious.

It was not only the birthplace of all worlds and the point that connected them all, but it was also a place that held countless other secrets.

At first sight, the Origin Sea looked like an endlessly stretching, dark void that was completely devoid of anything else besides the worlds themselves.

Yet, as Liora and Alpha made their way through it, they soon discovered that this was not really the case.

--

Liora stretched her hand and tightly clasped the opponent’s head.

Following a shrill scream, the opponent turned into ashes.

Their pitch-black body covered in inexplicable white patterns quickly crumbled, as if this being had been erased from existence.

Only a giant black heart remained floating in the dark void, pulsating eerily even after its owner’s death.

"Have we come across a Chaos Beast’s nest?"

"This is already the fourth one we’ve met so far. Aren’t such beings supposed to be rare?", Liora muttered as she placed the black heart onto the Space Orb.

Alpha behind her echoed her words.

She nodded solemnly, and thinking of the earlier events, she couldn’t help but remind Liora:

"Lord, we should be more careful from now on. Although the Chaos Beasts we have met so far are weak, there should be many powerful beings among them."

"These beings would most likely take action if they were to discover our existence."

"I know. Don’t worry.", Liora responded, knowing that Alpha’s worries were not without reason.

In fact, she knew way more than Alpha because of her bloodline memories.

World Devourers, as the name would suggest, were like fish in the water while in the Origin Sea.

Devils as a race were quite adapted to the environment of the Origin Sea.

But even among all the Devil bloodlines, World Devourers were among the best in terms of familiarity with this place.

As such, Liora had ample information regarding the Origin Sea. Chaos Beasts occupied a small part of it.

According to what other members of the World Devourer bloodline had recorded, Chaos Beasts were a type of creature native to the Origin Sea.

They were said to be born from the energy left behind by the destruction of higher-level worlds, and, just like World Devourers, liked to feast on World Origin. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Encountering such a creature was quite rare, and if one didn’t possess enough strength, meeting them would mean certain death.

Liora knew that Alpha’s earlier words were not alarming.

Even though the Chaos Beasts the two had met so far were only at the True Devil stage and were thus easily dealt with by them, there were powerful individuals among them.

At least, it was certain that there were Chaos Beasts with strength equal to Ancient Devils.

As for whether there were any stronger beings among their ranks, Liora did not know.

Countless thoughts raced through her mind in just a moment. However, though she kept Alpha’s reminder in mind, she did not choose to stop her journey.

After cleaning up the traces of the battle and erasing any possible clues that could be used to track her down, Liora nodded to Alpha and the two resumed their "walk".
