Chapter 45: Loot

Standing outside the Nest, Neil pondered his options.

Will he be able to kill the mythic creature inside without dying?

What if the analyzer does not work, won’t it all be such a waste?

"I wonder if another Caustic Gnat will appear."

He thought and gave a mental command for Magnar to come.

The familiar quickly arrived beside him, even though Magnar was lazy and slept most of the time.

But when it came to a fight, the familiar always gave its all, even putting Neil’s safety above its own.

"Magnar, we will be going to hunt another bug. Are you ready?" he patted the cute cub’s head.

PURR

Magnar purred, showing a cute fierce expression.

"Hoo, let’s do it." He quickly formed several sorts of slimes, he wasn’t sure if it was the poisonous bug or not, so he prepared for various scenarios.

After thinking, he decided to even bring in the elemental bow.

When the preparations were complete and more of his mana had regenerated, he pushed the door open and tried to peek inside.

But it was filled with heavy smoke that made him cough, so he could only step inside.

As the door closed behind him and the smoke began to clear up, messages popped before him.

[You have entered the Nest.]

[You can’t leave until you have killed the Caustic Gnat.]

[Time remaining: ∞]

"Well well, isn’t this just wonderful?" He couldn’t help but smile, it seemed luck was on his side.

Not only did he know the Gnat’s patterns, but compared to last time his strength had greatly increased.

"Magnar, be ready, this time we are going to kill this bug without dying!"

Neil said as his gaze focused on the Gnat in the distance.

Even the injuries were exactly the same.

Taking his stance, Neil pulled the string of the elemental bow, ready to make it explode again.

The only change was he was better prepared this time around.

***

[You have killed the 1st Origin Mythic Class Caustic Gnat.]

[Congratulations, you have successfully cleared the Nest.]

[Would you like to draw your loot?]

The entire battle lasted not more than an hour, but it was still quite fierce.

Neil received several injuries, his body looking bloodied, but still this was a wonderful victory.

"We did it!" Neil chuckled, picking up Magnar and putting his familiar over his shoulder.

Magnar’s injuries were lighter compared to Neil’s, and it was already asleep.

Neil limped slightly as he approached the battered corpse of the Gnat, this fight really made Neil feel that he had grown stronger.

"Collect loot." He commanded.

[Selecting the best loot based on the level difference...]

[You have acquired 2,000 Shards.]

[You have acquired one 1st Origin Mythic Class Gene Point.]

Neil collected the shards as the number instantly rose to 2,500, then he picked up the glass vial of the gene potion.

Without any hesitation, he drank it.

GULP

Instantly he felt a strange sensation, quite similar to the previous time as black veins bulged all over his body.

Fog began to rise from around his body, the changes seeming even more profound than before.

Neil’s vision blurred for a moment before becoming even better, he felt stronger, his body becoming hot.

...

Hoo

He inhaled a long breath. Finally, his mythic gene point core was filled.

(Mythic): 2/2

The jump in his strength was huge. Neil had surpassed even the diamond class now.

If he were to fight the Gnat now, even without Magnar’s help, Neil could kill it with barely any injuries.

Then he looked towards the ground and noticed a skill book lying there.

Still happy with his growth, Neil picked up the book and read its title.

[You have acquired a passive skill, Loot Stealth.]

[Would you like to learn the skill?]

He focused on its description.

[Loot Stealth]

[Description]: A skill that allows you to stealthily take away all the loot of the creatures you have killed.

[Note: To directly take the loot you must deliver the final blow. The location of loot could be set near you or any spatial storage.]

Reading the description, Neil couldn’t help but smile.

This was such a perfect skill, it really did select the best loot for him.

Now he wouldn’t have to care about carrying the corpses or others stealing his loot, he could even steal others’ loot.

"Haha, learn it." Neil couldn’t help but laugh, this came a bit late but late was better than never.

[Learning Loot Stealth...]

The book dissolved into tiny particles, disappearing as Neil felt new data suddenly rush into his mind.

Again, it felt like he had always known how to use that skill.

He looked at his status panel and the new skill had indeed appeared there.

Unfortunately, Neil couldn’t test it out right now.

He looked towards the ground and found a small bell lying there, these were the only rewards he had received this time.

Picking up the bell, he read its description.

[Ringing Bell]

[Description]: A bell that rings whenever any hostile entity approaches, alerting in advance you based on the level of danger.

"Nice, great loot again." Neil put the bell away into his spatial storage, then looked at the empty Nest.

"Hmm, now I no longer need any mythic class gene points, it would be great if I can create a diamond class next."

Neil mumbled to himself.

Unfortunately, he didn’t possess the blood of any gold creature for now, so he decided to leave it empty for the time being.

Sooner or later, he would certainly come to face at least one gold class beast or Phaged.

He walked out, his battle suit covered in black blood.

He found the two builders still perfecting the alarming system, but now there was no need for it.

"Rob, Bob, come here." He called out, as the two builders looked at him in surprise.

But without asking any questions, they asked:

"Yes lord, do you have any tasks for us? Should we call Princess Ileana outside?"

"No, I just got this bell. So our problem of the alarming system is solved, hang it inside the door." He said, handing the bell to Bob.

"Oh, this is a wonderful thing, haha, this really solved our trouble."

Bob laughed happily and hurriedly approached the wooden wall.

Then he hung the bell on the inner side of the wall just beside the door.

Neil nodded in satisfaction, then he looked down at himself, he really needed a bath.

But first, he decided to go to the healing hut to get his injuries healed.

Yet as if sensing something, Ileana walked out of the hut and her gaze landed on Neil instantly.

"Lord, why didn’t you call me? Such serious injuries..."

Her face turned a bit pale as if she herself was feeling the pain.

She hurried towards him and pointed her arms as her body glowed slightly, and instantly Neil felt warmth envelop him.

His injuries began to heal rapidly. It wasn’t as serious as before, so he was completely healed within a few minutes.

But Ileana seemed a little tired after that, beads of sweat glistening over her beautiful face.

"Thank you, Ileana." Neil said with a smile, her big bosom heaving up and down with each heavy breath.

It was really hard to keep looking at her, her body was just too curvy and voluptuous.
