Chapter 64: Terrifying Speed

Akri was just stumbling back.

But Neil gave him no time, it was always better to catch the opponent off guard and keep spamming until they made a mistake.

CLANG

WHOOSH

Akri tried his best to reflect the barrage of blades with his knuckle dusters, but more and more cuts began to appear over his body.

’Damnit, he is not giving me a chance to stabilize!!’ Akri jumped back, trying to activate his skill, only to get stabbed in his thigh by both blades.

Neil held the blades upside down and lunged forward, plunging them into his flesh before pulling hard, leaving his right leg unusable.

’Looks like in terms of pure physical stats I am actually higher than him! So the mythic class could beat classless of the next origin, not bad.’

Neil thought, attacking Akri relentlessly, not giving him even a moment to breathe.

Well there are more things to consider when it comes to strength. Neil’s limit is Mythic class while Akri’s was just Gold, so once they both evolved and reached the 2nd Origin, of course Neil’s strength would be higher.

Though he would need more resources to evolve.

It is all balanced in a sense, but as Neil progressed, the difference between him and others was only going to get bigger.

’I wonder if there would come a day when being classless at 4th Origin I can fight people of 5th Origin.’ He wondered, it sure seemed exciting but the gap was far too big.

Pushing the useless thoughts away, he slashed his right hand and cut off one of Akri’s arms.

The battle looked completely one sided all because of one mistake from Akri.

’Even so, h- how can he be so strong? He has not even evolved yet, what sort of monster is he?’ Akri used a skill to strengthen his body, barely managing to last even this long.

He would be shocked by knowing how much Neil had held back.

CLANG CLANG

The brass knuckles were being cut as each strike landed heavily, pushing Akri back.

And before long, his second arm was cut off as well.

There were several stabbing wounds in his chest and belly, he fell to his knees with no battle prowess left, bleeding profusely.

Neil walked forward calmly, patting his thigh, he pushed the blade into Akri’s heart slowly and spoke: "Don’t take the loss to your heart."

The entire coliseum was silent for a few moments, then they all burst out in loud cheers.

This was completely different from everyone’s expectations.

None of them could understand the extent of his strength, how could he have grown so fast?

The battle had lasted not more than two to three minutes.

[The Battle Begins!]

Neil didn’t wait as his fight with the second opponent began.

Since he wanted to test his strength properly, he gave his opponent some time to attack as well.

But the result was still the same, without a single scratch, he overpowered his opponents just by his physical stats.

"H- Hey have you noticed, he hasn’t used any skills yet, he is still holding back?!"

"Maybe his skill is related to his ability, but he hadn’t activated anything..." everyone was at a loss.

There was no way someone this strong wouldn’t possess any skill.

The battles continued, Neil defeated three more opponents in the next ten minutes.

’This much is fine, I already know the difference now. It’s time to speed it up.’ He thought, right as the fifth battle ended.

He didn’t want to waste time on the classless lords, better to move to the next zone.

Another lord appeared, holding a shield and sword.

"Oh I know him, he is one of those sadistic bastards who likes to fight the weaker lords while filling all his other cores. His strength is even slightly above the bronze class."

"Right, isn’t that Scar, the one who loves trolling the weak? Oh no, Dead Man is stuck with the wrong opponent!"

This guy with big scars stretching all over his face just loved putting others through immense pain.

With law and punishments he couldn’t do it in the real world but there was no one to stop him here.

But that’s impossible with strong opponents, so he always didn’t fill his bronze core.

"Hahaha A newbie? Damn, after my 99 victories this was going to be my final match in this zone, I never expected to get such a good opponent."

He laughed, pulling out weapons that wouldn’t kill but inflict great pain.

"Scar? You have quite the reputation it seems, but do you also enjoy the pain?" Neil asked, calming his stance.

"Good, you are pretty confident. Put up a good fight, I don’t like the ones who start crying too easily." Scar chuckled, licking a rusted blade.

’I wonder which race this scum belongs to.’ Neil thought, he was sure once this guy got bored from the arena, he might start killing people for fun in reality.

’Well time to turn his hobby into his nightmare.’ Neil thought, he leaned forward, ready to charge.

While Scar grabbed several weapons, his style of fighting was rather strange.

[Agility Lock Activated!]

Strange and ancient tattoos suddenly appeared over his legs, glowing magically.

Of course, none others could see that.

Neil was ready to test out the mythic class imprint, it sounded quite impressive, time to see if it really is.

"Dead Man, you can do it!! Kill that bastard, gouge his eyes out and make him eat!!" a bald guy kept shouting even as everyone turned silent in nervousness.

[The Battle Begins...]

Right then...

[Agility Lock Target selected!]

Scar who was laughing manically and was about to rush forward, felt a wave of weakness hit him.

Nothing else was affected but his agility suddenly reduced, even his thinking speed and reaction speed.

On the other hand, Neil’s speed exploded, his figure shooting forward with a sonic boom.

The floor had faint cracks where his feet were present, his figure disappeared.

Not only did he get twice the agility boost but also stole half of Scar’s speed, reaching a terrifying level.

It was so fast that even Neil himself had not anticipated, he moved too quickly to control himself and almost smashed into the opposite wall.

’Dang this is too terrifying!’ Neil thought, barely stopping himself mere inches away from the wall, his feet skidding across the floor.

"W- What happened?" most were confused. Scar remained standing while Neil suddenly flashed far away.

"That speed! Is he really at the 1st Origin?!" everyone had the same question, the top lords were just as flabbergasted.

...

The most shocked was of course Scar, he couldn’t even see Neil just now.

’What the fuck?! What’s going on? Why am I feeling sluggish, what ability did he use?’ Scar turned around rapidly, his mind a mess.

Calming his nerves, he pointed both hands towards Neil, activating his skill which could make a person lose all his senses.

WHOOSH

Neil moved even faster this time, he was already getting the hang of it.

He slashed with the blades upwards, his figure passing by Scar like a shadow.

THUD THUD

With a gush of blood, his arms fell to the floor, cut cleanly from the elbows.

"So Scar are you ready?" Neil smiled under the faceless mask, walking menacingly towards his opponent.

"I- I admit defe-Urkkhhh COUGH" but suddenly, Neil picked up the rusted knife and plunged it into Scar’s mouth.

Since he wanted to torture Neil, it was only natural to return the favour.

And Neil could use this time to relax a bit.

Under thousands of gazes, Neil picked Scar’s weapons from the floor one by one and used them on him.

Two small umbrellas were stuck in his eyeballs, a strange blade stuck in his chest that kept twisting his internal organs.

’This guy sure knows his stuff.’ Neil thought, he didn’t even know how to use many of these weapons.

But with nemo, he made Scar go through extreme pain.

The whole Colosseum was silent and only the screams of Scar and cheers of the bald guy could be heard.

After some time, when Neil felt completely refreshed he finally ended Scar’s life.

[You have obtained 60 points.]

Messages flashed before his eyes, as Scar’s body disappeared, the imprint was more impressive than his expectations.

’Using this and Sonic together will catch the opponents off guard, making the kill easy.’

Neil thought, without caring about others’ shock he continued with the battles.
