Chapter 80: Bogus

"Hmm, well my domain can move, but I am not sure if it can pull it all. Not to mention, we don’t even know which place is safe." Neil replied.

"You just need to pull my domain, anyway I guess we will have to observe the situation a bit longer." Hiroshima shrugged. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Kid, you have been going to the clash realm a lot, did you find a new girl or something?" Zeke looked at the silent Henry and questioned to change the mood.

"Sigh, no. Who would want to date a lost cause like me? And I would probably just die here..." Henry said in a depressed tone, before cheering up and adding:

"Anyway, I have been going to the newbie clash battles. It has become really interesting lately." Henry said.

His long black hair had gotten messy and his face was full of tears and snot.

"Oh, you are participating in it too?" Neil asked, drinking the wine, but it had no effect on him.

Henry shook his head and added: "No, no, I am going there to watch the matches. You are participating? Haven’t you heard about him, the Blood Walker?"

Neil raised an eyebrow, wondering if that title belonged to himself.

"Who exactly is this Blood Walker?" he asked.

"Haa, you really don’t know? You have missed all his battles? Too bad. Anyway, his lord title is Dead Man Walking, I have seen his solo and domain battles, he is so strong..." Henry replied.

’Sigh, so it really is me. I sure am getting all sorts of titles.’ Shaking his head, he didn’t comment.

He didn’t really care about it, whether they knew it was him or not.

But Henry kept talking about his idol, sharing whatever he knew.

"He only once used his skill and defeated that werewolf Teddy, who was almost at the Gold class. Blood Walker isn’t at the top of the Global Lord Ranking for nothing." He added.

"Global Lord Rankings..." Neil mumbled. He had completely forgotten about it, and hadn’t even checked it.

’I am at the top? What even is the parameter behind this ranking?’ he wondered and ordered Nemo to open the ranking.

[Global Lord Rankings]:

1. Dead Man Walking

2. Jane Yates

3. Vish

4. Adolf

...

But as soon as he opened the rankings, more than seeing his own name, what surprised him was Jane’s name.

’Jane Yates? It is her... right? Why is she...? Why is she using my surname?’ Neil frowned, countless questions instantly surfacing in his mind.

Was she feeling guilty? Or did the news of his high synergy make Jane change her mind?

But for the outside world, he was already dead. Did she set it up thinking he was still alive and she could make it up?

Or was there more to the whole situation from the beginning?

Now that he was calmer, unlike the time when Jane had broken up with him, he could think of various reasons.

At that time, his mind was already messed up after the news of his synergy.

And her words struck like a hammer against his brain, he forgot to reason.

’Whatever it might be, it will have to wait, and I already have Eli now.’ Neil thought, his mind kind of messed up after seeing her name.

After chatting for a bit longer, he decided to go back to his domain.

Burying his hands into his pockets, Neil stared at the snowy ground while walking.

"Lord!" As he arrived close to his domain, Neil heard Leon’s voice.

He quickly snapped back to his senses and hurried over, stopping before his legion’s commander.

"What’s wron- oh!" Neil was surprised to see the corpse of a creature from the Phantom Planet.

It looked like a large beetle with red dot-like patterns over its body, and its size was twice that of a football.

He quickly opened its status.

[Name]: Bogu

[Rank]: 1st Origin Silver Class

[Description]: A creature from the phantom world, the first sign of catastrophe, for whom stopping means death.

Neil read the description but couldn’t really find anything, though it gave him a sense of crisis.

"Nemo," he called out.

"Yes, master. I already found some information about it. This Bogu named creature keeps running for the entirety of its life, and when they stop, their hearts stop beating, so yes, stopping is death for them." Nemo said, then added in a serious tone: "Anyway, the important thing is, they are always seen in places where disasters are about to strike, usually they move in large groups and in fact possess no fighting prowess."

Neil read the description, and now it made more sense. They bring catastrophe, but are themselves pretty weak.

He was already feeling quite restless, and now this truly put great pressure on him.

Although his legion is powerful, it can’t face the horrors of this realm, they are too terrifying.

"Bury it in the snow away from here. Also increase the security, looks like we will have to move into the settlement." Neil ordered, as he moved into the domain.

Something big was definitely about to happen.

"We should move the whole settlement to somewhere close to a link, so even if something happens, I can use Analyzer and be revived." Neil mumbled.

He felt he might not even be able to sleep tonight.

Just as he saw Ileana, he froze and focused on his hearing.

RUMBLE

A very faint and distant rumble could be heard, as if countless creatures were running rapidly.

Frowning, he focused and confirmed that the rumbling sound was coming from the hot side.

’Is it the Bogus?’ He walked out of the domain and tried to see, but with the heavy blizzard and the fog, he couldn’t see far.

"Leon, stay careful." He muttered and quickly ran toward the centre line.

The temperature rose as he got close to the hot side, the snowfall and fog also decreasing.

"The weather here is so strange, this whole place looks broken." Neil shook his head and stopped before the hot line.

He saw hundreds of Bogus running madly over the lava. Even if their feet burned, they just kept running.

"There are so many!"

And all of them did nothing but run constantly, just run and run more.

"Is there a link nearby? Do I have to go to the hot side after all?" Neil pondered, not sure if he could handle the heat.

Not to mention, there were those annoying poisonous centipedes, which could stay hidden underground.

And attack the moment he loses focus or is weak.

The centipede he faced before was weak, thankfully.

"But what would happen if I were to stop them all?"

The group of Bogus was really big, there were around five hundred of them or maybe even more.

They were just running in a straight direction heading toward the large iron bars, probably running parallel to the centre line.

[Aquamorph activated!]

To check his thoughts, Neil instantly got to work, he really wanted to try this out.

Instantly, a big rope of thick, highly viscous fluid with an extremely high boiling point was formed, swirling around him.

Neil stepped closer, then shot the rope forward, making it float just inches above the ground, pouring his essence to keep it firmly in the air.

He put it on the path of the Bogus, the place they would be passing very soon.

The unsuspecting Bogus were running madly, they didn’t notice or didn’t care about the rope.
