Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill-Chapter 88: The Travel
The elemental bow was at the Mythic Rank, matched with the phantom’s power, the force became deadly.
After breaking through the carapace, the shockwaves shook its insides, the dangerous toxins merging with its body.
THUMP
The heavy body of the scorpion landed heavily, crushing many smaller ones and struggling as pain shot through it.
Neil swayed a bit as weakness hit him, a deep wound still on his leg and poison in his body.
But he was in the phantom form, his wounds began to heal rapidly.
While the poison didn’t affect him as much, even the recovery of stamina and energy was very fast.
Despite the powerful attack, no message about the Diamond Class creature popped before him, though it was gravely injured.
Its internal organs were already a mess and its body lay upside down, dozens of meters away.
’You piece of shit, that’s the payback for killing a troop of mine!’ Neil thought as he ran back towards his domain.
Shooting arrows at all the scorpions trying to get close.
There were too many, some had already started to attack the walls; if not for the builders, then it might have already broken.
Cursing, Neil shot many down and used Sonic to make them freeze or kill them outright.
The domain had successfully passed the encirclement of the scorpions, but now a lot of them were running after them.
After removing the scorpions from the shield, Neil jumped back as his body transformed back.
"Continue shooting at them, target their eyes!" Leon was still commanding the elven armies.
Slowly they shook off the scorpions, finally surviving another disaster with one casualty.
It felt awful but he would have to replace his troops, he needed all the power he could get to keep everyone safe.
But he carved their names on the wall of his house.
Jet and Rith
One cloud vulture and one giant.
He knew there might be more casualties in the future but he didn’t want to get used to it, after the two deaths the mood in the domain was a bit heavy.
They continued to move amidst the heavy storm, for a while meeting no beasts.
Thankfully, in that time, Magnar had finally evolved and reached the 2nd Origin Diamond Class.
The familiar, just as small as before and cute, ran out quickly.
His body looked redder and the pattern seemed different, aside from that he appeared nearly the same.
PURRR
Neil picked him up and caressed his head, just now after becoming a phantom, something became clear in his mind.
"I too forgot it, but why did no one here evolve their domain to the 3rd Order? There are so many lords here and I am sure some would willingly give up their domains for food or other things." He mumbled, walking closer to the campfire.
Ileana and the others joined him, she felt terrible at not being of much help to him.
Fay and Ray too felt useless.
"Sigh, it’s too late to think of this now, but there must have been a few Diamond Class domains, if I got the domain cores, wouldn’t I have been able to evolve my domain?"
The number of Diamond Class domains was not too high but there were still a few, maybe there were some here.
The people had been locked in the Carceral Citadel for many years now.
"If I die, to which point will I return? Will Analyzer even work? What if I do it after transforming into a phantom?" lots of questions poured into his mind.
But he didn’t want to take such a big risk, what if dying really meant dying.
"But I can try if there is a link around..."
The other lords his age must be running away from the dangerous links while he was searching for one.
They continued to move, avoiding many dangers thanks to the ringing bell and Magnar’s sharp senses.
Fighting against some creatures, they continued without any further casualties for nearly a day.
The weather was getting worse but much to Neil’s surprise, the mountain like silhouette that had remained hidden all this time was actually closer than he expected.
Even the bars that seemed to stretch endlessly didn’t seem too far away, or maybe it was just an illusion.
Without stopping, they continued to move forward at full speed.
With Magnar present, most troubles were resolved easily.
"Lord, lately the number of Frost Bears we are facing is increasing and the cold, it’s getting too chilly." Leon reported, sighing loudly.
Thankfully they still had food and the domain could keep moving or they could just wait to die in the extreme cold.
"We can’t stop, for the entire day that ringing bell hasn’t stopped ringing. I wonder if something is chasing us or is waiting at the exact place we are running off to." Neil stood near the door.
His armor covered in snow, having just returned from the outside.
’And teacher isn’t responding either, sigh should I try fighting a Mythic Class creature with Magnar, if my strength could increase then...’
Neil wasn’t sure if his Analyzer would work even with Phantom form or not.
He discussed it with Nemo, his highly intelligent assistant and even she found reasons to both believe and not believe that it could work.
After using phantom form, the global chat was still glitching for him, increasing his vigilance.
So, for now he refrained from trying anything.
Just while he was talking, a message flashed before him.
[You have killed the 2nd Order Ten Tailed Scorpion!]
"Oh it’s finally dead!" Neil exclaimed, quickly collecting the shards and taking out the gene potion.
Looking at the potions, he pondered for a moment.
If he drank it, his strength would increase certainly but for now Magnar was his strongest fighter right now.
And Magnar’s strength would increase even more, so he gave the gene point to his familiar.
"Will there really be a way out near those bars?" Ileana leaned onto Neil’s shoulder and asked.
"... I don’t know honestly, who knows if there is even an exit. This is the prison which is used to keep something locked here." Neil replied with a sigh.
"Mmm everything will be fine, hubby, we will get through this together." She gently rubbed his arm, pressing her softness against him.
"Oh, that’s the Citadel, it’s really a citadel, it seems clearer now!" Ileana suddenly spoke but suddenly she screamed, her body trembling.
Neil was startled, his gaze first moved to the distant blurry figure which still was not clear among the fog.
While his body moved forward to catch Ileana, he pulled her into his arms, feeling her shivering form.
"What’s wrong? Did you see something?" he asked, holding her tightly and caressing her back comfortingly.
"T- There... I saw someone, h- he was injured... haa very badly injured and getting dragged away by a long... vine?" Ileana spoke, her voice trembling.
Neil turned to look but there was nothing on his right, not even traces over the snow.
Was it because of all the stress she was seeing things? Or was it this place’s doing?
He didn’t know, but just comforted her.
Ileana wouldn’t be so startled if she had just seen that, but she felt that figure resembled Neil a bit, that’s what scared her so much.
"Lord, there are a bunch of Frost Bears ahead, we will have to slow down." Leon reported.
And finally, the nightmare started...
