Extra And MC-Chapter 109 - 105 - Misunderstandings
(Around 8 years ago…)
The lavish and opulent ball room was filled to the brim with almost every young noble in Arcadia whom were all dressed in resplendent gowns and finely tailored suits.
Most of them were so excited to finally meet youths of their age and judging by the gleeful and excited looks on their faces, they were all so glad to be at this year’s annual royal banquet, especially since they all had an entire hall to themselves.
"Flynn! Flynn! Let’s go dance!" a young and bubbly Amelia called out to an eight-year old Flynn whom was completely crowded by several young noble ladies from all sides.
"I apologize for cutting our conversations short but I really do have to leave now" Flynn politely said to the multitude of noble ladies crowding him whilst also giving a gentlemanly bow.
After the doing that, the young boy then moved towards Amelia as the rest of the noble ladies parted the way for him while speaking in hushed tones.
"It’s always Amelia isn’t it?" one young girl said, jealousy evident on her face.

"Yeah! No fair! She should let him dance with some of us too sometimes" another lady added, her voice lowered and a pout on her face.
"Oh what I’d give to be very close to Flynn or Aiden Belmont…" another young lady remarked with a forlorn sigh.
"But alas, Flynn is already bound to be wedded to Amelia. That only leaves Aiden…" a young girl picked up on the latter’s comment while fanning herself with poise and grace.
Following that, a lot of the young ladies’ attention in the opulent hall shifted to Aiden who after giving a polite and beaming smile to Caroline, proceeded to find a chair to sit down while rejecting every single dance offer that came his way.
From the corner of Flynn’s eyes as he waltzed to a melodic tune with Amelia, he spotted Adrian and Beatrice who were also surrounded by several other young nobles, all of whom seemed to be having a fun conversation with the youths surrounding them.
His eyes then darted over to Caroline’s, who gave him a curt and polite nod despite being surrounded by multiple male youths of her own, her face still holding a bit of an innocent smile.
For some reason or the other though, Flynn felt that she wasn’t comfortable with the multiple young boys surrounding her but considering he couldn’t do anything from afar, he wondered if he could signal to his brother that she needed help.
While moving his gaze over back to Aiden’s, his eyes met with Bryan’s instead who just casually raised the small glass of fruit punch, akin to a toast, to greet Flynn from afar.
With a slight nod, Flynn responded to Bryan’s gesture and then refocused his attention back on Amelia who was beaming happily as he twirled her.
Watching her complete her twirl with a warm smile, Flynn then refocused his attention back again on trying to reach Aiden with a slight gesture and soon enough, his eyes, instead of landing on Aiden’s once again, landed on Lucas who was glaring at him fiercely… again!
’What did I ever do to that guy?’ Flynn asked himself, a subtle yet genuinely confused expression on his face.
"Flynn?" Amelia called out to Flynn after noticing the subtle changes in his warm expression.
"What’s wrong? Are you alright?" she asked again, her expression a bit worried.
"Nothing Amelia. It’s fine…" Flynn replied as his face reverted to that of a gentle smile.
"Are you sure?" she gently asked, her slightly worried brown eyes holding his own green-aquamarine eyes.
"Yeah" Flynn replied once again, reassuring the lady that he was indeed alright.
Aiden on the other hand who was watching the entire exchange that happened between his brother and Lucas, slightly tilted his head in confusion.
’I doubt Flynn ever did anything to that guy so what’s up with him?’ Aiden asked himself as Ben Steelblade walked past the front of his table with two glasses of fruit punches.
"Hmmm…" Aiden mused as he kept watching Lucas glaring at Flynn.
"Is he perhaps jealous of Flynn being with Amelia?" the youth muttered but soon enough, a slight commotion happened as Ben spilled the fruit punch he was holding in his hands, ’mistakenly’ on Lucas’s well-tailored and pristine white suit.
Immediately this happened, the youth profusely began to beg Lucas while getting down on his knees, a few internal monologues in his head, completely unknown to everyone in the hall.
’Why did my Dad order me to do this again?! I really have no freaking idea!’ Ben inwardly screamed as he kowtowed on the floor, instantly making everyone wonder if Lucas had said something quite threatening to the youth.
Most young nobles already knew that Lucas was quite arrogant and pompous to say the least, but, never would they have expected him to even threaten someone, especially judging from the way Ben was begging him.
Lucas on the other hand just watched on in utter bewilderment and deep confusion, completely unable to understand all that had just transpired in a literal matter of seconds.
All eyes were now on him and Ben Steelblade in the banquet hall and judging from the way most of the people in the hall kept looking at him, it was obvious to the blonde-haired boy that they had felt like he had threatened the youth that was profusely begging him.
"I always knew he had a bad temperament but seriously…" one male youth whispered aloud, enough for most people to hear in the currently quiet hall.
"Threatening someone just because they spilled a drink on his outfit. What a jerk!" a noble female’s words landed into Lucas’s ears.
"Well that’s what he deserves for always been so arrogant and pompous! Well-deserved I say!" another boy added, his tone disdainful.
As Lucas watched the entire hall continuously begin to give him looks of disdain and contempt, suddenly making him out to be the villain before he could even explain himself, he was at a loss of what to do.
His mother had always told him to be nice and cheerful to people but it had never really stuck with him. It just wasn’t in his nature to be oh-so-friendly to everyone even if others could easily do it.
But now, just a month after he had lost his mother, the only one who seemingly understood the kind of person he really was, he was suddenly made into a villain for something he never even did at the first banquet he had attended since the last month.
He already felt like he was struggling enough by having to deal with coping with his mother’s death and now, this unexpectedly happened when he wasn’t particularly in a good state of mind.
In addition to that, even the girl he liked a lot, Amelia White, also had quite the disappointed look on her face as she stared at him along with the rest of the other nobles.
’Even you!’ Lucas inwardly commented, a painful and hurt emotion burrowing deep into his heart.
As the blondie kept gazing at Amelia, his expression contorting into a pained look, he watched as Flynn from behind Amelia, gave him the most disdainful and contemptible look of all, almost as if he was looking at a piece of shit on a sidewalk.
Lucas was unable to believe that Flynn Belmont, someone almost everyone referred to as the humblest, most polite and kind-hearted young noble of all, would ever give him such a despicable gaze.
It was as if Flynn detested him from the bottom of his soul with the way he kept gazing at him.
Although Lucas knew that him glaring at Flynn at multiple intervals just because he was jealous of he and Amelia’s relationship was a child-like and petty thing to do, he couldn’t really help it when the girl he so much liked, had a very big crush on the silvery-green haired boy.
That singular moment between him and Flynn though, had been the moment Lucas had decided from the bottom of his heart that he would pay Flynn back in double, no matter what he needed to do or how he needed to achieve it.
Yes, Lucas Elfire in that moment had decided to get his revenge, because even if everybody else didn’t see the way Flynn gazed at him, he who had been the sole target of that contemptible gaze, wouldn’t let it slide.
Coming to that decision, Lucas stormed out of the hall, Ben Steelblade running after him as he left while still profusely apologizing.
"I swear I’ll make you pay Flynn Belmont!" he muttered to himself in anger as he kept storming off.
As the young nobles in the hall watched all of this play out, they soon resumed back to their jovial chatter and mood after Lucas had left, completely pretending as if the entire thing had never happened.
Unknown to Lucas however, at some point when Ben Steelblade was profusely begging, he had gotten up from the ground to face Lucas as he kept on apologizing for the drink he spilled on him.
Flynn who by chance had spotted Ben Steelblade ’mistakenly’ spill his drinks on Lucas, had his gaze darken as he watched Ben Steelblade slowly making everyone in the hall to believe that Lucas was the villain and he was the victim.
Despite being an eight-year old, Flynn had ultimately come to the conclusion that the only reason that a ’mistake’ could have happened was because someone else, probably an adult, and most probably Ben’s father, whom everyone pretty much already knew was someone who liked to make connections with higher families, had definitely instigated it.
With those thoughts in his head, Flynn’s expression had twisted into one of utter contempt and disdain as he gazed at Ben Steelblade, and not Lucas Elfire, completely disappointed that a father would use his son to do something like that.
"Flynn?" Amelia called to him while watching his darkened expression.
"You have that really scary look you occasionally have every once in a while…" she continued.
"Did someone do something really bad again?" she asked with concern,
Flynn in response to that, had his expression, slowly morph into that of pity as he watched the long corridors that Lucas had already stormed off through while letting out a few words.
"Yeah…" he began.
"But that aside, I just really feel bad for Lucas…" Flynn concluded, a few internal thoughts running through his head.
’After all, he’s only a victim of someone’s machinations…’
