Extra And MC-Chapter 130 - 126 - Turning Gears
"Let’s compile the major information we now know" Flynn said to his brother while sitting across him from the small, round, patio table.
"Yeah. We should" Aiden replied with an affirmative nod, his hands pouring the contents of a bottle of non-alcoholic wine into two glass cups.
Having returned from Sigrun’s bookstore, both brothers had met up with their partners and friends once again and had tried their best to enjoy the festivities with them the best they could.
But that was easier said than done because at the end of the day, there was so much pivotal information that was revealed to them in just a matter of minutes.
It was only natural that their minds were occupied with that instead of actually blending in and having fun with the others.
But at the very least, they had been sure that since they had only been gone for a very short while, it wouldn’t have aroused any suspicions from either their partners or friends.
Well at least that’s what they thought…
Right now though, they were both sitting at the veranda of their hotel which directly faced the beach, each in their loungewear.
Ten o’clock which had been their curfew had passed by a few minutes ago and most cadets, their friends and partners included, had all gone to hit the sack immediately they got back from the festival.
The stress of both travelling and having fun without any major breaks in between had finally caught up to all of them, despite lights-out actually been 11:00PM.
This obviously, did not apply to Aiden and Flynn due to actually not being tired, probably as a result of the effects of Sigrun’s mindscape which had erased all the previous fatigue along with the one she had inflicted after battling with them.
-Fwaaash…
Hearing the sound of the cascading cerulean waves crashing against the golden sand of the beach at night, along with the gentle breeze that blew, brought about a sense of unparalleled tranquility to the youths that only mother nature could provide.
Gently pushing over one of the wine-filled cup to his brother with his free hand, Aiden took a sip out of his and relaxed into the comfort of his white patio chair.
A minute of silence was then exchanged between both brothers as Flynn also gently twirled the wine in his own glass cup before finally downing all the contents in one go.
Finally breaking the silence, Flynn spoke up while fiddling with the edges of the empty cup, a pensive expression on his face.
"Starting off, Ear-… I mean Arcanora has lived through more than a few hundred iterations"
"And despite the many iterations, it still ends up getting destroyed" he calmly added.
"Yeah, and only our Dean has been able to prevent complete annihilation after all this time with his authority" Aiden responded while also leaning off of his chair.
"And although it hasn’t been explained just yet, I have a very strong feeling Amael is also involved in it too" Flynn chipped in.
"Alright" Aiden nodded in agreement before then stating a point of his own.
"Other races asides humans really exist, though most of them and their home-planets have been destroyed, the only exceptions being the Valkyries and the rest of the other few races who were brainwashed"
"And there’s a possibility that we may encounter them in the future while delving into a fissure…" Flynn followed up with a solid reasoning.
"Let’s hope we’re strong enough to hold them off by then if it ever does come to that" Aiden remarked and Flynn gave a slight nod.
Following that, Aiden spoke again.
"There’s a very high possibility we’ve already met another Valkyrie without even realizing that that’s the case"
"But since they seem to hide in plain sight, we probably won’t ever know whom it was…" Flynn mused out loud.
-Sigh…
A small sigh escaped Aiden’s lips as he reclined back into his chair while Flynn just ran his hands through his hair with a slightly perturbed expression.
"At the end of the day though, we’ll eventually found out who it is. That I’m sure of"
Aiden without having to ask Flynn, knew what exactly his brother meant.
If truly, they made contact with said being a few months back, then it was inevitable that at some point, they’d meet her again one way or the other.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Flynn soon spoke up again with a deep frown this time.
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
"There’s a very high possibility that we’ve already existed in this world previously, way before we somehow lived on earth. And that’s genuinely really mind-boggling"
This was the question Flynn had wanted to ask Sigrun before her mindscape decided to switch places.
"Xavier’s note already hinted at it but now, after meeting Sigrun, and hearing her say we both reminded her of some people which I’m sure existed at least, possibly, quite a few thousand years ago…" he trailed off.
"…It’s become very obvious that it might really be the case" Aiden finished up Flynn’s sentence with a similarly deep frown on his own features.
"And finally, we aren’t the first oddity in this world. Reincarnation, transmigration, rebirth, whatever. There have been others before us and they failed, despite the many iterations…" Flynn rubbed his temples with a disturbed expression.
"However, out of all those, we seem to have been the most successful so far" Aiden replied to his brother while pouring another round of wine into their empty cups.
-Fwoosh…
Another wave of pensive silence was shared between the youths as the night’s breeze blew by, washing over both of them coolly.
"One thing has now become very obvious though" Aiden was the first to speak this time, adding a few words immediately after.
"The novel’s plotline, the one we both know, is probably as a result of one particular iteration"
"Yeah. That would explain the many discrepancies we’ve been stumbling upon since we got the memories of our past life back" Flynn nodded in response to his brother’s sound reasoning.
Flynn himself had the exact same thoughts so Aiden’s statement wasn’t far-fetched at all.
"But if that’s the case, then the fact that a lot of major things have stayed the same, means that some events are always bound to happen…" Flynn soon added after a short while interlocking his fingers.
"Like fixed points in time, I doubt those events will ever change. The manner in which it might come in may be vastly different from what we know, but it will definitely happen. Always" Flynn calmly declared while resting his elbows on the patio table and his chin on his interlocked hands.
Aiden contemplated over his brother’s words for a few seconds.
Thinking about it, asides from the Royal Banquet Massacre which strictly followed the novel’s events, Novier’s quest, the fissure underneath the lake, the invading spies from The Monolith - all of it were major events in the novel which although didn’t happen at the exact timings and in the exact formats, still very much existed and happened regardless.
Upon realizing that Flynn’s reasoning was totally spot on, Aiden soon responded with a resolute expression.
"Then if that’s really the case, then we know what we need to do!"
"Exactly. Just like Sigrun mentioned, we should just keep doing as we’ve been doing" Flynn dis-interlocked his hands and took the wine-filled glass cup while adding.
"We might not always be able to save everyone but at the very least, we sure as hell will try. We’ll also keep thwarting any major, or minor event we know will ultimately lead to a mass number of deaths too" he concluded, immediately downing all the contents of the cup again in one go.
With a resolute nod, Aiden also took his own cup and downed the wine present in it in a single gulp.
Having done that, only one singular thought was present in both brother’s heads as they placed the empty cups back on the white patio table, their thoughts focused on the next major event.
’Time to find a way to destroy that darn railgun!’

(In an underground bunker of sorts…)
Walking through the modernly designed large and expansively wide rooms, were multiple individuals going about their duties like worker bees, each focused on their respective important tasks.
Each giant room in the bunker had walls that were painted in metallic all-white and were also illuminated with softly-glowing white lights from the ceilings, the occasional spotting of the large logo of a giant and dark eerie-looking structure of a building present on some of the walls.
Interconnected by long and windy passages to make it hard for intruders to easily infiltrate one of their many bases, The Monolith spared no effort to lace every single part of the passageways with traps and state-of-the-art defenses that would even put some of The Tower’s tech to shame.
Only people who had stayed in the bunker for years on end would know the exact places to step and not to step on, or touch and not to touch.
As the soft hums and chatters filled the multiple rooms and corridors, the figure of two men could be seen walking side-by-side while conversing, both of them wearing white lab coats as opposed to how most of the others were dressed in normal wears.
One was clearly reaching his late fifties, judging by the wrinkles and aged features on his face while the other seemed to be in his thirties, with a fairly average looking face.
"Just adding some finishi- I wouldn’t put my foot there if I were you Magnus" the older of the two suddenly stopped mid-speech and said to the younger without even looking in the direction he was warning the latter about.
"Seriously. Just how much booby-traps do you have in this darn place Edgar" Magnus complained with a grumble while stopping in his tracks in an effort to pinpoint where the trap was.
"Approximately one-thousand and thirty-six" Edgar, the older of the two with a dirty-blonde, shabby and unkempt hair casually replied.
"You guys really don’t hold back do you?" Magnus frowned a bit after finally spotting the pressable slate on the ground, evaded it and then caught up to the fifty-year old man he was responding to.
"Shouldn’t you have acclimatized to this place over the past one year?" Edgar arched his eyebrows towards the brown-haired man questioningly.
"Unfortunately, I have a terrible memory when it comes to shit like that" Magnus rolled his brown irises in response.
Walking in the passageways, a few people stopped to respectfully greet or nod to both individuals and then, swiftly moved on to their own duties.
This happened a few more times but eventually, both people soon reached another big room.
Far bigger than all the others, this room also had multiple people in it, each of them wearing a lab coat and moving over from one uncompleted machinery or weapon to the other which were situated on either multiple metallic workstation benches or corners of the room on the ground.
However, the main attraction here wasn’t the people and their creations but instead, it was the marvelous and gigantic piece of machinery and futuristic tech that was slowly reaching its completion, present in the middle of the room.
Imposingly standing fifty-five feet tall, the massively large railgun, a technological marvel of epic proportions and a titan of energy and force, was ready to obliterate anything on command… as soon as the one final missing piece was affixed in it.
Standing before he and Magnus’s outstanding creation, Edgar couldn’t help but have his lips curl into a sinister smile.
With this, he could finally obliterate all of Aquilith Haven!
His revenge would finally come to fruition!
Watching as the man beside him maliciously smiled, Magnus couldn’t help but pity the man as he remembered his orders from their leader.
Pushing away those thoughts for a slight moment though, Magnus soon poured cold water all over Edgar’s being.
"Still weren’t able to retrieve the Eclipsian Prism from Arcana Academy so we better find a source for another one. You know how exceedingly rare that ore is and unfortunately for us, it’s also what’s needed to complete it" Magnus gestured while pointing to the railgun.
"I know dammit!" the shabbily dressed fifty-year old scientist snapped at Magnus in annoyance.
Having a sour expression replace the sinister one on his face, Edgar once again realized how badly the Eclipsian Prism was needed to complete their weapon of mass destruction.
As he was frowning to himself, contemplating how they would find another, especially since they had been looking for another one over the past five months now, one of the many members of their dark organization, swiftly ran up to him, carrying a big yet futuristically slim tablet in her hands.
"We’ve found another one!" she declared gleefully while shoving the screen of the device in Edgar and Magnus’s face.
A bit taken aback and annoyed by the lady’s sudden actions, Edgar was almost about to lash out in anger but before he did, his eyes widened in joy as he read the contents of the screen.
"An auction…" he muttered to himself, another creepy grin gracing his aged features.
